I'm sorry if this has been covered previously; I'm new here, so please heap abuse on me. If so, a link to the thread would be much appreciated.

How many different lineups do people use each week, and why? I've tried everything from 1 to 20, and I'm beginning to settle on 6-8 as the optimum, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something in my thought process.

I know you are asking for heaps of abuse, but I'll be nice anyway.

3 to 8 lineups usually but I typically have 50% overlap players between lineups.

I usually have 2 different lineups for the 50/50s and double ups with a little overlap. I will use possibly a 3rd lineup for the Sunday only contests. GPP lineups will depend on how many different entries I have.

There's no simple answer here. It depends on the percentage of your bankroll that you're wagering each week (larger percentage justifies more lineups), the ratio of cash games to tournaments you're playing (larger proportion of tournaments calls for more lineups), and how many different sites you're playing at (more sites calls for more lineups because there's naturally less overlap per lineup). Among other things.

I've been doing 100+ lineups per week lately, but that's mostly tournaments spread over 13 different sites.

How long does it take you each day to set these?

I think it's been taking about 3-5 hours on Saturday night. I haven't been counting, but it definitely takes a while.

I'm going much lighter this week (just because I've got other stuff going on), and then plan to ramp it up again after that.

Maurile's post brings up an interesting question. It would seem that using different sites would be an immense help in lineup diversification, but 13 sites! I play chess, poker and played blackjack using Uston's APC, but that's a LOT of variables to spin around in your head when making decisions! How do you objectively rate lineups across all those different sites (with their different scoring systems and game formats) to determine the ones you want to start?

And thanks for the replies.
