Do you guys realize that Eli threw for more yards than his brother this year?Eli: 3762 yardsPeyton: 3747 yards  And, he threw for just 4 less TDs.Fantastic year for Eli.

He's not there yet, but 4 years ago I told my brother in law that Eli would be better than Peyton. I don't think that he'll ever approach Peyton's td record though.

I think the chances are greater than not that we have an Eli/Peyton Super Bowl one of these days.

And Eli threw 7 more INT's, was almost .15 points lower in completion percentage and had an overall passer rating (which is overrated, but still a somewhat useful stat) of almost 30 points lower.

Yep. Which is why I said it was an unfair comparison (that, and Peyton has basically played 2 less games.)But impressive nonetheless.

Not really. Heck, Kerry Collins threw for more yards (despite not playing every game) than Peyton, too, had a higher completion percentage than Eli and had a better TD-INT ratio than Eli. So, would you say Collins also had an impressive year?

Collins was fourth in passing yards. Almost 2 to 1 td to int. Yes, pretty impressive stats.

I would say Collins had an impressive game. 331/3 goes a long way in making up a few stat problems. He had a fairly average year. However, his situation (playing from behind a lot) forced him to throw more often, and I'd argue he had much better weapons, especially early, than Eli.

Collins' numbers were already pretty good going into yesterday's game. Besides, since when do we not count players' best games (like Collins' game yesterday) when discussing how good their year was? If so, can I take Eli's game against the Rams away and then compare his numbers to Peyton's?

Nope. He had a good statistical year. I'd say he's been pretty underrated this year with all he's gone through in Oakland.

Much like Pitchers and Goalies, perhaps the most important stat for a QB, and in this case Eli11-5Peyton was 14-2.Not to shabby for the little brother there - very impressive in fact. But he is not close to Peyton.I think they are somewhat different in style. I would gladly sacrifice stats for a Giants superbowl victory with Eli at the helm.

The jist of this post is silly considering Eli played 2 more games than Peyton, don't ya think?
Hence the..."I know this isn't fair, but..."
ok, so why not start a thread about Trent Dilfer has won more Super Bowls than Dan Marino too?! I guess the point is the thread is useless. Usually you have really good takes, and pretty good posts, but not this case. It wasted my time and hence the negative response.

 It was a simple comparison...taken a tad out of context.

It just put a good touch on Eli's very good year, IMO.

Once Eli works out his mechanics, he will lead the Giants very deep into the playoffs. As a Giants fan, I wasn't expecting the playoffs this season. He has the weapons on offense to really put up some #'s next year. His maturity plus a revamped defensive backfield, will take the Giants DEEP into the playoffs next year.

Eli: 3762 yards

Peyton: 3747 yards

And, he threw for just 4 less TDs.

Fantastic year for Eli.
And M. Vick made the probowl ahead of Eli :lmao:

And Favre threw for more yards than them both....I guess that means he should be in the Pro Bowl as well.

What was Favre's record again this season???? Your point is ridiculous.

Eli had good stats and a better record then Vick and therefore this should equal PROBOWL.

 amazing what Moss(even when partially injured) will do
