Fair market value for Hakeem Nicks? (1 Viewer)

I inquired about trading Foster/S.SmithNYG for Nicks/Charles..but he wasn't interested. Thought it was a pretty good offer from me.
Not a bad offer. But don't blame him for turning it down.Need to offer a better WR than Smith in the deal. Nicks is that good. Best fantasy WR we will see for the next 10 years.

Nicks? :lmao: dude is about as close to  in the bank as you can get for a WR
Week 6: Calvin @NYG 5 catches, 146 yards, 1 TD for 29ptsNicks Det 3 catches, 8 yardsHe had 2 for 38 in week 2 and 7 for 56 in week 3. His TD saved week 2 but thats beside the point. You took my post out of context. He is an awesome WR but deciding between Nicks and Calvin each week is almost impossible to do. Nicks will probably have at least one more game where he gets few yards and zero TD but do you think you could pick that exact week and choose Calvin over him? No, probably not. It's not that it's a gamble in a same sense that you are thinking but it is a gamble deciding when is the time to count him out and plug Calvin over him and vice versa. Oh and this is in comparison to White who is insanely consistent with a high floor so it is an unfair comparison but that's the context I was speaking in considering the post was about a team with all 3.
Inconsistent to me is Lee Evans, Steve Smith, Santana Moss types....Nicks is a stud and if you don't start him every week, you're foolish. Why not trade Megatron for a stud RB?

Minor hijack, but Santana Moss is actually having a very consistent season - he's a good #2 every week just about.

and Nicks has gone full blown jermichael finley in this place. better then CJ? better then bryant? let's see him FINISH a season in the top 5 before we go crowning him. he is great so don't get me wrong, but saying he is the #1 guy for the next 10 years, not buying that.

All aboard the hyperbole wagon!! :lmao:

Someone countered Holmes for Lynch with Lynch for Nicks.

But seriously let's tone down the hype a bit here. Nicks has merely cemented himself among the game's elite. At this point he hasn't proven more than Austin, Andre, White, Wayne, Fitz, or CJ. He has just proven that he belongs in their tier and a 1-1 trade for any of these guys would be reasonable.

I agree that the Nicks hype needs to be tempered, even though he is on pace to be a top 5 WR, but consider this. Miles Austin was not on anybody's radar until last year. 81/1320/11 were his numbers last year and his ONLY good year out of the past 5. Nicks is in his 2nd year and on pace to do better than Austin in some respects. I am pretty sure Miles Austin was viewed as a top 10 receiver last year and if Nicks can do what Austin did in his 2nd year on the job, I think it warrants some hype still.

I think if Nicks and McFadden had a baby, Chuck Norris would be changing his diapers.

My entire fantasy league offered to just forfeit the season and award me the championship in exchange for saving them the embarassment of watching Hakeem Nicks blow up all over them this year. I declined of course.

If Nicks and McFadden had a baby, his turds would shoot through those diapers with the force of a Norris punch going through a wooden board. His pee would have the force of a fire-hose and be able to strip bark off trees.

Unless you're afraid Nicks' value falls off a cliff, why would you trade him for pretty much equal WR?Personally, I'm more interested in the RBs he's being traded for.

An owner in my league (keeper) offered me harvin and c.palmer for nicks.....I politely declined. He has foster, rivers, mccoy and marshall.....today I wondered if I would accept a trade of mccoy and marshall for nicks? Its ppr BTW. What combo of players of the bunch would be a good deal? I have Romo, Roethlisberger, R. Rice, R.white and vernon davis earmarked as keepers for next year (nicks would be asayq well if kept). Can keep up to two guys per position, 6 max....

was offered Fitz for Nicks in my dynasty, i passed. I originally traded Fitz but I am a big Nicks fan and he is one of my favorites. Was also asked would i take Austin for him too in a dynasty before the season and i still passed when Austin was regarded higher.

Havent heard too much about the "next 10 years" thing, but I think most people are more excited about the deal they got where they took Nicks this year. Production to ADP is outstanding, same for McFadden.

At the beginning of the season, in a dynasty league, I traded Nicks and Randy Moss for Dez Bryant and a 2011 1st round rookie pick.

My reasoning was that Nicks and Dez are pretty close but that Moss for the 2011 1st was a good move before Moss had the FF value of Rae Carruth.

How about this? I was offerered Nicks for MJD. My other RB's are: AP, Fred Jackson, L. Blount, BJGE, Woodhead.

Do I have enough depth to pull it off? I want Nicks, but I'm kinda weak at RB withouth MJD.

My WR's:

Megatron

Austin

DJack

Maclin

V-Jack

Crabtree

Gettis

As the previous poster said, your WR depth is great. Yeah, maybe Nicks outscores all of them going forward, but it won't be enough to offset the huge downgrade at RB. I fall into this trap sometimes, too, where I want a player really badly, and go out of my way to acquire him even though it may be to the detriment of my team. While Nicks for MJD might be a fair offer, it is absolutely not in the best interest of your team.

Nicks hysteria!! Just saw this go down:

Gerhart, Toby MIN RB;Woodhead, Danny NEP RB;Nicks, Hakeem NYG WR

for

Jackson, Vincent SDC WR;Jennings, Greg GBP WR;Moeaki, Tony KCC

The team that got Nicks joins him with Kenny Britt, Mike Williams (Tampa), and Larry Fitz. The other team had few assets and needed a sweetheart deal.

6 team league? Mjd / ap / Calvin j / Austin? I don't think you need to do that deal, but mjd is going to look great in his lineup alongside rice, Chris Johnson, and gore.

Just traded away in my standard scoring redraft league for Randy Moss, Jonathon Stewart (who was just picked up off the ww), and Dustin Keller.

Thats not nearly enough in a redraft, its an insult in a dynasty league.

I traded for Nicks around week 2 or 3.

I'm i a dynasty league so I'm happy. But I gave up Percy Harvin, Ronnie Brown, and Donald Driver for Nicks, and Cutler.

I agree.... as of right now Steve Smith will always play 2nd fiddle even though he might get his points at certain weeks.Foster is a 1 hit wonder. He might have another season to start, but they did draft Ben Tate who looked really good before his injury. Tate will be the RB on the texans for years to come

I dont think Foster is the long term answer, but he might keep the job long enough to be a good FF RB in dynasty leagues. However, Jamaal Charles is one of the top 5-7 dynasty RB's and Nicks is a top 5-7 WR. Smith and Foster are both outside the top 15....IMO.

These can be lame, but well done on this one. Made me laugh.
