hahaha...love the lapdances, very nice touch? You have league openings? haha I do like the idea of the league taking down some money to spend on everyone for fun vs one person winning it all...very good. Have to think about doing that in my league for next year.
I found these online and they look really good wondering if anyone has seen them or purchased one? Do you like them or not? Have you found others you would recommend?

I did a google image search, lots of good stuff out there, actually more than I thought there would be, and lots of crap too though. I'd be interested to see what other ones people may have purchased.

We are mainly concerned with cash but in addition, we are ponying up for a traveling trophy. Most of the stuff on the sites are pretty embarassing and none of our guys would want anything like them around their office or home (wives wouldn't let them). I bought a nice, decent-sized bronze statue (7" x 11") on ebay and will have a base and custom plaque created. Not cheap but will be something that will look nice and people will really want. Not like the trophy on "The League." Happy to post pics when we get done. I estimate it to be around $350 total ($250 bronze statue).

The traveling trophy in this article looks really nice. Funny videos of side bets too...I guess you could award the last place finisher of your league a "wife slap" as punishment.

We have a trophy that we bought about 9 years ago, the year we expanded to 16 teams (and since went back to 12). Each team pitched in something like 6 bucks, yeah we purposely did it when we had so many teams. Now the winner each year keep it from January until January and the only time it is out of their possession is for the draft when we draw each round of picks from it. Also at the end of the year the Commish goes through and hands out some individual awards, last year= http://www.franchise-sports.com/09/awards.html. he has some formula saved in an excel file that gets updated each week and than we vote on the final award usually.
Thank you everyone for your responses. Lots of good information out here and definitely has me thinking. I really like the idea of making one but most likely will settle on buying one as I most likely wont have the time to do it and to be quite honest, I'm just not that crafty. thanks again everyone! That's the one we have - they messed up the plate on the side - names were too big, but it's been passed and engraved for the past 15 years. I ordered that like year 7 and had all the prior winners added

We got a trophy a few years ago for our league now in its 10th year. We hit up ebay during the offseason, and found a simple but nice one for about 55 bucks shipped with up to 12 engraved individual plates, and one big main plate. It has a little football dude on the top, and has 4 sides to it. Probably 12 or 15 inches tall. Simple, but effective.
Hit up ebay -- you'll find alot of decent deals rather than going through these bigtime sites. Sure, it won't be quite as nice and professional, but if you're looking for something reasonable that most of your owners probably aren't going to be keeping on their fireplace mantle anyway...check it out.

We use a plaque with SuperBowl and Runner-up names engraved. Plates cost $6 each year to engrave. In addition we have a toilet seat that the person that comes in 15th place signs and has to hold on to. The following year the toilet seat owner is considered the beeetch and has to get everyone's beer or beverage of choice as well as hang the stickers on the draft board.

Hit up a local trophy shop. Most are kinda mom & pop kinda places. They usually cater to the bowling leagues, and little leagues, but should have a decent selection of football ones that can be customized to suit your tastes. I got one that was pretty nice for about $50 with a nice wooden base to add a plate with the league winner, team name and year every year and resin Football guy on top.
Another idea from a different league is to get an used or unclaimed trophy from a bowling league and swap out the bowler guy for a football one. By and large these things are pretty modular so swapping out pieces is pretty easy/cheap.

That's exactly what I did........found an old Pop Warner trophy of mine and just had the name plate re-engraved. It's kind of "vintage looking" and that makes it cool.

I get a championship hat made each year for the winner. Team name and name of the league on the front, the owner's name on the back, and the years they have won on the side. All past champions bring their hats to the draft and talk smack. Relatively inexpensive ($10) but the guys like them! Some guys wear them and some display them on a shelf.

We do a signature football in which the winning team signs their team name and proceeds to keep the football for the rest of the year then they have to send it to the new winner the next year.
I certainly have tons of old trophies laying around but they are the cheap plastic crap. Was looking for something funny that fits the whole fantasy football theme but a bit more prestigious. Think I found the one I'm going to get but can't decide on which one armchair or pig?What do you think?Nemesis said:

I'm definitely digging the shoe polish color a bit but I'm not sure that is very prestigious and perhaps should just stick with the gold. thoughts from fellow fantasy footballers?

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I seem to recall there was a site that would make a team picture for your fantasy team with the NFL players and you could upload a picture of yourself to be included as the team manager. Does this ring a bell with anyone (or anything similar)?
For those of you guys that have traveling trophies, how do you go about making sure every owner gets the trophy each year? What do you do about packaging to make sure the trophy doesn't get damaged while shipping? How big do you like the trophy to be if it's going to travel from season to season? What do you do about the cost of shipping?
team portrait is a bit weak in my opinion...I mean where would I put that thing where my wife wouldn't spit on it? That is definitely another consideration I didn't think about when looking at trophy, if its too big my wife wont let me put it out, if its too ugly my wife wont let me put it out. It has to be in that nice zone..

Why not buy the winner of your league a jersey of his or her choice? I am implementing this in my league next year. Something everyone would want. I found a place that has mitchell and ness authentic throwbacks for pretty cheap. If they aren't real, they are really close because I can't tell the difference.
