Fargas - What's his value? (1 Viewer)

What do folks think of Fargas's value going forward now that he has been named the starter. I have him in two leagues (one dynasty and one redraft), but the several offers I have seen have been of the lowball variety.

In the long-term, it seems the thinking is that Bush will eventually take over. I can't understand the low value in a redraft. He seems like a good RB 2-3 (depending on league size) going forward. Lamont looks more or less done after his back injury. Fargas is averaging 5.4 yards a carry and has looked good in the two games he was given a starter's share of the carries.

So what do folks think? Does Fargas keep up his value or is time to sell-sell-sell?

As long as he's healthy, I think he'll be a good RB2. That said, he's had a problem staying healthy when given opportunity in the past. If you can tolerate two spots on Raiders RBs, grab Bush as the handcuff and you should be fine.

Don't expect much in terms of a trade until he puts together a few more weeks of good performances to ward of the past injury memories.

Fargas is also a UFA after this year, so this is his time to showcase his skills and raise his FA value. I don't know how long Oakland will start him and keep Bush on the bench, but I'd say if Fargas does well he could land a starting gig elsewhere next year. He was a high draft pick a few years back...

I am kind of inclined to sell. Oakland's schedule does not look too sweet.

To answer your original questions, I am not sure what you can get for him. His value is probably very different depending on team's needs.

ETA: I would guess he is most tempting to a Lamont owner.

Fargas wasn't a high draft pick. Also he's been in the league for quite some time, i highly doubt any team would be comfortable going into the season with him as their starter.I think best case scenerio for him next season is maybe getting into some kind of RBBC.Redraft wise he's got some decent value, he'd be a nice RB3 and could be a RB2 in a pinch.Dynasty wise i don't think he has much value at all, i'd bet he'll be put back on the WW by his owners at some point next season.

FWIW -

I just traded Fargas to the Lamont owner for Andre Johnson. Hopefully AJ gets back in Week 11 and Houston gets back in the groove.

I know lots of folks were high on Fargas after his rookie season, but the Raiders have never really let him run as the lead dog. Part of it was due to injury, but was there more to it than that?

Fargas had a big game last week and has another decent matchup against DEN. Anybody know why Lamont Jordan vultured a TD at KC?
