Any update on this, Buffalo fans?Heard on NFL radio today that Ellison has a real good chance to replace him on 3rd down. Take it for what it's worth. :(Buffalo: Crowell, Posluszny

I played Williams instead of Ruud.Rudd = 53 pointsWilliams = 4 pointsDoes anybody know if Ruud is playing all 3 downs? I have to choose between him and D. Williams. When I watched the Falcons play in the pre-season, Boley was playing on 3rd down and Williams was out.
Guh.Most indications were that both were playing in the nickel during the few snaps each got in the preseason. Still no eyes on confirmation about what's going on in Tampa Bay, although it seems likely that June is sitting while Ruud stays in the nickel. Williams' situation is even more up in the air than whether he's playing in the nickel. Also, the Bengals threw yet another curveball with Lemar Marshall playing one OLB position in the base defense and Caleb Miller remaining a nickel-only player.I played Williams instead of Ruud.Rudd = 53 pointsWilliams = 4 pointsDoes anybody know if Ruud is playing all 3 downs? Spencer was in and out of the third down packages in the second half. Late in the game they went with a 4-3 look and Spencer was not on the field.Dallas: James, Ware, Spencer

Foote has been an every down LB for them. Woodley has mostly been rotating for Haggans, until Harrison got injured at least. If he's out for a few weeks, I'd assume Woodley would start but they might start playing Timmons more in that caseEVERY DOWN BACKERSUpdated after Week 2. Really? Who comes off when they add the third corner then? Ryan Clark? I thought I saw Foote on the sideline late in the preseason and against the Browns.Foote has been an every down LB for them. Jene, Could you pin this thread?
Still compiling data on these teams, but the LILB has been outproduced (all things equal) by the RILB in the Phillips defense. James had started to lose time to Kevin Burnett in the nickel and dime packages over the past couple of weeks. Burnett was injured last week, though, and depending on severity, may leave James as the every down linebacker again. Should have been more clear about that situation above.better yet, Jene, could you help me understand Brady James production? It seems if he is really 3 downs he would be well ahead of other LBs but he has been only average on tackles with a nice game last week (9)Now im torn between him and a guy like Hobson, adn this would really make my mind up, who plays more downs
Jene, Could you pin this thread?
He has already been playing in nickel packages for most of the year. Just needed to get the early downs to make the list. He'll be on the updated list this week. After 10-7 I'm assuming David Harris is in the nickel for the Jets?

Is Leber out of the nickel package?EVERY DOWN BACKERSForgot to update last week -- my apologies. Injuries are currently making a mess of this list.Minnesota: Henderson
It's become more of a rotation than it was the first week the change was made. Mostly Leber, but I don't think it's accurate to call him an every down backer right now.Is Leber out of the nickel package?EVERY DOWN BACKERSForgot to update last week -- my apologies. My gut feeling is Greenway is not yet 100%. I think he will get all of his speed and explosiveness back next year, and thus be back full time in the nickel packages. I may be wrong, but that's my gut feeling. That tells me to buy low on Greenway in dynasty leagues.Sorry for the mini hijack. Also, isn't Adalius Thomas a 3 down LB?It's become more of a rotation than it was the first week the change was made. Hard to say. The Pats have been mixing in a whole lot of 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 with Seymour healthy. That may have been a wrinkle put in specifically for the Colts, but between injury and Belichick, Thomas has fewer than 80% of the snaps over the past 3-4 weeks.According to Mike Reiss, Thomas played only 19 of a possible 65 snaps against the Colts. Also, isn't Adalius Thomas a 3 down LB?
If that is true, it would explain why he is not on the field more. I just can't understand why someone with his versatility and playmaking ability would not be on the field at all times.JOBOOZOSO said:regarding Ad Thomas, there are rumors he's significantly hurting.
