I am voting No just to side with the underdog. No way is this going to be the issue we all decide to agree upon. :boxing:

Yes, but I prefer shawarma... preferably lamb shawarma... with extra onions and tahini sauce... mmmm.

Baked, not fried.
Fried >>>>>>> Baked
Fried taste better (obviously, like anything).... But for health reasons, the difference in taste doesn't make it worth it to me. I'd rather stick with baked.
I'm not sure I've ever had it baked.

I have recipes at home for both though. I know the GF would prefer baked, maybe I'll make both one time and do a blind tasting.

Philly has a nice falafel place called Maoz. You basically just buy a falafel sandwich and then they have a toppings/sauce bar where you can add as much crap to it as you want. It's such a great deal because of all the additions.

Literally the only thing I can tolerate replacing meat with

A good felafel is world class food territory

Love a good falafel from Mahmoun's and their hot sauce is fantastic. They've expanded out of the city in recent years (New Brunswick, Princeton, New Haven) and I wouldn't be surprised if they kept on going so some of you guys might get lucky one day.

I lived on falafel and shawarma back when I spent a couple weeks working in London, thanks to the rest of their food being so ####ty in general. A great middle eastern community though.

While falafel is great on its own, all those veggies you throw on top can really elevate it. Love anything pickled with it.

Since I'm not Jewish or Arabic, can someone drop some knowledge on me as to what it is?
Delicious
And a  for you too chief.
chick peas in a ball, fried or baked.
There's some seasoning thrown in there too. Almost as important is that you get a good pita - not too dry, not too fragile - and good toppings. Lettuce and tomato are the standards, I like some cucumber in there as well. And the key is the tahini sauce (a sesame seed based sauce).
