Electronic Cigarettes (2 Viewers)

Geoff, you wouldn't happen to be Geoff from Tasty Vapor would you? Seems like a heck of a coincidence for a Geoff to be pimping the wares of Geoff from Tasty Vapor. :confused:Anyway, my first order from Tasty Vapor shipped today, looking forward to it's arrival. One of them is Geoff's Blend.
 But I have spent a pretty good chunk of change on ejuice from several suppliers, only to find that TV blows most of them away in flavor and offers a really great quality product at a decent price so I couldn't help but share my excitement. I'm also pretty stoked that Geoff's blend is on special this week! With a name like that, I knew I would have to try it eventually and now I will!

Are you getting your TV juices sweetened? I've read Geoff's juices; Especially when sweetened, can be deadly for cartomizers. Had any issues? Looking at either grabbing a 901/510 connector so I can use an atomizer on my KR808 or just finding a mod I like and getting it with a 510 connection so I can try dripping. 7 days smoke free. NO urges. Pretty happy with this! Thanks to all in here for the info. It's been invaluable.
Outstanding! If you buy a mod... and yes, I am biased... the Infinity from Notcigs. It's sleak, and variable voltage. You can thank me later. :excited: Z Machine... mine cost $3.50 at Walmart. Clear plastic thing, no fold out drawers, just an organizing box. I don't keep my juice jars in it, just butt plugs, condoms, all my cartos, little screwdrivers, my 808 voltmeter, adapters. Hardly worthy of a pic. I have a rather large medicine cabinet and keep the juices in there. I use my chargers so much I leave them out.

And if this vaping thing doesn't work out you've got a nice S&M travel kit.

Yes, all my TV juices have been sweetened. Ive had zero carto issues with TV juices, but I get a maximum of 30% VG so theyre not too thick. Ive actually started rinsing out a few of my sweet-juice cartos after 3-4 days with hot tap water, spinning the water out of them, then refilling, and its been working great. The sweeter and thicker juices tend to resin up inside the batting in the cartos, which affects the wicking ability after a few days of vaping. The hot water cleans them up good, and theres no need to let them sit for days to dry. I fill them within a minute of rinshing/flushing/spinning them.
How do those "doubler" things work? Do you buy the nicotine and the flavorings separate and mix your own? Can you get it already mixed with nicotine? I don't see that option on his website, but maybe I didn't look enough.

Did I see a post from you at ECF with a Kinison avatar?

The first time around just order nic juice at your normal nicotine level. It's no different from the ejuice you would buy elsewhere to fill up your cartos. It contains nicotine and PG/VG at the ratios you request, and whatever flavor(s) you order. The doubler is exactly the same thing, but with zero nicotine. If you find a flavor you really like then you can start messing with doublers. First off, you will need an extra bottle to mix the two together, but if you order your nic juice in a higher concentration you can then add doubler to cut the nic level down to what you want to vape without diluting flavor.i.e. if you normally vape 24mg juice, then you order your nic juice at 48mg strength and add equal parts doubler and nic juice together, thereby cutting the overall nic content in half (24mg), while maintaining the same pg/vg and flavor ratios. If you normally vape at 18mg, then you could order 36mg nic juice and do the same thing to cut it in half; alternatively you could use 48 mg nic juice but you would either have to add two parts doubler and one part nic juice resulting in 16mg; or if you really want 18mg you would have to carefully measure out one part nic and one and 2/3 part doubler to achieve 18mg.

Got my newest order, kicking up from the 11mgs in my starter kit to 16s, coffee flavored. Wow. Big hit, great taste, awesome vapor. Me likey.

These days I have a 45 minute commute and I'm really looking forward to vaping away with my new buttkickers for the whole trip Monday morning.

Got a question for some of you wiley old veterans. I've fallen in love with V4L's VG WOW Cafe Mocha-24. 100% VG. The VG is what makes the higher vapor, right. This thing puts out tons of vapor and the wife and I both like it. Is there a catch? Why would I use anything other than 100% VG on all flavors? I ask this because I have run across a couple of sites that "no longer carry 100% VG". Was wondering if there was something negative about vaping 100% VG?

Negatives to VG are less throat hit and the more viscous liquid can gunk up some atomizers and doesn't work well in some cartomizers - it's too thick. If it works well in your PV/atomizer combo and you don't feel it lacks TH, go with it. Alien Visions is pretty much exclusively VG liquids and they taste terrific. I've been vaping Boba's Bounty non-stop in my mod since I got it. I loved the flavor in the MF cartos, but it didn't quite give me teh hit I was looking for. In the mod, it DOES.

