Called them a week ago and got a refund and joined MFL. Couldn't be happier. I encourage everyone to try and get a refund. Vote with your cash.

I'm back on Fanball this year after being away from it for 3 or 4 seasons... It's laughable how it's actually worse than it's ever been. You'd think there would've been nowhere to go but up, but nope.

In all fairness, Fanball usually has these types of problems pretty well smoothed out by week 8 or so.

I heard on fantasy football podcast from some guys who used to work there that they fired their entire staff. It is worse than ever. Almost unusable. I can't believe we paid money for it this year.

I have no problem with them laying off their entire staff - that's actually a step in the right direction for them since the site has historically sucked.

Every year the site is terrible for the first couple of weeks or so, almost like every year they are surprised by the amount of customers that they have and the bandwidth required by them. It took me the entire first half to just reach the site, forget loading live scoring. I wish my commish would forget the fact that the history of the league is there and just move to a better service already,

Yes. We haven'treally been able to make proper transactions. Even till today no one can pickup a free agent. Apparantly when you exchange a $1 player for another it put you over the salary cap. Yes, it isn't subtracting the dollar for the player you dropped. This is also what prevented blind bids from running the last two weeks. That hasn't worked at all either. I had to run them manually this week. The week before, blind bidding hung up after half of one bid. It just said "Claims are currently being processed." I couldn't even see the bids. I had to call to get it unstuck. But I had to sort out the bids myself.So now people are calling or emailing me so I can pick guys up for them. It's very quaint. All I need is a USA today.Also I had to redo the scoring cause that got messed up in the rollover.There's a bunch of other stuff too. Like they discontinued the mobile app with no notice after people paid for it calling it and "oversight".The draft room was great for us though.

Yep, was a good site until then. Every year since it's the same thing with them skimping on bandwidth for the first few weeks. We have been able to use the live draftroom once in the last 4 years. Every other time we either couldn't access it or it locked up mid-draft.I think what is even worse is they have NEVER done anything for my league to compensate for dropping the ball despite our (misguided) loyalty. Usually they send a lame email response. This year they didn't even bother to respond. I've stupidly put it up to a league vote in the past, and people wanted to stay there because of our league history. I'm making the executive decision this time. Done and done.

Is this the second time they fired the whole staff? I know shortly after the original owner sold, they canned everybody but 1 guy, but that had to have been a couple years ago. I heard on a podcast that the tech guys don't play Fantasy Football.
I have a commish who refuses to switch too, but it is because he could not transfer on scoring rule we have over to MFL. That was 5 years ago. I am sure they would make it work now, but he won't try it.

Same here! We've been there for roughly 7 years and I think each and every year I've wanted out but I can find a site that would be able to transfer our history. MFL had a deal where they would transfer the history and give half price discounts for all new leagues hut after reviewing their history set-up I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm sure (hoping) that maybe CBS could do somthing like that with the history but I can't find a contact to ask anyone, at this point I'll pay the extra money for the peace of mind. I will say though (with the exception of last night) I haven't experianced half the problems mentioned here and whenever I call their 800 number for help they resolve the issue within minutes.

Really screwed me in the drafting as well.
Since about every person in my league lives in a different city, we did an online draft. the person in front of me did auto draft, and every other round it was autodraft me when I was behind him. Needless to say, I figured out I have to have my picks in the queue or it would just pick whoever FB thought was my best pick. I missed a lot of steals in the first 4 rounds.

We left fanball for MFL in one league, I am still there in another, and have cbs for a 3rd.
In terms of the live scoring - I prefer Fanball to MFL - CBS probably in the middle.
I was able to log in and get to the live scoring last night. It did crash twice, but just reloaded the page and it worked fine.
Our biggest issue last year was with the live draft - but this year it worked fine.
I probably would not start a new league with Fanball - but I don't think it is as terrible as it comes across.

I left Fanball three years ago. But, before I left, I grabbed every single page with our (5-year) history - stats, records, everything. So, I have them archived somewhere in case I ever move to a system that allows that stuff to be imported.

I've been with Fanball for years and never had any serious complaints. Yeah, it might run a bit rough very start of the season due to server overload, but that's understandable. This year is a different. Since they were bought by NBC it has gone to crap.
-Can't properly post photos
-Lineup and scoring had to be readjusted (in an unituitive fashion)
-Live draft room was very dodgy
-Live scoring is f'd up (unless Big Ben really did score 290 points last night)
Total dumpster fire.

I didn't have a problem with Fanball before but this year it is something different. ALOT of stuff is so out of whack, I think this season will be a nightmare over there.

Trying to convince my league mates to switch over to MFL for $44.95. They supposedly transfer all of the league history. What good is league history though, if they can't get any of the numbers/stats right? Driving me nuts. It's been 14 hours since the end of last night's game and the scores are STILL screwed up. And there was only ONE game! Can't wait to see what will happen on Sunday. The four of us out there that actually make it on the site need to post the ridiculous shananigans we find.

I dont recall what history was available on fanball, but for CBS, I can see scoring records (top 3 fro highest, lowest, gamehigh, avg game score, winning %, margin of victory, point differntial, winning/losing streaks, transaction reports) for any year, and history of the league, team scoring records, standings for any year.Think that is everything, but any other details I can check on.

For the people that are saying "I'm on Fanball and it's not bad for me," I've been in multiple leagues there before on different servers. Some would run smoothly while others basically shut down every Sunday before kickoff and at halftime, but they've ALL eventually had problems when they move leagues around and consolidate (*cough* get cheap *cough*) about bandwidth. So if you're running smoothly this year you dodged a bullet--don't expect it to last into future seasons.
Now I would think the partnership with NBC would be a good thing in terms of money to get things right. Surely NBC doesn't want their name associated with such a crappy product. However, I don't think we'll stick around to find out.

I'm new to Fanball and I promise you I will never use it again. Our site has nearly totally frozen up on the eve of the season. We can't add, trade or drop players and their player update feature isn't working. Words can't express how poor this site has been and those are just the issues we have encountered over the last 24 hours.Fanball is a very poor service. We will be asking for our money back if this keeps up.

CBS can't "transfer" history, but if you're that torn, you can add it manually.You can add standings, league records, awards, league winners, etc. But you would need to hand enter.

Not only is Fanball is a poor site, they will not even acknowledge our league's complaints. There is a message posted at the top of the page saying that they are aware of the issues, BUT PLEASE DON'T E-MAIL US. Call and get your money refunded. MFL will switch you to their site for $45. I did this last week with no regrets. I needed preseason transactions to be working and had to keep going back and editing our draft manually as people added and dropped with zero support response from numerous requests.

Set up our free trial on MFL then called Fanballs cust service # and just told we were unhappy and wanted to get a refund, no hassles, guys name was Jack.Asked us to check back next year when they get the bugs worked out-OK
Been there for 5 years and never had any major issues except with the live drafting, until this year.
It was faster getting a refund and spending 4 hrs setting up the new league then it would have been to wait for live scoring to download.
BTW-you can import history to mfl and copy/paste rosters. MFL responded in less than an hr to questions and told me about the roster copy/paste.
Set it up Tuesday, had all owners up and happy by Wednesday

I'll just chime in here and log my complaints with fanball also. We've been there for quite awhile, and this year has been horrible. Pretty much the same problems as everyone else.
We most likely won't be back next year.
ETA: I just went to our Fanball site to look at Free Agents. Turns out I can't sort players by their stats, the only way to view them is alphabetical. Ridiculous.
