Eli's noodle arm (1 Viewer)

Just thought I'd share the article http://snygiants.com/eli-manning/is-eli-suffering-from-arm-fatigue/

..he’s coming off a 20-game season (the downside of making the Super Bowl as a wildcard) and has come firing right out of the gate again this season with an uneven schedule. The Giants also have not had their bye yet this year. So, yes, it’s a possibility.
Nicks and Cruz have not exactly been lighting it up lately, I'll also add that he is top ten so far this year in attempts and yards per attempt if that means anything

First, thanks for sharing. interesting article. But I dont buy it. I think the problem is pretty clear. The protection hasnt been there, Eli has been getting lit up lately. He hasnt really been able to step into his throws.

On 3+ receiver sets especially hes getting a lot of heat in his face. thats why, if you noticed last week they started running the Z WR deep in order to clear out room for the X on underneath and crossing routes. Its the first time i have seen them do this since Gillbride has been OC (which is what 8+ yrs?). THey clearly need to bring in pascoe, send Bennett on some seams and shift blocking assignments accordingly. Ironically, as Eli is the one setting the schemes at the line a lot of the time, part of the blame has to be shared by him.

All hail Eli though anyway!

Also, I think I saw a quote from Nicks saying they need to mix things up more in the passing game because they are becoming too predictable

Saw this as well. They fell in love w/ the deep ball and need to do other things. X underneath is a good start, how about a screen pass? Check down? a QUICK SLANT for once.

Total BS. Eli 2012 - 752 pass attempts. Brady - 722 pass attempts. Brees - 763 pass attmpts.

Nicks is becoming too predictable, he's always hurt and on the injury report. The Giants are in a weak division, they'll be ready and be competitive come playoffs. The season is long and there are a lot of ups and downs, Eli is the last person Giant fans should worry about being ready for the playoffs.

Eli goes through spurts of being awful. He loves to blindly throw the ball when getting pressured. Then his goober magic will kick in just as the playoffs are about to start.

Following Sunday's loss to the Bengals, Eli Manning insisted he doesn't have a "tired arm."

It doesn't matter now, hopefully he gets better after the bye

Maybe after the season they'll find a neck problem causing this, he'll have 3 surgeries, miss a year, the Giants will go 1-15, cut Manning, draft a QB #1, and Manning will go to another team and be a stud again.

Just maybe.

Perfect storm. Bad pass protection, he's making bad decisions, guys like Cruz who couldn't be covered now aren't getting open, and then drops by the likes of Cruz and Bennett compound the problem. Also Gilbride needs to get it together. I still think they will. Eli and his receivers are too good for this to go on IMO. Almost cost me another game though. Hope he doesn't get it back when it's too late for all of us owners

Eli has one more week for me. They have the Bye to get right, otherwise I have to go with someone who doesn't have such a low side. IN my QB heavy league, he is costing me games.

He's like a poker player that goes all-in every time he gets A-J offsuit. Sometimes it pays off to be stupid lucky and throwing your chips around.

Does anyone else think his mechanics (specifically footwork) have been sloppy this year? Just something I've noticed watching the games.