Thanks EG. I have no problem with less throat hit. It's still as much as I can stand at 24mg anyway. Now to try and find it in juice instead of cartos. Didn't see an option to buy juice at 100% VG at V4L. I think TV limits the VG to about 30% on 24mg juices. Not sure why.

Pantherz, You can buy the 100% VG WOW Cafe Mocha juice at V4L, they only sell six 100% VG juices, but WOW Cafe Mocha is one of them  100% VG Cafe Mocha Wow Vapor Juice: http://store.vapor4life.com/Pancake_Wow_Vapor_Juice_p/wowvg30-cafemocha.htm

Also, TV limits the amount of nicotine in their juice because they only sell 1oz bottles, and after PG/nicotine base and flavorings, there is only so much room left in the bottle for added VG. The more nicotine content, the less room for VG. From their site:

Along with the PG/nicotine base and flavorings, only certain percentages of the bottle is left for adding VG. The following percentages will give you an idea of what VG can be added:

At 48mg - 10% VG, 36mg - 20%, 24mg - 35% and at 12mg - 50% is available for adding VG. You can check a percentage of VG you'd like added, but if this conflicts with what CAN be added, we will simply add what we can.

Jeez, I have no idea how I missed that. Thanks Wingnut.

The 11mg stuff was killing me. When I got the 24+ shipment in I started to really enjoy vaping and killing the cravings. I'm going to give this a few weeks then try to lower back down to 16-18mg. As luck would have it I've been driving about 5 hours a day this week and loving my Cafe Mocha.

A couple tips-

I'm not as into throat hit as others, but the Hilton 18mg delivered a ton. Hopefully that will be better for you.

Keep the batteries charged fully for the best vapor.

When in your car or at your PC, the USB passthrough is great. Clearly outperforms the batteries.

I started with mostly 18's and a few 24s. I thought I was done with the 24s, hadn't carried them in a few days, then went out for dinner and drinks last weekend. Got a major cigarette URGE after the meal. I didn't cave but spent about 15 minutes vaping to get my fix. Having a higher test option around is a good idea.

Good luck, as others have made clear it isn't a miracle cure but makes quitting cigarettes doable.

2 weeks without a cig as of a few hours ago.
Man, do I wish I has some 24's right now. Or 36's. Had dinner and a few beers already, and I am really wanting a nice heavy hitting cig. My analogs (ugh) are sitting less than two feet from me, tempting me, but I plan on leaving them alone for tonight. It is fun seeing how long I can go, and the great thing about vaping (ugh) is that I have something to help with the urges. I do wonder what it will be like when I quit the e-cigs, but hopefully my nic habit will be gone by then and it will just be getting rid of the hand to mouth habit that I apparently have.

Who was it that sked about the Ikenvape LR mega 808's? Short answer... do NOT use them on your PT's, at least the one on your computer. The PT's are not current limited. You could kill your PC, the PT or the carto. Use the 3 Ohm higher voltage ones. The LR's are strictly for 3.7 volt battery PV's. they are 1.9 Ohm attys.
That was me...good to know but some of the regular 808s (not LR) came available right after my post, they are on the way. Unfortunately they didn't get here in time to try out my Vapor Renu Juice order. I'm dying to try watermelon, which smells exactly like jolley ranchers as I had hoped, or swedish fish. Got a couple of carts drying so I can get started on them tomorrow.
Any Boston area Vapers?http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/145270-boston-vapers-needed-study.html
Signed up to participate in a focus group at BU on Monday. The subject is electronic cigarettes vs. traditional means to quit. Looking forward to giving my opinions and meeting some vapers IRL. Keep the faith Kilgore.

Having a few beers is always the most difficlut test for me. I made very sure I had no analogs around when I made the jump. It's one thing to have them sitting right there, another to have to go out and buy a pack. Having some higher mg vapes around helps a lot.

So, If any of you were forced to vape only one flavor for the rest of time what would it be?

For me it's the Hilton, but I haven't tried a whole lot of flavors yet.

The main reason having my wife get on board with this was so important to me was so that the cigarettes weren't always sitting around. It took me a couple of weeks of vaping to kick the analogs, and I didn't do it until the wife quit with me. I kept smoking about 2 a day the whole time they were so readily available. Everyone is different, but early on I don't think you need the temptation so close.

I think this vaping thing just got a whole lot easier. Got my bloog-type carts in from Nhaler today and filled them up with my 18mg juices from Backwoods. Significant upgrade from the V4L carts and juices. More vapor, and the nicotine hit seems better. I ordered the 555, Maple Tobacco, and the Casablanca. All of them hit pretty nice, but the Casablanca is my favorite. I may not need to find another juice.

