FBG led petition (1 Viewer)

Tonight was terrible without Collinsworth.

Gumbel doesn't know players names, football rules or game strategy.

His lack of any form of game insight doesn't help his cause either.

Gumbel referred to Frank Gore as Al Gore twice tonight.

I thought ####### Harry Caray had risen from the grave (Caray used to often refer to George Bell as George Bush).

Steve Bornstein, President and CEO of NFL Network. Email would be best, but thousands of letters hitting his office on the same day wouldn't hurt either!

Maybe everyone can boycott watching the games on NFL network

Code:
Darn, that won't work, no one can watch those games anyways

I'm in. I always find it amusing that it seems Gumbel is always on a two second delay for his calls, he tells you the play after it is over.

He's terrible. It doesn't help any that he doesn't have a manly voice on top of having no enthusiam and little to no football knowledge.

Worst announcer EVAH. Mooch talking about how impressed he was with the Rams, that they were playing hard and that they were treating this like a very important game. Gumbel, the village idiot, promptly pipes something to the effect of "of course it's an important game. With that loss last week, Tomlin has these guys fired up".

I swear it's like Helen Keller calling a game. He calls balls that are bouncing on the ground complete, then "wait a second, the officials have ruled it incomplete". Can't see, doesn't listen, horrible voice, pompous - other than that I like him.

How bout in the first quarter when Isaac Bruce's sideline catch was reversed to be a catch...the crowd started chanting bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce......

Gumbel said something to the effect of there must be a lot of pittsburgh fans here because they are booing that decision...

 :lmao: :lmao:

That was my favorite line of the game!

He makes me wish they would just put Boomer Esiason in there with Dennis Miller. It is just incredible the the NFL network is sticking with that bum. I have signed the petition. Have you?

As usual, he identified a player from the other team when he said that Wilkins kicked off as the Steelers kicked off after Nate Washington's TD.

I only caught part of the game but my god ... how much more will the network allow before it accepts the reality that Gumbel is a horrible PBP guy?

I mean, jeez ... Tony Romeo? ok, it's possible that he was making a dig at Romo's public love life, but it sure seemed like he just misspoke the name and no one laughed or corrected him. And by the way, they NEVER correct the many mistakes he makes.

But what i REALLY thought was laughable was the way Gumbel almost yelled, "Davenport is hurt!!", almost exclaiming it like Najeh got run over by a truck. I mean, he was grasped, he was twisted as he was going down. ok, he was wincing in pain as he went down, but Gumbel made it seem like Najeh broke his leg or something and that his season was finished. It was too funny seeing Davenport come back in and finish the game.

And then when he announced that FWP had a broken ankle he made some comment about how FWP's season "may be over". Oh you think really think that FWP won't be coming back from a broken ankle?

I did'nt catch the part of the game where Willie parker got hurt but someone told me that Gum ball said: "justice is served in reference to Willie going down and opening the door for Fred Taylor." Poor choice of words.

I just signed it:

Willie Parker: Justice Served!

Anyone hear him mention the Saturday night matchup between the Panthers and the Cowboys, led by their QB, Tony Romeo.

:excited:

yeah ... and neither Marshall nor Deion corrected him. You know they probably made a look at each other like, "you believe this f&^ guy??"or how about him exclaiming "Davenport is hurt!!" ... he saw Najeh got his ankle twisted on the way down and jumped the gun. Yeah he got dinged on the play but Gumby was too quick to call it as an injury

Or, the comment about the Rams taking a delay of game penalty coming out of a timeout... except, the ref was motioning and saying 'false start.' What a boob.

Signed.

he then said delay of game several more times after the false start was called

talking about FWP leading league in yards and carries and saying getting "a lot of calories" was priceless

you just can't fathom the errors he makes

Actually, I heard that comment and it sounded like Faulk said it. ??? Anyway, signed.

Who was the guy that did it with Collinsworth last week? He wasn't so bad. Not great, but certainly better than Gumbo.

People - this season is the last season Gumble hys with the NFL network and they aren't signing him to a new contract .

SOOO

You don't have to take any action. Its already done.

yeah i remember that gem which leads me to believe that he's being fed dialogue in an effort to sound like someone who really knows footballl as opposed to being the talking head that he really is. I'd like to know what percentage of his comments are actually his own. When he starts throwing around formation lingo, i get very suspecious considering he goofs up the simplest calls. someone wrote that this is the last year of his contract so thisis the last year we'll have to listen to Gumby. All i can say is, "From your mouth, to God's ears"

Since I don't get the NFLN as a cable subscriber, I wrote a very sincere letter to them asking them to please resign he which is probably the greatest football announcer to ever live. I figure the karma will get me NFLN access any day now.
