Fan Duel Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Would anyone be sad if I killed the secondary lineups in On The Daily? Do any of you use those?

If I kill it, it will reduce the time it takes to run all the daily material. Not a big deal for the most part, but it would mean getting final versions of everything (including interactive value charts) posted on Sundays at about 12:15 rather than 12:30.

If people use the secondary lineups, or even just like to glance at them out of curiosity, I'll keep them. But if nobody's glancing at them, I'll make the trade-off of letting those go and getting everything posted about 15 minutes earlier.
Go for it.But please, have someone start a weekly feature intersecting the Vegas lines with potential lineups, similar to what John Lee did in his preseason article. Anything with lines (gambling related) is typically blocked for me at work, limiting my prime research time a bit. I think it would be an excellent edition to the weekly daily content.

Here's a team I like:

QB Drew Brees @ CLE

RB Giovani Bernard v ATL

RB Arian Foster @ OAK

WR Brandin Cooks @ CLE

WR Kendall Wright v DAL

WR Michael Floyd @ NYG

TE Zach Ertz @ IND

K Ryan Succop v DAL

D Tampa Bay Buccaneers v STL
Including last year and week 1 on the road, Brees averaged 295 yards, 1.4 TDs, and 1.1 INTs (in FanDuel scoring 16.3 points).

Last year at home, Brees averaged 354 yards, 3.3 TDs, and .3 INTs (in FanDuel scoring 27 points).
Great post, that's very significant and what I get for going on feel alone.-Brees

-Cooks

and back to the drawing board a bit. :D
Not using Brees as I feel at the high end there are QBs I like better like Rogers and Luck. But I'm considering sprinkling in Cooks some.

I already do this for my weekly routine, Hulk...I can probably incorporate it into my Thursday 'Tips & Picks' piece on QB's and WR's.

I might even be able to get it into Wednesday's edition of 'Tips & Picks' starting next week.

Also, we want to bring subscribers content that is informative, useful, and, most importantly, wanted...don't be afraid to make suggestions.

I do look at the secondary lineups some, because before Dodd's FanDuel value chart comes out, its one of the only ways to review the handful of players with the best value. But, it's also accessible somewhat with the interactive value chart now. But I definitely appreciate things coming out quicker.

I second the vegas lines part - maybe something like top 5 games with the highest vegas line to target vs. top 5 games to avoid with the lowest vegas line.

What if you did secondary lineups until the final Sunday posting? That way, when we're mashing out our research, we have more to look at, but then on Sunday the optimal comes out sooner.

We know Crowell is going to get touches in Cle (maybe red zone too), but how is West not guaranteed 20 touches? Still too risky in cash games for 5300? One of these guys seem like a great GPP play. I'm fighting with homerism on this one. Is Toby really a better play at 5800?

Maurile,I look at your secondary lineups to help with alternative lineups to my main. But totally understand if you drop them for time. Btw- Jess (from RB) says hi

Good idea. :hifive: I'll leave the secondary lineups on the site; I just won't update them within 90 minutes of any kickoff time. The time-stamp on the projections will still accurately reflect when each set of lineups was updated, so hopefully it won't cause confusion.

Oh, hey Dan! Please tell Jess I say hi right back at her! (Does she have a message board account as well?)

Will do. No I tried to keep FBG from her over the years so I could maintain my edge in our league! Lol. She just started checking out the site this year but doesn't have an account and doesn't go into the forums.

Keep up the great work. You and the rest of the guys here are doing a great job. I turned a buddy on to the site this year and just today he told me it's the best $30 he's ever spent.

It seems to me that most GPP players will be down on Romo/Dez in week 2, following the week 1 debacle. I think I may go contrarian in a couple of lineups, and plug in Romo and Dez, in hopes that they will hook up for a couple of TD's.

I also like the Dalton/Green hookup that someone else already mentioned (Dirty Bird, I think?). With M. Jones and Eifert also now out, Dalton will be locked in even more on A.J. Could be an 8 rec/200yd/2TD type of day for Mr. Green.

Palmer/Floyd is a cheap stack I was looking at, but I like the Romo/Dez bounce back too. Rodgers/Nelson at home after getting embarrassed last week is another

Thanks! That's always great to hear.

I hope Jess didn't rub the Vikings' dominance in your face too much last Sunday. :)

What about Brees/Cooks? I would think we'd see Haden on Colston leaving Cooks to have another solid game.

Brees is not the same on the road. Avoid this week.

And maybe Palmer on a short week/east coast game may not be the week to try him. This will only be my 2nd attempt at DFS, so mainly trying to get insight from you guys.

Looking forward to this week. Absolutely horrible Week 1 for me. I think I'm going to work on diversifying some more this week. Rolling with Hill in almost all leagues to free up money to grab Jamaal Charles was the dagger.
I did the same, but grabbed McCoy instead, so wasn't burned.

This week, I am on Cassel ($6400), Vereen ($6800), Sanders ($6900), Hilton ($6400), & Edelman ($6400), which saved me enough to land McCoy and Graham.

I would avoid Brees on the road, playing outside on grass, but an argument could be made for starting Cooks.