:excited: That Casablanca completes me. I think I'm gonna go ahead and order the Maple with this upcoming order. Are those the only three Backwoods flavors you've tried?

I'm going to need a MUCH bigger tackle box. And I have only tried V4L, Bloog, Freedom(local in Charlotte), and Tasty Vapor. The TV came in today and I'm in love.

What did you get from Tasty Vapor? I've been eyeing them for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I have some Ikenvape cartos due in the next few days and some V4L Hilton and RY4 to put in them, but I think I need something else.

I need an all day vape. The Hilton is my go-to right now and I like it alot, but I need another to break up the monotony so to speak.

Yeah those are the only ones I have tried thus far. I do have to temper my enthusiasm though. For some reason, the carts stopped working on my V4L battery except for one, and it wasn't the Casablanca. I just returned home from having a few drinks and tried the other battery and now they work again. Chinese craftsmanship at work. Anyone else have issue with carts not always working?

The TV I'm in love with is their Cafe Mocha(24mg). Much more of a coffee flavor than V4L's. I got my wife the tobacco(36mg) and was suprised that it had a very light throat hit. I can handle it fine, and it has a nice smooth tobacco flavor. I'm not into the throat hit. The other was Geoff's blend(24mg), which I had assumed was a tobacco blend, but it's a bubble gum/red hot flavor. My wife and I both liked it, but it is definitely not an everyday vape. I will bounce from Cafe Mocha to Tobacco. In general, I think TV has a stronger flavor than any of the others I've tried. Very nice.

I haven't had to do this yet but it sounds like you need to pry the ceter o-ring up a bit on your battery. It's been covered somewhere in the thread and even had a you-tube video. Use a paper clip or pin and gently pry up on the outer edges of the center o-ring. Just a hair will do it. It gets pushed down if the carts are tightened down too far. From vapor-ize.com:

Why is my atomizer not working on this battery but it does on the other?

Try this... try to take a small screw driver like you would use for your eye glasses or you can use a small pair of needle nose pliers and try to lift the contact on the top of the battery up. (the battery contact is the small round circle inside of the outer ring with the threads). When doing this make sure you don't use excessive force just gently try to pry the contact up a little bit. The reason you would do this is because sometimes when we put an atomizer on our battery... the atomizer's bottom contact can be a little bit longer than an other atomizer and when we use the longer one it can push the battery contact down. This would cause the other atomizer(the shorter) to not make contact and thus your atomizer would not be working.

Confirmed that this works. I've had to do it a few times. I just use a safety pin that is in my wife's sewing room. It doesn't take much but it totally improves the performance. Also, got confirmation that my 30 Ikenvape cartos shipped yesterday. I am really looking forward to trying these. This is the reason I asked what everyone would vape if they could only vape one flavor from here on out. I like the Hilton, but I know I'm missing out on some great flavors. I just don't have a lot of money to experiment with.

I think I've got everything I need for vaping for at least the next 9-12 months. I went a little overkill. :)

3 V4L batteries

1 V4L pass thru

40 IKV Mega Cartos

10 V4L Cool Cart blanks

8 oz unflavored 100mg nic

20 assorted Loranns flavors

8 oz PG

4 oz VG

7 4 oz doublers from TV (AC/Cherry Cola/Caramel Popcorn/Rootbeer float/Waffles/Tastyfinger/Bananas Foster)

Total cost $450ish

Compared to 20 packs a month at $10 a pack. $1800-2400

Now the challenge will be not buying new flavors/juices every week. :D

Let us know how those flavors are, especially the Popcorn and Tastyfinger.

Congratulations on being our first official vaping "Mad Scientist"! I hope your pretty strong in the math department. I looked at the Loranns flavor list, and I assume that tobacco flavors would have to come from somewhere else.

These Ikenvape mega 808 carts have proven to be really really good. For over a week now I have been rotating between 4 flavors. I filled each carto initially, and just kept topping them off once or twice a day, never letting them go dry. They still vape like they were just filled for the first time yesterday. I haven't cleaned one yet. I live in mortal fear of vaping a carto dry, which happened to me once, and it was more awful than I can describe. With these there is no risk of that happening again. I just keep topping them off, they hold twice the juice of regular cartos.

The only down side of doing this is I'm pretty much stuck with vaping only 4 flavors at a time. I could fill more cartos, but as long as they never go dry, they seem to last forever.

