Explain the Browns WR situation to me (1 Viewer)

redman

As far as I can tell, Northcutt and Jurevicious are the starting two WR's, with Edwards trying to make his way back onto the field.

When Edwards returns to the lineup, who does he replace? Northcutt? When is Edwards expected to return?

How has Jurevicious been looking with Frye?

I ask because my dynasty squad is now blessed by having Jurevicious, Northcutt and Winslow all on my roster.

I have roster cut-downs and one of those WR's probably needs to go.

i *think* Edwards and JJ will be the starting two WRs when everyone is healthy.

the Browns never seem to let Northcutt start unless there is an injury.

i'm guessing JJ and Northcutt may have similar #s by the end of the year, however.

maybe try to trade one of them?

Its slightly interesting, and I'll admit, being a Browns fan, I'm not 100% sold on what they will do. Here is my theory:

Starting the season, Joe J. and Braylon will start (just my theory, I see it happening)

Northcutt will be the slot

Frisman Jackson and Joshua Cribbs will be the 4th and 5th receivers.

That being said, I don't see big years out of the receivers. I see lots of 2 WR sets with Winslow and Heiden, and I formations with Smith and Droughns.

Edwards should start week1. He's played the last 2 preseason games so I would expect him to be in there.

Frye has not thrown alot of balls JJs way at all in the preseason and looks like he targets Northcutt the most so far. When Edwards is in Frye does throw his direction quite a bit too but Edwards has only played 20-25 snaps in the last 2 games. I would guess that Edwards will be getting most of the targets by week3.

Winslow looks strong and quick and is very involved in the offense. The Browns are moving him around alot trying to get the missmatch.

I saw no mention of Travis Wilson in amy of the above posts. Is he really WR6 or worse?
good point. from what i've seen, they really like him. Frisman Jackson is on the bubble from what i've heard.maybe Jackson back to the practice squad?Cribbs is used to return kicks, so i'm sure he'll be there.

Well, there's this team that has a black cloud over it called the Clev Browns. They're usually a fantasy blackhole and this year will probably be no different. Their two best players are coming off knee injuries, they have a "rookie" QB and a questionable offensive line. While JJ might be a decent goal line option (when they get there) he'll probably max out at 5 tds. Not much to get excited about from my POV.

If I had to cut one of them (actually, if I had a gun to my head and was being forced to keep 2 of them, but I digress), I'd go with Northcuttps - excellent ACF disguise

Braylon and Kellen sat on a wall.

Braylon and Kellen had a great fall.

All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put Braylon and Kellen together again.

i'd rather have the Browns' recieving corps. than the Eagles'.
LOL! That's funny.Reggie Brown and Donte Stallworth are head and shoulders better than any combination that Cleveland can put on the field.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Jury is still out.

:lmao: Braylon Edwards down?MAYBE not this year, but as early as next year, they won't be able to hold Braylon's jock.Yes, I'm a homer, but give me a break...

I am DYING to get Braylon Edwards in my keep 10 league. He was dropped by some team that had a lot of WR (can only keep 5).

I am 10th pick and hope the losers in front of me grab all those marginal RB talents (DeAngelo, Lundy, etc.) and I will grab Braylon.

Now is the last time you can get him at a reasonable price IMO.

Oops, he is so memorable to me obviuosly  Anyhow, Wilson will likely work his way up to the 4th receiver soon, and may start pushing Northcutt. I'm not that high on Northcutt, but then again, I'm not that high on any Browns receiver this season. They will go short often with their passes and try to win games with their defense and running attack.

Winslow's a given on my roster. I guess Jurevicious > Northcutt because of the shorter passing game and because JJ would seem to make for a good red zone target.

I'd keep JJ over Northcutt redman. Northcutt has a way of getting into coaches' doghouses, is too small to stay healthy if playing full-time and has mental lapses. He'll follow a huge play up with dropping an easy one on third down.

Jackson expected to be cut

Published Sat Sep 2 9:24:00 a.m. ET 2006

(Rotoworld) Browns WR Frisman Jackson is expected to be cut Saturday.

Impact: Jackson has become expendable with Travis Wilson and Josh Cribbs emerging in the pass game. He has size and decent speed, so Fris should draw some decent interest on the open market.
