Just curious: has anyone on here ever cooked something in a pressure cooker? What do you need vast amounts of air pressure to cook?
It's 15 psi. It's really not that incredible an amount of pressure.
Small note, it is definitely not 15 psi
15 psig is operating pressure. If the cooker blew apart at 15 psi, no one could use it without getting a new kitchen (and lawyer) on each use.
There is a relief device built in to relieve pressure at 15 psi. That gets removed by the terrorists. Still, the vessel likely can handle 30-45 psi before it is compromised (explodes). A safety factor of 3 (meaning 45 psi) is very typical on these vessels
