Wow! Pretty bad when a $4 kicker gets cut after one game. (Reminds me of the Rodrigo Blankenship fiasco )

The 49ers just waived PK Jake Moody after a missed and a blocked kick this weekend.

$4 wasted by the 725 Moody owners that are still alive.

They are bringing in Eddy Piniero for a tryout at PK.

-----------------------------------------------

Also... PK Younghoe Koo is apparently also on thin ice in Atlanta.

The Falcons are bringing in Parker Romo to compete with him, and will determine which of the two kickers will be kicking this weekend.

1,805 surviving Koo owners might be short a kicker starting this weekend. Koo was also a $4 kicker
Moody signs with Chicago practice squad. Those 725 may get their kicker back at the expense of 1436 Santos owners

I would be a worried Santos shareholder if Moody had a longer leg, but the fact is, they both have weak legs. Santos is more accurate though, so I don't think Moody will overtake him.

Many folks here are only showing up as a 6-digit number in the contest standings. Here is a link to possibly change to your screen name (or anything else, for that matter).

Not sure if it works, and not willing to try it, because my screen name does appear in the contest standings. Can someone who is known only as a number try the link and report back?
I tried it but after submitting my nickname it went to a Page Not Found page. ??
Thank you for trying. At least we know it doesn't work anymore now.

Thanks. This might be something @Contest Turk can look at for this year. I do not know if it can be changed.
Still says page not found.
Yes. It's something he will take a look at. Likely won't be possible to add for this year but he'll look.

I live less than an hour from Lambeau Field and have been following the Packers since Bart Starr was QB and Boyd Dowler and Carrol Dale were his receivers. I fell victim to the Matthew Golden hype, and broke my cardinal rule this year which is, "Never draft a WR on a team coached by Matt LaFleur!" Nobody to blame but myself! 👿
It's awesome to have your 1st round WR in for about 8 snaps... NOT!!

I'm going to assume his usage will ramp up to 100% snaps by week 4. ***/u/me.

I'd like to assume he's going to see more than 2 targets per game going forward. However, I've learned from mix-it-up-Matt to assume that target counts will vary immensely for all receivers on the roster from one week to the next. I have to wonder how much even the great Don Hutson would have seen the ball thrown his way if he played for LaFleur instead of Lambeau!

Sorry if I missed it, there are a lot of posts. Was there any update on the live scoring?
@Army Eye website is still under construction...

FBG hasn't posted the data file with the contest teams (as far as I know). Still waiting on that

Check your DMs @Army Eye
I'd also be interested in having that data, so that I can do some analyses like this from last year.

My team sucks and will be out soon, but my kickers are gonna be great. Boswell, Carlson, and Loop (all $4 each) were all in double digits. It's the first year I chose to skip the $3 options, because I didn't have alot of faith in them.

@Contest Turk sent me the roster data, so I've been able to add the ownership numbers to my spreadsheet - this year's player pool is at the bottom of the first tab.

The most-rostered players are:
52% RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS $6
50% WR Emeka Egbuka TB $10
42% WR Ricky Pearsall SF $11
36% RB Chase Brown CIN $26
31% RB TreVeyon Henderson NE $18
30% TE Tyler Warren IND $14
23% WR Matthew Golden GB $12
23% RB Nick Chubb HOU $8
23% RB Jordan Mason MIN $11
22% PK Evan McPherson CIN $4

The average roster size of 20.07 is slightly above the past 2 years (19.89 & 19.99), but below any of the previous years of the past decade (min of 20.30).

Here's the positional breakdown (with a comparison to last year; check out the roster construction tab in the spreadsheet to see how it compares to other years)
QB: 2.5 for $39 (last year: 2.5 for $40)
RB: 5.0 for $80 (last year: 5.2 for $74)
WR: 6.1 for $83 (last year: 5.6 for $88)
TE: 2.4 for $29 (last year: 2.4 for $29)
PK: 2.1 for $9 (last year: 2.1 for $10)
DEF: 2.1 for $10 (last year: 2.1 for $10)
total: 20.1 for $250 (last year: 19.9 for $250)

Last year we had some $2 RBs, this year we have some $2 WRs, so the roster builds compared to last year have shifted towards more cheaper WRs and fewer more expensive RBs. This year is more typical of previous years, though usually the number of RBs is higher.

A typical roster has an average ownership is 13.3%, which is fairly typical across the past decade (avg: 13.4%) but higher than the past 3 years. If the players on your roster average a higher ownership than that, then you went for more common players; if it's lower then you picked rarer players than the typical entry.

Looking at player pairs (complete data here)

37% of all rostered QBs are stacked with at least 1 WR or TE from the same NFL team (last year: 35%)
12% of entries stacked all of their QBs (last year: 12%)

The average stacked QB had 1.22 WR+TE teammates on the same roster, so stacks are mostly single stacks rather than multistacks.
The average stacked QB had $18 of WR+TE teammates on the same roster, which is slightly more expensive (1.1x) than you'd get from the average price of rostered WR+TE.

