If your wife did join I predict she would be a very popular poster in no time.My wife got an email too. Wtf?
Diabolical. Otis is playing checkers while Joe is playing chess. Me, I can't mention what I'm playing with, not unless I want a T.O.This is just a plot to motivate Otis to up his offer.
sounds like it was an error related to the board upgrade.a bunch of buddies who don't use Footballguys regularly just said they got spammed by footballguys inviting them with some email blast.
what is this? is this part of the Otis buyout offer to boost the active users?
sounds like it was anerrorclever marketing ploy related to the board upgrade.
Mine too. I registered her as mrs roboto one time I think. My wife got an email too. Wtf?
it's not something I can easily explain. Just passing along the information that it was an error and not sent intentionally. How does a board upgrade lead to user's contact lists getting emailed accidentally?
I don't think it's on you to explain, but that seems to be something all you guys should want to investigate a little more. In just trying to logically trace how that could possibly happen, you don't really end up with too many scenarios where it could be accidental and not open you up to some privacy concerns.it's not something I can easily explain. Just passing along the information that it was an error and not sent intentionally.
This should NOT be the default setting. A little miffed that it happened.

Message board users provided an email address when signing up. Wasn't sent to people's contacts. How did the site access contacts lists? Seems like that should not be something that happens without specific permission.
Again. Shouldn't be a 'thing.' And I don't think you know the meaning of import if you follow that with 'to'.That was the import of our contact information to the DFS affiliates.
Mrs CIA has not received anything.Mine too. I registered her as mrs roboto one time I think.
But, again, this went out to folks that had never been to the FBG message boards... and certainly hadn't signed up for an account.Message board users provided an email address when signing up. Wasn't sent to people's contacts.
Really? That's not the way I understood things. I sent a follow up question. But, again, this went out to folks that had never been to the FBG message boards... and certainly hadn't signed up for an account.
From what I've been told, these emails only went out to people in the forums database who selected "no" in response to the profile question asking if they wanted to be added to the email list when registering.Really? That's not the way I understood things. I sent a follow up question.
