Chargers form practice squad

The Chargers formed their practice squad Sunday, and the eight-man group is made up of players who were with the team in training camp.

Safety Tra Battle, running back Eldra Buckley, defensive ends Andre Coleman and Keith Grennan, defensive tackle Louis Leonard, offensive tackle Tony Pape and linebackers Nick Roach and Jyles Tucker make up the eight-man squad.

Also Sunday, the club reached an injury settlement with guard Erik Robertson and he was released. Robertson was placed on “Reserve-Injured” on Tuesday after suffering a foot injury during training camp.

Wide receiver Greg Camarillo and offensive lineman Cory Lekkerkerker, two players that the Chargers released Saturday, were claimed on waivers by the Miami Dolphins Sunday. Camarillo and Lekkerkerker both played two seasons with Miami Head Coach Cam Cameron during Cameron’s tenure as the Bolts’ offensive coordinator.

The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals have claimed DE Quentin Moses off waivers. Moses, the Raiders' third-round pick this year, was cut late this week. Moses, 6 feet 5, 260 pounds, was beaten out by a fifth-round selection, DE Jay Richardson.

The Steelers agreed to terms with eight players for their practice squad today.

Seven of the eight practice squad players participated in the Steelers' training camp this year, including WR Dallas Baker, TE Jon Dekker, S Grant Mason, DE Ryan McBean, DT Scott Paxson, C Marvin Philip and WR Gerran Walker. RB Jamaal Branch, who spent the 2007 preseason in the New Orleans Saints training camp, is the only player on the Steelers' practice squad who was not in the team's preseason camp.

Bills

WGR 550) - Orchard Park native Jon Corto's career with the Buffalo Bills isn't over yet. The safety was signed to the Bills practice squad today after being cut on Tuesday.

Joining Corto on the practice squad are OL Christian Gaddis, DL Corey Mace, WR Scott Mayle, OL Nevin McCaskill, TE Derek Schouman and WR Justin Jenkins.

Saints PS

The players signed were guard Tim Duckworth, fullback Kevin Dudley, defensive end Willie Evans, linebacker Marvin Mitchell, quarterback Tyler Palko, cornerback Anwar Phillips and safety Chris Reis.

NOTES: RB Antonio Pittman, who was waived yesterday, was claimed off of waivers by the St. Louis Rams … RB Jamaal Branch was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to their practice squad, and CB David Jones was claimed off of waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals.

 
Eagles were awarded two players on waiver claims, S J.R. Reed, and LB Pago Tagofau. (sp?)

Obviously these moves will tip the balance of power in their favor.

Fontel Mines (TE)

Anthony Oakley (OG)

Tyler Reed (OG)

British running back Jermaine Allen is also on Chicago’s practice squad, but he is exempt from the roster limit because of the NFL’s International Development Practice Squad Program.
