This might not be the right place for this and I apologize if it isn't. I was really hoping we could sticky this and make more people aware of such a great cause.

If you read the article, George is walking across America and raising money for a truly great cause. He is currently in my town (Alamogordo, New Mexico) and I had a chance to meet him. Drove past him this morning on the way in to work and was fortunate when I got to work that someone had seen the documentary on him and recognized him. So, we went and said hello to him and asked him to stop by our business for water or anything he might need. He not only stopped but signed autographs and took pictures. They are filming as well, so it was really cool for all of our employees to be a brief part of it. He was told I was the biggest Dallas fan he would ever meet, so when I got to talk to him he teased me pretty good. He was very fun and a true gentlemen.

George and all the people in his group are tremendously kind and wonderful people. If you have the means, please donate to this great cause.

Mods, if this is in the wrong place I am sorry. Just thought it was a great opportunity to raise awareness. Thanks.

Thanks. Even if noone wishes to donate, I just thought it was worthy of bringing attention to. The goal was to raise $10 million and they said they are already at $2.5 million. The hospital and I believe a couple other organizations (including the NFL and players association) will either match the money raised or make a sizeable donation.

If George is going through your city, it is well worth your time to meet him and the crew putting this together. There are supposed to be some other NFL stars joining in later. He has currently walked 2,400 miles and is staying pretty close to his goal of 40-50 miles/day. George is in great shape so I can't see him not reaching his goal.

Also traveling with him is a retired New York City firefighter who retired just before 911 and lost many, many good friends. He is a really classy individual as well.

So, if you have a chance, show these guys some love. Honk your horn, stop and say hi or post them a message and donate if you can. I told them I would post here at FBG's, so they will check it out when they can.

I wouldn't say "already at 2.5 million". He started in New York and is currently was in Arizona as of Friday the 23rd, so more donations are definitely needed! To donate or to learn more about George's fundraiser visit www.ajourneyfor911.com