Here are the most common QB-teammate pairings (including all positions):
5.1% NE RB TreVeyon Henderson with Maye (+1.4% over expected 3.7%)
4.8% DAL WR George Pickens with Prescott (+2.0% over expected 2.8%)
4.4% WAS RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt with Daniels (+0.1% over expected 4.3%)
3.7% SF WR Ricky Pearsall with Purdy (+1.0% over expected 2.7%)
3.6% GB WR Matthew Golden with Love (+1.3% over expected 2.3%)
2.8% JAX PK Cam Little with Lawrence (+0.6% over expected 2.2%)
2.8% DAL WR CeeDee Lamb with Presott (+1.5% over expected 1.3%)
2.7% HOU RB Nick Chubb with Stroud (+0.2% over expected 2.6%)
2.7% TB WR Emeka Egbuka with Mayfield (-0.1% below expected 2.8%)
2.7% CIN WR Ja'Marr Chase with Burrow (+1.7% over expected 1.0%)
2.4% CAR WR Tetairoa McMillan with Young (+1.0% over expected 1.5%)
2.3% LAC WR Keenan Allen with Herbert (+0.6% over expected 1.7%)
2.3% CIN RB Chase Brown with Burrow (-0.2% below expected 2.6%)
2.3% GB TE Tucker Kraft with Love (+0.9% over expected 1.4%)
2.0% DAL PK Brandon Aubrey with Prescott (+0.1% over expected 1.9%)
2.0% HOU WR Nico Collins with Stroud (+0.8% over expected 1.2%)
2.0% NYJ RB Braelon Allen with Fields (+0.5% over expected 1.5%)
2.0% TEN WR Calvin Ridley with Ward (+0.8% over expected 1.2%)

Expected is based on the overall ownership of each player, e.g. Pickens is on 15% of all rosters, Prescott is on 19% of all rosters, so you'd expect 15%*19% = 2.8% of all rosters to have both if people weren't going out of their way to pair them. Instead 4.8% of rosters have both, which is +2.0% higher than that.

Another way to look at it is that Pickens is on 25.5% of all rosters with Prescott vs. 12.3% of the rosters without Prescott, which averages out to 14.8% of entries overall. So you could look at the gap as +13.2% (or 2.07x) for Prescott rosters vs non-Prescott rosters.

The most commonly owned pairings are basically just the most commonly owned players
32% Jacory Croskey-Merritt + Emeka Egbuka (+6.2% over expected 26.2%)
27% Jacory Croskey-Merritt + Ricky Pearsall (+4.8% over expected 21.9%)
26% Emeka Egbuka + Ricky Pearsall (+5.5% over expected 20.9%)
22% Jacory Croskey-Merritt + Chase Brown (+3.2% over expected 18.9%)

These are also more common than expected - I guess there's an overall tendency to take the obvious highly-owned value plays vs. to avoid them.

J Herbert/CJ Stroud -0
J Taylor/N Chubb -2/-5
M Evans/K Allen -2/-9.6

Probable finish 160-165. I'd max at 175. Might feel comfortable if Taylor gets 15-18.

Egbuka/Allen/Franklin -9.2/15.6

McBride/Warren -9.2/12.3/15.6

KC -1

Should be able to add a few points, so 150-160 range. With the current cut line at 83.3, that should do it.

Burrow getting his foot messed up on a dirty play

Anyway after 1pm:

113.95 + (Chubb/J Mason - 2.30/6.70/7.50) + (T McMillan/Egbuka/K Allen/T Franklin - 6.70/9.60/15.30/15.60) + (T Warren - 6.70/7.10) + (Falcons - 9.0)

A little nervous

All 3 bargain basement receivers came through today to get me in a bit healthier situation. Through 4pm:

144.45 + (Mason/Chubb - 2.30/7.50) + (Egbuka/K Allen - 15.30/15.60) + (Atlanta - 9.00)

So the cut going into this game was 106.85 for reference. Might be the least a cut lines moves on a Sunday Night for quite some time.

These are the 4 double-digit scorers and the number of live roosters with them. Not much there.

Falcons D: 795
Allgaier: 165
Bijan: 544
Jefferson: 190

Anyway my Burrowless roster will advance to week 3. Right now at 151.95 + (Chubb - 4.80) + (Egbuka/K Allen - 15.60/15.30)

Good luck to those sweating The Turk
:scared:

121.75 with only Geno (30.75), Marks (2.90), Egbuka (7.60) and Carlson (14.10)

Exactly 1400 teams between me and the cutoff, but there are 2 Monday Night games. Honestly, I think the only player with a shot of counting for me is Egbuka. 😰

I made a new spreadsheet with heatmaps of positional builds. See the cluster of the most common builds at each position, and the weird outliers.

(Not sure if it's better to orient them horizontally or vertically. I currently have rb both ways, and the others just vertical - if you like horizontal better I could redo the others to give them that layout, or add duplicates like I have for rb.)

Mark Andrews so far is my biggest waste of money ever. I saw him as the leader of my TE group, but so far it looks like he’s not worth a $2 dart throw, let alone his actual cost.

Wish my guys would have saved this for later in the contest, but I might break 200 points for the first time ever! Goff, Odunze, and Kraft crushed it this week, and I loved watching my ATL defense come alive last night!

Sitting at 198.6 with Chubb - 7.5, and Egbuka, Tre Tucker, and K. Allen needing above 8.7 to score for WR, or above 13.9 to score for flex.
