CNBC reports the older dead brother left country for 6 months last year - left out of NY. No details at this point on where he went at this point - reporting Moscow was one stop
What was tweeted?CNN is confirming the twitter account that I posted as his.
Another news outlet is reporting the exact opposite and calling WXXX a bunch of filthy, worthless liars.[some news outlet that starts with a "W" is reporting something right now that isn't confirmed in any way at all and may or may not be factual.]
yesThanks SW16.
were the Checkins the ones who did all that damage at a movie theatre, or school, some years back?
They're fighting a different fight though. Most of their work is local against Russia and/or the majority Orthodox Christians in Georgia. They're not really globally interested. They're fighting for their home.I have heard that the Chechnyan rebels are pretty substantially Muslim, but I'm probably wrong. Still, it wouldn't surprise me to find that they're trying to get back to relevancy.Today Show (Richard Engel interviewed by Savanah Guthrie) reporting that the group the suspects are linked to is a splinter group of Al-Qaeda

I wasn't specifically calling you out for a source, more from the media. It will be interesting to see if Al-Qaeda denounces them or claims them.Agree totally. That's why I'm making sure to include where I'm hearing it and from whom. It's also curious they give the amorphous "Law Enforcement Officials" as the source.Would love to hear a source on this, the media have gotten things so completely wrong I don't trust a whole lot of what they are reporting.Today Show (Richard Engel interviewed by Savanah Guthrie) reporting that the group the suspects are linked to is a splinter group of Al-Qaeda
I believe that was at a hotel. Thanks SW16.were the Checkins the ones who did all that damage at a movie theatre, or school, some years back?

Sounds like they lost their map then. They're fighting a different fight though. Most of their work is local against Russia and/or the majority Orthodox Christians in Georgia. Gonna need a second clue.[some news outlet that starts with a "W" is reporting something right now that isn't confirmed in any way at all and may or may not be factual.]

His tweets and pictures are pretty typical. Non-violent jay-z and Eminem lyrics and internet memes. What was tweeted?CNN is confirming the twitter account that I posted as his.

I'm hot, about 103.4 degrees to be exact"
I'm fuzzy on that meaning as well, but the fact remains that one guy is still on the loose, and they've shut down Boston to find him.No this is true. And it was reported earlier by Yahoo that the brothers have a "Islam world view", whatever that means.I have heard that the Chechnyan rebels are pretty substantially Muslim, but I'm probably wrong. Still, it wouldn't surprise me to find that they're trying to get back to relevancy.Today Show (Richard Engel interviewed by Savanah Guthrie) reporting that the group the suspects are linked to is a splinter group of Al-Qaeda
Anyone recall Obama going around the campaign with the line that AQ had been defeated...If it's true about al Qaeda, then it just shows again how fighting these guys is like fighting the mythical Hydra. We have spent countless billions and untold effort over the last decade. We have killed their leader. We have killed their #2 guy several times now. How many times did both Presidents Bush and Obama tell us that this organization was severely weakened thanks to our efforts? And I have no doubt they were sincere.
But this is the problem with terrorism. All it takes is for one or two guys to express sympathy, and willing to kill, and AQ is back in business. We're only lucky that these two brothers weren't willing to die themselves, otherwise the carnage would have been much worse.
Doesn't Al-Qaeda usually accept responsibility/take credit for these things?I wasn't specifically calling you out for a source, more from the media. Yup. And while we may have hurt their potential to do a large scale attack, both financially and strategically, they will always be capable of these scaled down, yet plenty destructive, attacks. They're ethnic Chechens, but were from Kyrgyzstan. So the uncle is saying they were born and raised in Kyrgyzstan not Chechnya. Kyrgyzstan is a Muslim country with about 80% of the population practicing Islam.
Ruslan Tsarni, the uncle of the two suspects in the Boston bombings, spoke to CNN on Friday morning. He said the brothers Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhara Tsarnaev grew up in Kyrgyzstan and have been in the U.S. for about 7 or 8 years. He said he was told by his sister-in-law in the morning that Tamerlan was shot and killed.

Suspect #2's account.I just popped back on after doing some house stuff. What's with all the tweets.
Maybe it's more related to being Sunni Muslims. Not seeing where the motives of these two brothers are related at all to any Chechnya-specific issues.

That's a quote from Edmund Burke, I believe. I don't understand how someone could believe this and then bomb innocent people.
