Seriously though, wouldn't be a missile.  This happened hours ago so that plane is gone, although a hijacking and the plane landing somewhere like Niger is certainly possible.

Hi-Jack or midair internal explosion. maybe 1 of the 59 slipped thru security. Would love to know the roster or who if anyone important was on board. Would rule out terrorism quicker as most of the time they want a larger plane full of more folks.

They returned them the next morning and it seems that the reason they were in Iranian waters was the fault/luck of the crews.  I don't see any reason to belabor the point, they weren't treated worse than we treated Japanese Americans during WWII.  That's kind of my threshold for ill treatment.

Well I was in Afghanistan three months later, then in Iraq.  I told some jokes over there too, did some stand-up in the Jalalabad comedy club in 2003.  Where were you?  Hiding under your desk and taking some prescriptions to get you through the day?  Mix in some booze maybe?  Cool story, bro.

Reports trickling in that there is nothing that suggests any distress signal or mechanical failure of any kind...

Cleveland you say DD? You might be right. On the surface you have to be hopeful if you have a family member on there because so far there are no reports of a plane actually falling thru the sky...however this plane didn't have enough fuel to fly all that far from the path, I heard something like an hour+ fuel.
