Exploit/Avoid tonight Baltimore at Denver (1 Viewer)

Week 1 is usually not very predictable so I suspect Ed Dickson will put up some numbers tonight. Though I am not confident enough to start him.

All kinds of noise Moreno might get the start tonight. He was playing really good ball last season when he got the gig.

Sneaky flex start tonight.....maybe?

In what world do Luck and Manning end up on the same team? Or Romo for that matter? Yikes.
In the FFPC, Romo was around in the double digit rounds as was Luck. I have 2 strong QB candidates in most of my non best ball leagues. I get what you're saying Zoo but there are some options out there for certain owners.

Can't believe people are thinking of benching Peyton. That's crazy talk.
understood Kutta, just feel there might be QBs who do a little better this weekend.

So owners on most sites cannot make changes to their starting rosters even with the delays? This game ain't starting till 9:30 at this point, they need some warm up time now.

It really hurts when you have someone like Manning on your bench go off for 60+ points. Really, really hurts.

Luckily I didn't. I did have the Ravens DEF but luckily was able to pickup the Bucs and roll with them.

I had Decker going in the FLEX and I am not super worried. Yes, it was a disappointing game but its week 1. He still had 7 targets and dropped a TD. Hopefully Manning doesn't start looking away from him after 1 bad game. I feel like this DEN offense will be going off like this weekly with every member of that WR corp getting their licks.

Denver: I am actually thinking of sitting Manning in favor of Tony Romo this week

I think Denver might come out of the gate a little slow much like last year before they hit their stride for the run in the middle to later part of the year.

I would also start Decker but Welker might disappoint tonight.

I also would skip the Denver TE spot for now until we see how much the rewards will be.
Nailed it.

I'll give the op props for posting before the game and being the one to bump it after the game. We all get stuff horribly wrong at times. At least he put his money where his mouth was with regard to Manning. There's always a chance the Giants/Cowboys game could be a massive shootout with lots of big plays to Bryant, Austin & Witten.

MOP produces great write ups and analysis. Week 1 is always hard to figure out. The only thing I can't accept in his analysis is the possibility of benching manning (I'm talking about before this 7 td outburst). You don't bench Peyton manning unless its for drew Brees or arodg and I don't see a scenario in which you would have both on your team so you DON'T EVER BENCH MANNING.

Other than that his analysis if welker, decker, and JT wasn't outlandish. He was just wrong...which most of the fantasy world was as well.

Julius thomas was owned in like 13% of fantasy leagues world wide and started in like 2% of them before last nights games. He went undrafted in most leagues.

Welker was coming to a new team with a crowded receiving corps. It was anyone's guess as to who would get the love from manning and just how much love there would be to spread around against a very different but seemingly still strong ravens defense.

Most weeks, manning isn't throwing 7 Tds so there are goin to be 1 or 2 odd men out if the statistical bonanzas. One week it could be JT and decker. Next week welker and DT. You just will never know and that is why you just have to plug them into your lineup as fixtures and take the good with the bad.

You want any piece of this offense that you can get your hands in that's for sure!

The only thing worse than benching Peyton was drafting Ball before Peyton .... And I saw tons of teams doing that in the FFPC this year

He gave his reasons why he Benched him and it didn't work. We took our shots at him, move on. You act like he benched him for Gabbert of something!

His reasoning essentially was "I think Manning and Denver are going to start slow" without any basis or further thought whatsoever.

Over the years I've been on this site I've developed a lot of respect for MOP's posts and the thought he puts into them even when I dont agree with his opinions. But this struck me yesterday as a very baseless opinion. I just don't see any good reason to bench Manning. And in redrafts I'm not sure why anyone would roster another QB with Manning that even makes you think about sitting him. In dynasty, if I had a combo like Manning and Romo I'd be looking to deal one for a younger QB.

So not to pile on but I really took note of this thread yesterday because it offered an opinion that really lacked the sort of thought and reasoning that I usually associate with the OPs posts/threads.

It appears Welker will be Manning's go to guy in the red zone and short yardage 3rd downs. He rarely really got the redzone looks in NE. This supports my preseason theory that welker may end up with less catches and even yards but he will have many more TDs and will overall be as good or perhaps even slighty better than last year.

come on

i am a cowboys fan and there is no matchup on either side that would make me consider benching Manning for Romo

sometimes when you make a bold statement you fail in a very epic and public way. But MoP is big boy, he'll take his ribbing and keep going. This ain't going to phase him, nor should it.

Props to MoP for doing this every week and sticking around to take his lumps.

I read it every week.

I make my own calls, but enjoy reading the opinions of other FFers

Tagged.

Also, glad I started Welker in all 3 leagues where I own him...and sat every Denver RB I own across the board.

So who said "Manning will start slow again because he started slow last year"?? lol

Not laughing at the decision of some people sitting Manning, just laughing at the backwards illogical thought process that led you to do that.

Death....taxes........................and Manning having a good game every week this year.

Peyton. Brady. Rodgers. Brees. Those four guys are all so awesome that you should never bench any of them. Ever.
Agree with this.

Although in one league, owner sat Peyton in favor of Brady, which at the time was probably the right move.

That owner should probably be looking to sell a QB to upgrade elsewhere. lol

Denver: I am actually thinking of sitting Manning in favor of Tony Romo this week if that offers some perspective. I think Denver might come out of the gate a little slow much like last year before they hit their stride for the run in the middle to later part of the year. I want to see it all work for a week and there are so many juicy match ups in the coming weeks ahead. Still I could understand why many owners would start him but in most leagues I saw him go around round 5ish so it's not unlikely an owner didn't grab perhaps Luck or someone else 4-5 rounds later. Beyond that the RB position is a real leap of faith. Can't recommend any of them from my POV. Thomas has to be a must start, I would also start Decker but Welker might disappoint tonight. We'll see how this shakes out. I also would skip the Denver TE spot for now until we see how much the rewards will be.
VERDICT: AVOID MOP EXPLOIT AVOID ANALYSIS

I kid I kid... thanks for posting these up.

Bad luck for MOP, but basically the opposite of what he said happened. Don't Bench Your Studs.