Kilgore Trout, yup, I use a thumb tack, or call it a push pin for a corkboard. Perfect length to hold a carto cap, and it works fine to insert into the center post of either a carto or a battery to pry it up a tiny bit to make the electricasl contact better. Insert the pin into the the hole in the center post, pry it up, rotate the carto or battery 180 degrees, repeat. That will fix most non working cartos and or batts that don't seem to make good contact when recharging.

Without having to re-read this whole thread (which I intend to do someday), what is the opinion of those using the KR808D batteries as to which is the best?

I want to get a couple more and I have the V4L XL Manuals now and I like them. But if there is something better I want to get those.

TIA

Most will probably say the Bloog batteries, but you cant get them in the same size as your V4L XLs. Id recommend the V4L auto diamond series XL, theyre supposed to be just as good as the Bloog, and youll get the unmatched customer service from V4L.

I have a shipment of the IKenvape cartos on the way - the LR version. I assume the Diamond series batteries would be compatible?

And having never used an automatic, is the draw pretty much the same? Easier without pushing the button?

You'd think after almost 5 weeks I'd know this stuff, but there is sooo much to know. Ya know?

Went to get the IKV MEGA KR-808 but they are all out. They also have the LR - 808. Which should I get for my v4l auto or does it matter?

Yes they are compatible. With manuals you get a bigger hit, but I like the autos better. Draw is similar, but sometimes you need to give it a little primer puff to get em goin, but the V4L Diamond series (as well as Bloog) claims you dont need a primer puff. My GF has a few V4L DS batteries, and I still take a primer puff when I use them because it gives a better hit that way. You dont actually need to do it though.

You can use the Ikenvape mega LR 808s on the battery PV's, but not, NOT on the pass throughs! Something will fry! Could be the PT, could be your USB port, could be the carto. Do NOT use the LR's on any five volt PV, like the pass throughs are. I've read that frying a USB port can actually fry the power supply in your computer. If you buy the LR's be sure not to mix them up with other cartos you may use on your PT.

Got mine today. They work great on the Bloog 808 batteries, probably 20-25% stronger hit, and more storage capacity as well. The REO still smokes it, but you can definitely blast away on these with your 808 batteries.

Mine got here today too. I just loaded up one for the wife and she likes it. I'm going to Office Depot to get some of the little colored dots so we can color code ours. I tried hers but she uses 11mg so I got very little TH, but the vapor was impressive.

I have a vaperking auto pass thru I got with my shorty kit. I have used the Ikenvap mega LR 808s without problem. Is my pass thru less then 5v? I don't see anything on the V4L website that gives the voltage.I also saw some stainless 808 megas. They don't have any in stock, and I don't think they are LR. Maybe they will be better for my pass thru?

Well, cleared my first business trip with flying colors. Unfortunately I came home to an opened Ikenvape package and was asked about it by the wife. Could have told yet another bald faced lie, probably should have, but told the truth. Boy, I'm going to be in the doghouse for a long, long time. :(
Why were you lying to begin with again?
Cliff notes: Wife and I both smoked when dating, but I quit 10 years ago, then she quit a few months later. I began doing it on business trips and guy outings 4 years ago, and gradually lost control. I was managing it to some extent up until 18 months ago when I basically began having a cig everytime I could do it without anyone knowing.
as someone who has quit and started a few times... she already knew. As much as you try and mask it, your SO will know based on how much you reek/what you taste like, when you are back to smoking.

That's what I thought too, but her reaction and some of the things she said left no doubt in my mind. Either she should be put up for an Oscar or she was stunned.

Thanks. I'll wait until the others come in.

On second review the Ikenvapes are incredible. After the one I filled for my wife primed a little I was getting a TH with the 11mg pretty much equal to the 18mg I vape regularly. I can see my next juice order going down to 11mg now and I don't think I'll be jonesing for nic. Of course, I'll have some 18 around just in case...

But to me, these are just the ticket to further my journey off the nicotine. And maybe quicker than I figured.

I missed this the first time. That kind of sucks, but I'm glad I saw this. I use the PT at work and on my commute. I could be in a little trouble here. I guess I can just take the battery I keep on the charger all day at home to work with me and put it on the USB charger I keep there. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow, I too like the ikenvapes. Filled one with AV choco mint and a 2nd with AV Irish Cream. Is it possible to overfill these? I probably only put 1/3 of the 6 ml Irish Cream sample and its sort of like pulling pop through a straw that has a hole in it. I can feel the air struggling through liquid but not getting anything in my mouth or anything. Just a more fluid like crackle than I was used to with the V4L carts. The Irish cream liquid was noticeably thicker than the choco mint pouring when filling the cart.
