Okay, and I'm with you. That's a tasteless idea that should have never made it to production. A 6'6" white guy slinging himself around would be a pretty easy thing to spot. I doubt they want him.Coming Summer 2014..."g'day mate"I need to remember this trick if I get carjacked by terrorists. The carjack victim wasn't killed because he wasn't American. Hm
Should work on some accent I suppose. Venezuelan? Greek? Not sure what's a good one. Maybe Australian? Everyone loves them I think

Talk about a guy who is not afraid of commitment. So who takes custody of him? Will he go through the court system? Will there be a trial?
Or does he go to Guantanamo?
It's all about being "live on the scene". Even local news does it, they'll have someone reporting from somewhere where something happened 10 hours earlier. They always have a group of 5 people standing out in the street 3 days after the person is arrested?First time watching the news, huh?Why are all of these CNN reporters still standing out in the street?

And this folks is how you do it. Thanks DDConnections to Al-Qaeda in Iran. Back in 2005 or so I was talking about the Al-Qaeda that ended up in Iran and their influence going forward. At the time it was mostly a mishmash of operatives but one important one in Saif al-Adel who is essentially the only #3 we didn't kill or capture.Heres the story on CNN

Report: Canadian authorities thwart terror plot
(CNN) -- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are expected to announce Monday afternoon that Canadian law enforcement officials have "thwarted a plot to carry out a major terrorist attack, arresting suspects in Ontario and Quebec," the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
An official with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police tells CNN that the plot intended to target "transport links," but would not provide further details. The source confirmed that there is no link between the Canadian investigation and the Boston bomb attack, and added there was no known link with the Canadians involved in the terror attack on the Algerian gas plant in January.
The CBC, which is a CNN affiliate, quoted "highly placed sources" as saying the suspects were under surveillance for more than a year.
No connection exists between the disrupted plot in Canada and the Boston Marathon bombings, U.S. government sources told CNN's Carol Cratty.
The CBC reported that the investigation was "part of a cross-border operation involving Canadian law enforcement agencies, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security."
Last time I saw anything on him was probably in 2009 when Iran said that they had sent him back to Pakistan a year earlier, then changed their mind and said they didn't know who that was. These days many think he's the #1 guy in Al-Qaeda and certainly he is the most experienced Al-Qaeda senior operative with an impressive resume:
This guy is the true Islamist, he isn't in it for the rush or money like KSM or the chance to get close to Bin Laden like the other #3s. From the beginning he preached the caliphate across Northern Africa and said those countries would unify the Muslim world to oppose the west. His writings are folklore among terrorist experts, highly regarded for his passion and genius to kill and maim. He generally was always opposed to what he considered a bureaucracy within Al-Qaeda, specifically some politics created by his fellow Egyptian Ayman Al-Zawhiri. Essentially Al-Adel thought Al-Qaeda should only hit easy targets and should concentrate their efforts in Northern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan.
- Egyptian SOF Colonel
- Internal mastermind of Anwar Sadat assassination
- Afghan Mujahadeen
- Wanted for his role in planning the 1998 Embassy bombing in Kenya
- Involved in Danial Pearl kidnapping and killing
- Was essentially the security apparatus chief for Al-Qaeda arranging all their movements from the mid 90s on. He also is the one who likely found the property in Asadabad that they found Bin Laden. Apparently he had a lot of high level ISI friends that went back to his days as an Egyptian Colonel, he is said to be one of the most well connected Islamists in the world
- Chief Intelligence trainer of Al-Qaeda (his intel docs have been found all over the world)
- Architect of Saudi compound assault in 2003
- Said to have role in Madrid train bombings
- Said to have been a key link from Bin Laden to Al-Qaeda Iraq on a day-to-day basis
When he went to Iran it made some sense because despite him being a Wahabbi Sunni, he has always believed that the Muslim world should largely put aside their differences and condemned the bombings of Shiite religious sites in Pakistan. It was always understood that he was not far from Herat, Afghanistan, close enough to the border that he could come and go to give orders and direction. I think Iran generally let these guys stay as a big middle finger to the U.S. but also to influence Al-Qaeda to some small degree because Al-Adel was so valuable. Sure two of Bin Laden's sons were also in Iran but the real prize was Al-Adel, and I'm sure Bin Laden made it worth their while.
Perfect scenario for Al-Adel, he just sits in Iran under a very loose house arrest and plans the destruction of the west and anyone else he doesn't like. Must kill him to see the Arab Spring happen in Egypt without being involved. Or maybe he thinks he's ultimately responsible, this is a guy with a massive ego. I think Bin Laden made a huge mistake not giving him more power in the strategic vision of Al-Qaeda, it would be a much uglier world had this guy been able to carry out all his plans (FYI, he was only loosely involved in 9/11 because it is said he vehemently opposed it).

