Division championship (and automatic playoff spot) was on the line. "Ironman" Favre goes down. Goodbye season. Thanks cheesehead!! Anyone else?

ill need a miracle to win. My league gives point per completion, so ill likely be outscored by about 40 at the QB position.

Hey, if your team was so terrible that it lost three whole days before the NFL games kicked off on Sunday, you probably didn't deserve a playoff berth in the first place.I started him in one league, but there's still a lot of football left to be played.

No, he didn't cost anyone but you. I was quite pleased with the 0.24 points he got me.
I agree, I was very happy with the negative 4 points he got me in my one money league. No playoffs in that league and I'll still be in 1st even if I lose this week...and I'll likely be back to Favre next week...just like Green Bay

I hate to see players hurt by I'm playing for a playoff spot this week and my opponent started Favre over Palmer at QB. As a football fan, Favre's injury sucks but as a fantasy owner playing against him, it sure helps a lot.

No, I avoided a BULLET. Fought hard during the season and got a bye week this week. I KNEW this would be a tough game on Favre and anticipated it.

I do need him next week though as Garcia is my backup and he's hurting too.

I think he'll be allright for next week. Rotoworld is reporting:

"Brett Favre completed just 5-of-14 passes for 56 yards, no touchdowns, and two picks before leaving Thursday night’s game with an injured right arm.

It’s believed that Favre, who left in the second quarter and was replaced by Aaron Rodgers, pinched a nerve in his elbow/forearm area. The NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reported during the game that Favre had little feeling in his fingers. We’ll find out next week whether the 38-year-old’s consecutive starts streak will end at 269 games, but Rodgers at least has a chance to start in Week 14 against Oakland. Nov. 29 - 10:03 pm et"

If he is out next week, you might want Rodgers. He looked good for coming off the bench.
McCarthy is talking on ESPN right now. He said Favre has "a shoulder and an elbow"... and said "knowing Brett Favre, he'll be ready to go against Oakland next week." IMO, if the coach KNEW it was something really serious, he would never say that about next week.

Separated left shoulder... thinks he'll be able to "shoot up and play."
That is not a good injury for a QB to have, even if it is his non-throwing arm.
True, but it's Favre. The guy's checked himself back into a game with a concussion, uncleared by medical staff, and thrown a TD.I'm in deep trouble, as I have no backup QB, and I almost certainly won't have a bye next week - need a win & help and I'm down 30 at that spot to Romo - but the old guy has been money this year, and injuries happen. You take it and move on.

This thread is ridiculous. Questioning Favre is an Ironman because he got hurt during playing a violent game, and you don't think he's tough or good because it cost you a fantasy football game? Get real. The guy's a first ballot hall of famer and has overachieved from a fanstasy perspective this year, likely leading your team to your precious fantasy playoffs. And this is the thread? Lock it down mods. :lmao:

Excuse me for my ignorance but I don't understand how his performance could have cost anyone anything until after Monday night's game.

Just what you want to hear from an addict.
:loco:
He's not an addict? I don't think that's libelous. Or news to anyone. You think that's a pretty encouraging statement from someone with an addictive personality?
Last I checked cortisone shots weren't all that addictive.

He's not dead yet.Seriously, though, that's not a concern to Packers fans at all? Just like you wouldn't hire Michael Jackson to run your nursery, I can't imagine your first choice for QB to take an injection and go is a guy who has a history with that kind of thing.

Absolutely. What happened last night. He abandoned the offense that got them this far and started heaving footballs. Rogers may have won the game had they stuck with the game plan.

hahahaha, right, this thread is the stupidest ever! Whow wouldn't he have hurt? If you have Favre you probably started him, and he hurt anyone who started him, unless you are in a league that gives bonus points for under 100 passing and bonus points for INT's. What are you really asking in this thread

For those who are in playoffs right now, our opponents are teams who usually perform consistently at all the positions. When a position like QB is a virtual zero for a playoff game, there is little hope.

"He" didnt abandon the offense that got them that far. The HC and OC did. Favre just executed. When Rodgers came in they didnt have faith in what they panned for the game and went back to their regular Offense. And yes, it is a shame they didnt stick with their game plan. I still the Packers would have lost but the game would have been better.

I think the original email is of course frustration with needing a win and counting on someone that has played without injury for years on end. Getting 1 point from your QB is almost a certain loss - anybody else that does not agree does not have farve in their current weekly lineup.

Farve is nothing less than a HOF Warrior.. just that the unthinkable has happened and at the worst time for most of us counting on him.

This is exactly why I've been starting Big Ben over Favre all season long. Not the injury, you can't predict those, but you never know when one of these games is coming from Favre. There are times when the man just insists on throwing into double-coverage despite everything. It's very strange.

LOL, that's silly. So over the last 5 games Favre has averaged 348 yards/g and 2.6 td's (27.8 pts/wk) and you've been sitting him because he might have a bad game? You mean like Roths' last 2 games (195-1/165-0) (10 pts/wk)?

Silly? Not really, but to be honest, I haven't paid close attention to it since it's yahoo league that doesn't really matter to me, I basically join it as a favor to a guy at work to fill his league. But each week, Ben has either outperformed or been equal to Favre, except for the last two. And in the last two, Ben had better or equal matchups on paper. You can also throw out last week for comparison has Brett played in a Dome, while Ben played in a swamp. Couldn't predict that one.So, no not silly at all, IMO. But you're point is taken, I've been expecting a few more of these games from Favre than we've seen.