The Palmer/Floyd could pay off if Palmer has time to throw the deep ball. The Giants D is underrated though, and will have the home field advantage. I think they will get some pressure on Palmer. Also, I see this as a low-scoring game, something like 17-13, so not sure there is much upside for the Palmer/Floyd stack.

I am a extreme novice to DFS and use draft kings instead of fanduel...here a few teams I've built but not pulled the trigger on.

1)

Locker (7100)

Foster (7,000)

Gio (6,300)

DT (7,000)

Hunter (4,300)

Wayne (5,300)

Ertz (4,800)

Gore (4,900)

Bucs D (3200)

2)

Rodgers (7900)

Foster (7000)

Gio (6300)

DT (7000)

Cobb (6400)

Hunter (4300)

Gates (3200)

T West (4800)

Bills D (3000)

3)

Locker (7100)

McCoy (8200)

T West (4800)

DT (7000)

K wright (5800)

Hunter (4300)

Witten (3800)

Vereen (5900

Bills D (3000)

This is the lineup I will most likely be rolling out in quite a bit of h2h, and 50/50

West is the obvious here -- I'm guessing he'll be on about 15% of rosters.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on Kaep -- should be a highish scoring game.

Philly and Indy -- gotta be some gold in there from a WR/TE standpoint. Who will it be and where is the value, that's what I'm stuck on.

Also like GB WRs this week. I think they'll both have good games. Leaning Jordy, although he's a bit more expensive

Draftkings was a struggle for me this week, just couldn't seem to make anything work.

I did like the Fitzpatrick/Johnson combo for a few GPP leagues.

Also liked Shonn Greene this week as I see a TD coming.

Gio, West, AJohnson, Jordy, Graham, Hawkins...all guys I thought looked good over there.

I just swapped out all of my Houston D's for Seattle. SD coming off a short week and down their center, I have to think Seattle will be all up in there disrupting plays.

I like Greene as well. He played more than any other Tennessee RB last week. No reason to think he can't punch in a score against Dallas this week.

Is anyone putting anything in tonight's game? I put one lineup out there with Flacco at QB, but it is hard to get excited about this matchup so I'm probably leaving it at one lineup.

Looks like a complete fade to me and hope to get put against someone that likes the Thurs action.

:goodposting:

I have warmed up to the Seattle D after learning that the Chargers lost their starting center. With the Bolts ground game limited, and falling behind on the scoreboard, I can see Rivers getting pressured into throwing a pick or two, to go with about 3 or 4 sacks, and throw in a fumble recovery for good measure. Seattle will have almost 4 full days of extra rest compared to the Bolts.

This game has Seattle blowout written all over it.

No cheap QBs for me this week. I do like Greene especially in 50/50 as I feel his floor is fairly high but his ceiling isn't too high. I like a lot of low to mid cost WRs this week like Hunter(a lot cheaper than Wright on DK), Wayne, Decker, Hilton, Hawkins. I also do like Jordy at a bit higher cost. At GPP will go cheap at TEs but elsewise stick Graham mainly with Thomas sprinkled in.

I tried building this lineup on DK and I don't know how you have enough $ left over for Jimmy in your flex...

my initial impression is that there are more experienced players on DK.. which kind of makes sense since a strong player would prefer the kicker position to be eliminated. so if your goal is to make money, it seems fanduel is the move, at least for now.

with that said, i play on both FD and DK right now. FD matched my initial deposit up to $200, while DK matched up to $600. hard to pass that up. and i like playing on both so i can compare how each site is valuing players against eachother.

got murdered week 1 (105 pts)

This week going with:

Luck

Gio

West

DT

Cobb

Nicks (I see a TD or two)

Ertz

Succop

Bucs

Hunter limited again today. Have him in almost all my lineups may need to change things up.
Appears first report was incorrect, Hunter practiced in full today. At 4300 looks like a great value on DK. On fan duel his price is good but not as good.

Mine are looking very similar to this so far.
Mine too. You'd think everyone is using similar projections  .

Here's my Thurs lineup for about 7 total 50/50, h2h. Luck, Gio, Forte, Garcon, Wayne, Tate, Olsen, McManus, TBB.

I will likely change Forte for Gerhart if ankle looks good Sunday to upgrade WR for some of the Sunday games .

I'm all in on Colts this week it seems. My current GPP has Luck, Wayne, Allen. Not sold on 3 from same team, but Allen is cheap allowing for some more salary elsewhere. Hopefully this is a better week for me.

I posed the question above after not seeing any West traction in the thread....is Gerhart really a better option than West? And West is cheaper. Crowell could be a wildcard and I'd understand that reason to choose Gerhart.

Id put Gerhart over West as he is involved in the passing game and its not clear the browns will involve either back in the passing game. Also Crowell will likely get the goal line work hurting West TD chances.

Gerhart is projected 3 points more than West on the average of MT, DD, and SB. I looked at Cle after Crowell's 2 TD last week and decided that I think that backfield has too many questions for me on a cash game. In GPP, I might consider West or Crowell if the extra $$ gets me a stud WR/TE somewhere else.

Is there a way to create a private game with friends that has an open number of spots? Everything I see has to have the exact number of people that will be in the league and if it's not that exact number the league will be void.

ETA: fanduel

I like Forsett for his price. I think the Ravens are down on Peirce and I don't think they are going to pass 60 times again this week.