FBI will be in full blown CYA mode now, will down play any connections to any organized group being involved. Heard on Boston radio this morning that there was a triple murder potentially on the 10th anniversary of 9-11 which includes someone well known by the older brother.Someone at the FBI is getting fired over all this.
The M4 was real enough though.A BB gun?Maurile Tremblay said:![]()

It's tough to say whether the stuff about going to class and a party, etc. constitutes a "mistake." If they went on the run immediately after the bombing it would have looked suspicious. If they thought they weren't going to be identified, it seems like the smart thing to do would be to just go on with their normal lives. The Comedian said:Wow, hadn't heard a lot of that. I agree to an extent, but some of these things are objectively dumb. I'm not sure who it would've looked "suspicious" too if they'd left and gone somewhere on Monday - nobody on the planet had any reason to pay attention to them at that time (with respect to the bombings). Screw Monday, if they really wanted to get away with it, drop the bombs at 2:30 PM, and grab a taxi to Logan, and from there, a flight out of Dodge. I think they must really have thought there was no chance they would be found out, so they just continued with their life. It's tough to say whether the stuff about going to class and a party, etc. constitutes a "mistake." Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Fake beard and wig would have probably been a good investment too. All I'm saying is that there are tons of unsolved crimes committed in this country, and lots of those people are just walking around living their lives. For those people it isn't a "mistake" to go to work or school or whatever -- it's pretty much just part of pretending you had nothing to do with the crime.I agree to an extent, but some of these things are objectively dumb. Then there's White Hat wearing his hat backwards and with no sunglasses. Had he done that, would he be in custody right now? I'm not so sure.
Overall they performed a freaking terrorist attack on US soil and seemed to not consider the possibility that they'd be identified, nor did they have any preparations for going on the run. Maybe they weren't dumb, but they certainly were not smart.
Guy posted one today that was some supposed surgeon or something from Oregon...who through pictures believes the guy who lost both legs was faking it...that he and people around him were actors and he was already a double amputee and they placed prosthetic injuries on him during the commotion. If the Internet has taught me anything it's that a frightening fraction of my fellow citizens are completely unhinged. People saw the shootout. They took pictures of it. They called 9-1-1. The audiotaped the gunfire. There's a mountain of physical evidence at the scene. A cop is in the hospital. There's a body in the morgue with injuries consistent to the known story. The other brother was found hiding nearby.
It's like the Truther Loons and their raw sewage about a plane not hitting the Pentagon despite literally dozens (hundreds?) of people on 395 who saw the plane fly low over them and crash into the building. ####### idiots. All of them.

