WTF, you can't just close your eyes?raise your hand if you are now going to google/you tube Phoebe....

I often find myself using the "you gotta ace that jacket" line.'Evilgrin 72 said:I think Damone has three of my favorite throw-away lines ever in this movie.Damone (never having touched the iced tea) : "Hey, this is great iced tea!"Stacy : "Sometimes I ride with my brother, but he works mornings and then drives himself to school."Damone : "What a guy."Brad : "Could you try to keep it down, I have some work to do inside."Stacy : "OK."Damone : "Who's his tailor?"

When Stacy asks if he's going to buy a yearbook: "I know what I look like."
"I woke up in a great mood -- I don't know what the hell happened!"
"Found your wallet... WANT IT BACK?"
Not to mention..."I can see it now, Rat, it's gonna be just like last summer. You fell in love with that girl at the Fotomat, you bought $40 worth of f##king film and you never even talked to her. You don't even own a camera !"
I was just about to post that last line. Perfect. You are a wuss; part wimp and part #####."didn't you feel it?One of the most underrated characters ever. Never thought he would be a one-pump chump. Didn't see that coming.
No pun intended.

Another great one...As the years fly by, I appreciate Jennifer Jason Leigh's nude scenes more. Maybe because I'm getting older and she stays the same age. But she was overshadowed (understandably) by Phoebe's legendary pool scene.

Now, don't forget about the 14-point spread.Brad: Hope you had a hell of a piss, Arnold!
Hard to think of a better character in any movie ever. Maybe Styles from Teen Wolf was in his league. 30 years later I still can't have iced tea without quoting Damone. One of the most underrated characters ever. Never thought he would be a one-pump chump. Didn't see that coming.
Lot of wisdom in that line. The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays... whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you have that... you have the attitude.
What are you, 20?Didn't see this movie until later in my life. Eh, wasn't that great.
The 3-second slo-mo shot of him jumping up and down and celebrating at the end of Teen Wolf is one of my favorite 80s movie moments.Hard to think of a better character in any movie ever. I was 14 when it came out and really had no interest in seeing it.What are you, 20?Didn't see this movie until later in my life. Eh, wasn't that great.
"$75 and a ride" is another big quote around my house. It's $150.... at the free clinic.Doesn't sound free to me.
"Fast Times" was one of the films that we studied in college, as part of a required course for my major. Back in 1997 or so, most of the kids in the class were born in the late 70s. Less than half had seen the film before, including me.What are you, 20?Didn't see this movie until later in my life. Eh, wasn't that great.

It's been a while. It's the same movie in a different setting, high school instead of college. A lot of the setups are identical... picking up the girl at the grocery store or the mall as if women are items to be acquired, sleeping with her on the sports field (played for laughs in Animal House, but reversed in Fast Times as it's an unsatisfying experience the girl is uncomfortable with, all she does is stare at the light on the ceiling and wait for it to be over). In Animal House they borrow Flounder's older brother's car and trash it, in Fast Times they trash LC's older brother's (Jefferson's/Forrest Whitaker's) car. A bunch more, but it's been 15 years and I don't remember them all. "Animal House" has a bit of a downer view on the younger generation, while in the end "Fast Times" is more upbeat.Vidguy if you're still around, please expound upon this a bit more.Took a class on this movie in college. It's great to watch it right after viewing Animal House and seeing Fast Times rebut that movie point by point.
I was about that age when it came out as well. I can't comprehend a teenage boy NOT wanting to see it.Yes, Jesus was a dude. I used to pretend I was whacking off to Phoebe Cates' meat balloons, but in reality I was whacking off to Judge Reinhold whacking off to Phoebe Cates' meat balloons.I was about that age when it came out as well. Probably because I knew that I no chance in seeing it. All we had was a drive-in and being 13/14, I knew that I had no chance in getting in to see it.I guess by the time I was old enough to see it, I had no interest, so didn't see it until I was in my late 30s.I was about that age when it came out as well. I'm beginning to see a trend from this poster known as collective.
