Explosions at Boston Marathon (2 Viewers)

Uncle doing an interview on NBC, asked why the suspects might have done this he says because they are "losers"
If you're not getting this you should check it out. Guy is amazing. Kind of funny, to be completely honest. He's mad at everyone and everything, especially his relatives.

Kyrgystan makes a lot more sense, especially if he then went for training in Chechnya.
Speculation: Maybe from the point of view of a potential terrorist puppet master, a Kyrgyzstani passport is considered "cleaner" than a Russian one showing a point-of-origin in Chechnya?

Does anyone think the old man may have been a hostage take and forced to wear the vest? Or have i watched too many movies?

Can't believe they were that hot for 7-11. How stupid...
Must have been desperate for cash.
I think the 7-11 was the location of a car-jacking....it is not clear that they actually robbed it.
this is all wrong. maybe instead of worrying about tea party comments made on page 4 you should follow the story?
Seriously. Every major media site you can think of has a timeline. It's weird that people think this thread is the best way to catch up.

The thread is awesome, but that's because there's lots of us watching lots of different networks and other outlets and we can post what they say in real time. If you want to know about stuff that happened more than 5 minutes ago, look elsewhere.
Trying to keep this thread as an update for those late to the party.

Feel sorry for the guy. Really seems to believe in the American Dream and is pissed off at these two as much or more than any of us.

CRV was used to drive them to the site of the carjacking, and a suspect drove off in it. It was later abandoned and recently recovered in Cambridge.

(per Police on local CBS coverage)

This seems to be pretty much true of most terrorists and major crimiinals -- can't get traction on a legit life, so there's a great temptation to get bitter and go rogue.Or get talked into joining a terrorist cell.

I like this thread, you get all the bull#### from every network and website

I'm not sure I'd think that. Kyrgystan has a lot of ties to terrorist groups that hate the U.S., at least last I checked.

Hang on - so there was a car chase last night with explosions and gunfire and one dead suspect and the other guy got away? How does that happen?

Is Tsarni (the uncle) living in Russia, the U.S., or elsewhere? His English is excellent.

I have nothing against you DD. I don't even remember an exchange between us that I could hold a grudge against you with. I just notice how you can be "not excellent" to other people at times. There's no need for that here.
you should see the rude, profanity-laden PM he sent me.

Thanks for that. Had to couch my take as speculation because I wasn't sure.

I always thought the biggest problem child in Central Asia was Tajikistan, which is basically North Korea Part II but with way less attention on it.

House of the Uncle who's address was given out is surrounded by reporters.. Police are there also, either interviewing him, or there to protect him since his address was announced on live TV.