Alex Jones and his wingnut followers scare me more than any conspiracy theory they can dream up. I find it hysterical that they believe some yahoo in his mother's basement doctoring youtube videos before they believe eyewitness accounts. Have your heard, all those people were actors, even the poor kid who had his legs blown off, he was already an amputee and his injuries were all staged split seconds after the bomb went off. I really read that yesterday. It's a sad and pathetic world we live in. These people frighten me.I know a woman who had flight 77 fly over her car on 395 and crash into her office killing several of her coworkers. She was CSAF's primary secretary, I spoke to him recently and he said she was "shaken" for months after. Couldn't even drive anymore she was so spooked. It's like the Truther Loons and their raw sewage about a plane not hitting the Pentagon despite literally dozens (hundreds?) of people on 395 who saw the plane fly low over them and crash into the building. ####### idiots. Never mind how many people would have come in contact with him (nurses, first responders...) that would have seen it was not fake...
Just utterly ridiculous.
I've read that students at UMASS Dartmouth recognized White Hat from the photos that were released, but didn't report him because it was simply beyond comprehension that the guy they knew would be the marathon bomber. The point is, I think the photos (of him, anyway, since his face was uncovered) were clear enough that someone eventually would have pointed him out.Even after the FBI released the suspect photos last Thursday evening -- given the fuzzy nature of the photos, could the bombers perhaps have escaped capture altogether if they hadn't gone off half-cocked Friday morning? If they'd have just kept laying low. The photos, alone, could never have been enough alone to come close to fingering the Tsarnaevs (assuming investigators had little to nothing in the way of real leads).
If dimwit #2 wears sunglasses and his hat forward, they wouldn't have had to go on the run. They could have walked. For someone that didn't seem to care if he got caught on marathon day, he sure seemed to care when he was running and hiding. It's tough to say whether the stuff about going to class and a party, etc. constitutes a "mistake." If they went on the run immediately after the bombing it would have looked suspicious. Possibly...and possibly the motive to release the photos is to freak out the suspects and force their hand.Even after the FBI released the suspect photos last Thursday evening -- given the fuzzy nature of the photos, could the bombers perhaps have escaped capture altogether if they hadn't gone off half-cocked Friday morning? If they'd have just kept laying low. The photos, alone, could never have been enough alone to come close to fingering the Tsarnaevs (assuming investigators had little to nothing in the way of real leads).
Initially, I was thinking "no way". But that was because I thought the released photo was the FBI's absolutely clearest shot. Turns out they had clearer ones.... I think the photos (of him, anyway, since his face was uncovered) were clear enough that someone eventually would have pointed him out.
I think Alien abductions are more likely than the 9/11 conspiracy theories.I know a woman who had flight 77 fly over her car on 395 and crash into her office killing several of her coworkers. She was CSAF's primary secretary, I spoke to him recently and he said she was "shaken" for months after. Conspiracy theories are fine at times, I consider the 9/11 ones on par with Alien abductions and whomever believes them immediately and forever loses credibility with me.
Put me in the crowd that thinks their biggest mistake was hanging around. If they had a getaway planned, they could have been on their way out of the area and on a plane to anywhere in eastern europe or in the world for that matter before they were even on anyone's radar. After the photos went out, people everywhere here had their eyes peeled. A guy who knew the older brother said he recognized him when he saw the photo, said "that looks like Tim". Put it off until he saw the younger brother and then knew it had to have been him. Of course this dope was just seeing the pictures the first time on Friday morning. By that morning they already had better pictures of the guys released. Like this and the other one of the younger brother shown running from the scene. No doubt they would have been recognized here. Everyone had their eyes friggin peeled on Thursday night and Friday. Like I said Thursday night, if they were in the Boston area, they'd have them soon. There are no caves to live in in greater Boston, they had to pop up sometime and make a mistake sooner or later. A mistake made in greater Boston would surely and did surely get them caught. If they popped up in eastern europe and found refuge and protection there, they would have been a lot more difficult to capture.Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Fake beard and wig would have probably been a good investment too. All I'm saying is that there are tons of unsolved crimes committed in this country, and lots of those people are just walking around living their lives. And this has been the saving grace with most of these knuckleheads. Because most and dumber than a stone to begin with to get talked into doing this stuff, they get caught. With a few simple changes to their plan they would have walked away scott free and thankfully our diligent folks on the innerwebs continue to point out these kinds of mistakes so the next round of knuckleheads will be that much better equipped to succeed. These two were not the sharpest tools in the shed.
