2025 FBG Subscriber Contest (6 Viewers)

107455 is my second entry. In 2nd place after the noon games with 189.30 points. Pearsall points over 12.1 points would add.

My first entry is in 52nd place. Could still have James Cook, DJ Moore and Pearsall if they score over 13.70.
Did I miss the live scoring link? Didn't think we has one till next week?

149.35 + (Henry/Mason - 11.80/12.10/14.20) + (DJ Moore/Palmer - 11.80/16.90/18.40/19.80)

On to week 2. Good luck to thos sweating The Turk

Most of my gimmick fake entries looking to go down.
The "CHEAP" rooster is at 96.40 with Monangai Mitchell Knox and Santos to go.
"MIN" is at 54.40. "TOTMIN" is at 39.70.
"MAXMIN" - that is pay top dollar til you can't then minimum dollar for the rest is in good shape at 131.70 +Lamar.
The "NAMES" team is actually not too bad at 123.10 and Caleb and Bateman left

The showstopper is the "30TEAM" rooster where I have someone from 30 different teams. That one is at 160.20 with Mason Palmer Loop and Santos to go
:lmao: - might have a new strategy next year.

Sorry to hear you are wasting all those points in week one. I'm saving mine for the finals.

Did the Bungels team get eliminated in week one like every year?

30TEAM is the ultimate in diversification!

139.10

with D. Moore (-8.1)

C. Santos (-5.2)

Definitely not where I thought I would be. Figured 170 would be easy with Chase.

Last year I missed the cut by 1.95 points in week 4 when I scored 211.9 points the week before.

I thought you get 1 entry per subscriber. How are some people getting multiple entries?
I entry per subscription

Why would anyone have multiple subscriptions?
I have two. I'm only in one other league and I really enjoy the contest so why not? As long as subscription is under 50 I'll keep doing it.Plus there is the playoff contest too so its worth it to me.
I paid for two subscriptions for several years as well. This is my favorite fantasy contest and well worth the money. The last time I did it, I was tinkering up until the last minute and both teams were almost identical. Oops.

Exactly, stop wasting points.

At 140-ish before SNF. Week 2, here I come.
If Kittle is out an extended period of time, I’m in trouble.

I shouldn't complain, as my team is closing in on 200 points. But, I will anyway! I really wanted both Aaron Rodgers and Kayshon Boutte and had them on my final roster. Somehow, the submission didn't go through properly and I missed out on both of them. Guess I should have done one last check of my team's status before the Wednesday night deadline. Oh well, live and learn. 😶

Ouch ❗

Did anyone else get zero from their most expensive players?
Trevor, Chase brown, London, Kraft, all didn’t count.
With 6 players costing $15 or more, only JSN counted.
Penix, Bill, boutte, and Fanin carried the day.

My top 4 receivers all didn't count but I still had a decent week thanks to Pearsall, Egbuka & Allen. Fanin wound up my top TE as well. Interesting start to the season to say the least.

The opposite: every single one of my most expensive players counted towards my score this week (Mayfield, Jacobs, Sutton, Kittle, and even Loop). While that sounds good, 1) if Kittle is out for a few weeks, that might kill me, and 2) even with that good scoring from my top guys, I was only at 6227th place in week 1.

Let’s see if I even make my career high of Week 7 or 8 in this contest.

Time for some week 1 overreactions!

Evaluating swaps I made at the 11th hour:
Chase Brown for Pacheco: seems like a good move
Nick Chubb for Bill: likely a big mistake
Tre Tucker for D'Onte Thornton: happy this week, we'll see if it stays that way
Elic Ayomanor for Jahan Dotson: might regret that one too

Players I considered but didn't take:
- Tua - thought he was a value a lot of the contest, but after hearing the Lions - Dolphins joint practice was the most lop-sided affair anyone had ever seen, I moved away, thank goodness
- Rodgers - thought he was washed, certainly didn't look that way this weekend
- Bigsby - almost bought the preseason hype that he might start, but ended up staying away from 3-headed monster. Glad I stayed away, not even close to a RBBC there based on this week
- Nico - couldn't fit into my budget, but that O-line looks atrocious now
- Hollywood Brown - I was scared of health concerns and not being useful once Rice was back, but he could end up being a huge steal
- Deandre Hopkins - Wasn't sure how much he'd be involved, looked darn good out there, might be another steal
- Kittle - Might still regret not having him, but I shied away from the late bye, and hamstrings can linger

The good thing is place doesn’t matter at all if you’re over the cut. I’m content with being ranked 453 right now but it really doesn’t matter.

Many folks here are only showing up as a 6-digit number in the contest standings. Here is a link to possibly change to your screen name (or anything else, for that matter).

Not sure if it works, and not willing to try it, because my screen name does appear in the contest standings. Can someone who is known only as a number try the link and report back?

I tried it but after submitting my nickname it went to a Page Not Found page. ??

Thank you for trying. At least we know it doesn't work anymore now.

@Joe Bryant @FBG Moderator this would actually be kind of nice to fix

Will the week 2 prices be available Tuesday morning this season or do we still have to wait till Wednesday? Have some players I want to start next week and replace Kittle's hammy with something younger. Trying to avoid a week 2 pull from the Turk.

got a week 1 pass currently 187.5 with DJ Moore (-13.8) shot at replacing Dobbins' flex score

Prices adjust the same as they have every other year.

Well, the good news is that the Week 2 prices are already out.

Still in the contest, but feel like my team is the same as every other year. It is sufficient to get me about 2/3 of the way, but don't have enough firepower to make it to the top 250 and definitely not enough to win. I know it is just wek 1, but man I don't have a good feeling at all this year.

Really felt like everyone was overlooking Cam Ward. I know it was at Denver, but wow.
CJ Stroud seems to be a dud again as well.
Is Geno going to be my only decent QB? I will take 24 each week from him.

Bucky Irving looks to put up good, but not great numbers.
Panthers looked rough, so hoping they put it all together and Chuba gets going.
Denver looked rough, so hoping RJ is just off to a slow start and Dobbins does his usual.

Hoping Odunze turns it around this year, but the team has me worried.

I guess my TEs are better than the ones that got injured and will miss time.

I love Cam Ward, but I was not about to take a chance on a rookie QB, and here's why. . . .

Statistically, I believe there has only been 1 or 2 first year QBs in the modern age who put up great fantasy points in in their first year.

The transition from college to professional football is tougher than people think for QBs.

Based on performance and fantasy point totals, some of the most impressive rookie quarterback seasons in NFL history belong to Justin Herbert, Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, and C.J. Stroud. These quarterbacks posted elite numbers by combining high-volume passing with significant rushing production.

Justin Herbert (2020)
  • Fantasy Points: 342.8 PPR points (QB7 for the 2020 season).
Robert Griffin III (2012)
  • Fantasy Points: 306.96 points, a league-winner for many managers.
Andrew Luck (2012)
  • Fantasy Points: 295.6 points.
Cam Newton (2011)
  • Fantasy Points: 348.5 points, an all-time great rookie season.
C.J. Stroud (2023)
  • Fantasy Points: 281 points in 15 games.
Key fantasy factor: Rushing ability
The most dominant rookie seasons frequently involve quarterbacks with significant rushing ability. Rushing yards and touchdowns provide a huge boost to fantasy scores, creating a high-end fantasy profile that often outperforms more traditional pocket-passer rookies

Sigh.... Work got in the way of my fun and I had to throw a last minute entry in before the cut without the analysis and time. C'est la vie. I did make the cut though so I can cheer for a bit. I have some dart throws but we will see how it goes.
