ESPN: Favre "Not Expected To Return" (1 Viewer)

Those who think there is no way in a million years Favre will play for another team are being blind homers. Im not saying it will happen but to outright dismiss it is assinine.
Agreed. As a Packer fan, I went into this season thinking the same thing. However, the events of this season really make me question it. Also, I find it odd that Favre keeps bringing up that Green Bay could sever ties with him at any time. Really, if you read his comments over the last few months, he's said this on several occasions. He's never said it before, and it makes me wonder a bit if he isn't thinking that it'd be nice for Green Bay to move on without him, but he still wants to play somewhere.

Nice, but not quite FSU quality, as they've eaten just a little too much cheese.
gimme a break pigskinliquors...if it's too much cheese that does that to a woman, I'm enrolling my wife in "The Cheese of the Month Club".
Please note that i sais "just a little too much cheese." I certainly wouldn't throw any of them out of bed for eating crackers. I'm only saying that they are not FSU girl hot. In case you are out of the loop...FSU Girls

I'll gladly take a gal who's eaten just a little too much cheese!

You might want to explain to the cheeseheads that in this instance "assinine" doesn't refer to either the donkey they get for sinking a hole-in-one on the 9th hole at the Green Bay mini-golf course, or the number of beers that need to be consumed before a typical female cheesehead becomes attractive enough to take home at bar closing. You are referring to “asinine” as in “utterly ridiculous or lacking sense”. :D The rumor I heard was that if Favre does retire John Madden has offered to have Brett come up to the booth and sit in his lap for the entire first quarter of every NBC Sunday night game.

Only because Favre has said over and over and over that he would not. Nothing blind homeristic about it. Just taking the man at his word...and knowing a bit about him that would make me doubt that he would ever do so.

Yup. Not to mention the unbelievable backlash that would be directed at Thompson and Harlan should they trade Favre. No way in hell do the Packers want to go through that kind of PR backlash.

Funny stuff!Back on topic -- my theory is that Favre was going to retire before the 2005 season, but that would have left GBP high and dry. As a favor to the team and GM Thompson, Favre made a handshake deal before the 2005 draft to play the 2005 season to mentor any QB that GBP drafted, which turned out to be Rodgers. No way do I see Favre suiting up in 2006, it'll be Rodgers for better or for worse.
