favorite 'techno' song... or (1 Viewer)

Not completely sure if this fits into this catagory, but I was recently introduced to "Thievery Corporation"... has a bit more of a funk/raggae/electronica vibe to it... very nice. Check out these two tracks to see if you like them...- Warning Shots- Lebanese Blonde
huge fan of TC and other "downtempo" or "chillout" music:AirMorcheebaMassive AttackLebanese Blonde is a real keeper - mmmm sitar
I liked the clip I heard from Lebanese Blonde enough that I just bought the album it's on - thanks.

Make sure all of you get some Seb Fontaine. Great stuff. For an example, look up the single for his remix of:

Placebo "Passive Aggressive."

They had no Seb Fontaine at eMusic, unfortunately. It has a weird library, but is very cheap.

On the other hand, if I were to purchase an old CD that noboby wanted anymore...

Big fan of both. The lead singer from Brazilian Girls has an uber-sexy voice :pickle:

Don't stop, don't stop.... until I come

"Corner Store" is also a good tune.

Kruder & Dorfmeister's "The K&D Sessions" is definitely a must for fans of Lounge / Trip Hop.

Olive's "Extra Virgin" is another decent disc.

Firstly, my favorite radio station also offers podcasts - I suggest you check them out, particularly the Metropolis (my favorite) and Nocturna shows: KCRW music - not all techno but lots of good tunes regardless (including techno, etc.).

On to artists:

Groove Armada's new album "Soundboy Rock", along with their old song "Lovebox"

Ulrich Schnauss new album "Goodbye"

Kraak & Smaak recent albums: "Boogie Angst" and "The Remix Sessions"

Various Artists: "Hush Hush volume 1"

Datarock: "Datarock"

Dephazz: "Days Of Twang"

From a bit back I'd say anything by Moloko (more dance than techno), but specifically the "Statues" album (containing songs "Cannot Contain This" and "Forever More"), and their older songs "Sing It Back" and "Fun For Me"

Chemical Brothers - "The Boxer"

Armand VanHelden "The Funk Phenomenon"

Seriously, listen to Metropolis on KCRW, you'll hear some good stuff.

this song tells a story that should be on the best sellers list.

East Clubbers - Happy

I like all of the crystal method music

I like alot of the boards of canada stuff. 1969, rue the whirl, maybe a little mellow compared to alot of techno if not in a different category.

I use yahoo music jukebox.

I was able to find about 60% of these songs streaming online with that program.

I made a playlist of everything recommended here.. if you use yahoo and want a copy of that playlist, i'll send it to you.

After trying out much of what was recommended...

I'm more into Moby, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Armand Van Helden that seemed to be what I enjoyed the most.

Although my #1 I enjoyed wasn't mentioned here: Daft Punk

I thought Television Rules the Nation, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Technoloic, Robot Rock, and the Funk (in addition to megahits one more time and around the world) were brilliant.

I don't know if you saw my note earlier, but if you like Lounge/Trip Hop, a solid double CD is Kruder & Dorfmeister's "The K&D Sessions."Also, anyone interested in jamming Hard House should pick up Lisa Lashes' "Hard House Euphoria."

Someone with more ambition that I have should put up a summary post of all the suggestions here.

The new Global Underground came out...Adam Freeland in Mexico City. The first disk is absolutely amazing. Second disk is a bit too down tempo for my tastes.

Regardless, its superb breakbeat. Definately recommend checking it out.

Anyone pick up the new Chemical Brother's this week?
anyone?
I like it.
speaking of the Chem's. I missed both of my opportunities to see them live over the past week. Flew into NYC the same night they were playing here and missed them in Chicago on Monday. My buddy had tickets for Monday nights show but ended up selling them on craigslist. Can't believe they are only doing 5 shows here in the U.S.: :goodposting: :goodposting: :goodposting: Not sure how many more tours they are going to do.

Wasn't sure if this was worth a new thread, but I saw Air in San Francisco last week and that show was awesome. Fantastic band, amazing sound quality, and good lighting to boot.
