2025 FBG Subscriber Contest (2 Viewers)

I'm kind of shocked to be out.
Oh I totally feel you! Welcome to the long wait for the Post Season Contest couch.....
Scooch over and make room for me.

:(

Besides losing Kittle, I wonder if my 2 cheap Defense approach needs to be changed next year to add a buck or 2 to grab a better one.
I can guarantee you that defense was not your down fall…care to post team again? How many players total?

Im]n juries are a ***** and the luck part of it

Would love your thoughts. Seemed like a pretty solid contest lineup to me…but I never make it past week 7 so what do I know…

Honestly, looking at it, not bad. I like having at least 24 plus players…you had 24.

Bad luck with Kittle especially since he was one of your more expensive players

But nearly everyone of your players probably cycled through all of our teams at one point and the point at which you saved the team was just a bit unlucky..

Unlucky you -
Kittle injury.
you had a $5 player…but what if you had went with Allen instead? Big difference so far between him and tre.
Golden is on a ton of teams and yet has not produced, and that is with the other GB wr’s being hurt too.

Also, I personally don’t like tooo many of same players from same team too in this format, I.e you have
Jacobs and Golden with Green Bay.
Also Sutton and Bryant and then ends up Franklin is scooping up all the passes in Denver.
Pollard and Chig from Titans…that also had a rookie QB on an offense that has never been too good…I don’t always stay away from a good player from a bad offense but I do pause and think long on too many players from unknown or iffy offenses.

So some small tweaks…but main thing is BETTER LUCK (which you don’t control) and you are still in this thing.

If you have a normal amount of players at each position, like you did, and you get booted in week 2, it's simply bad luck. You missed the cut by 2 points, and I made the cut by 2 points. Easily could be reversed. When @Army Eye gets his tracker running, follow your team and see how you do ROS.

Must have been some brilliant minds picking that team.

(Of course, next week it might score 80 points, but in this contest, you need to celebrate when you can.)

there is room for him to become what his real ceiling is...which is james white
That's the hype anyway - but tbh these sorts of comps almost never come to fruition. It's an easy projection for folks to make given draft capital, skill set, and coach, but TB12 isn't coming out of retirement any time soon, and mobile QBs like Maye will often scramble rather than dump off to the RB. At least that's the conclusion I've drawn over the years and it seemed a large % of the FF community was on board with that same conclusion.

Maybe the only one who'll ever actually be James White was James White. RS sure looked like a RB1 this past weekend. Maybe it's a game script thing.

Or maybe it comes in time... that's certainly possible. It just might not be this year.

In particular, I meant that McDaniels will always treat RS as the 1st and 2nd down back (until his skill erode) so the "upside" to Hendo is James White usage...maybe that changes eventually but I don't think it changes this year. Also, all things being equal I'm not sure that Maye's mobility will prevent Josh from trying to have a James White clone....its kind of hard to predict right now though because the overall skill level of the wide receiver room (i.e. marginal) creates an incentive to give Maye some design runs.

I've never felt worse about an entry, so I'm gonna post before I get booted.

QB - Dak Prescott, Geno Smith
They took turns scoring in single digits, and that's OK, as long as one of them scores 20+ each week. Not ready to call them busts yet.

RB - Derrick Henry, Chase Brown, RJ Harvey, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Woody Marks
When you spend $87 on 5 RB's, you assume you'll get multiple double-digit scores each week. Harvey needs to start earning more touches.

WR - Terry McLaurin, George Pickens, Stefon Diggs, Matthew Golden, Emeka Egbuka, Jalen Coker, Kayshon Boutte, Jahan Dotson
I had Keenan Allen in all my iterations, and he fell off at the last minute. Hoping to last til Coker comes back.

TE - Dalton Kincaid, Dallas Goedert, Pat Freiermuth
Didn't spend alot, but just need them on the field.

PK - Tyler Loop, Chris Boswell, Daniel Carlson
Believe it or not, I like my kickers better than any other position on my team. All 3 have been double-digits both weeks.

TD - KC/LAC/NE
As with kickers, I shopped from the $4 bin. So far, so good.

cant be a good thing when the top receiving options are rostered less than half as much as the qb.

if I were less lazy, I would look into whether this was a dolphins specific deal...

Today is the 2025 launch of the Subscriber Scoreboard! (I gave it a name now, just so it has a name other than 'that thing'). If you've used it before, everything will be familiar. If you haven't, then check it out! This is a website I created that offers some extra functionality for people who are playing in the Subscriber Contest.

-expanded overview: see how your players perform over the whole season on one handy page
-live scoring while games are being played!
-continue to follow your team after you are eliminated.
-keep tabs on other peoples' teams as well if you like, everything is public

All you need to use it is to plug in your team ID at the link below (instructions are included there).

Enjoy, and feel free to PM me with any feedback or bug reports. And if you find this tool valuable and would like to throw me a bit of financial support, there is a 'Buy me a coffee' link on the top of every page.

I think it is a function of prices really.

After Thursday night.

22.80+ a bunch left.

Really the main thing was Tua provided a 19.30 which while not excited is an acceptable number since he is my only QB til at least December with Burrow out.

Palmer is gonna be feast or famine and this week it is definitely famine.

Dolphins defense came up pretty much empty as well.

I just gotta make it through the first 7 weeks
Why only 7?
Josh Allen and Rashee Rice will get by the scary parts of my season.

Jimmy G is my backup QB

My WR corps are thin including Ayuik so week 7 really helps when arrive returns.
Man, you went very studly at every position.
Yeah, I did. Had some better variations, but not upset due to the unique nature of how hard it will be to survive early on.

Good luck to all my fellow footballguys this weekend!

I’m hoping this is the week Chase Brown will finally become fantasy relevant. But the Joe Burrow injury probably doesn’t help.

It would also be nice to see Mark Andrews actually show up. He’s been invisible so far.

But we gotta love the contributions so far from some of the $2 WRs, as well as $3 Franklin, and $4 Fannin.

So far through 2 weeks, I have gotten 5 scores that counted (from the $2 - $4 group above), averaging 17.06 points.

I'm hoping this is the week some of my cheap RBs can join in on the fun. It may be Mason, JCM and Monangai time.

Yes, best of luck to all!

I had a major scare in week 2, and it came down to needing Woody's 37 yard catch on Monday Night. I had to use scores of 7 and 5 at the RB spot, and survived by only 2 points.
QB - Averaging 27.4
RB1 - Averaging 19.1
RB2 - Averaging 9.9
WR1 - Averaging 20.7
WR2 - Averaging 14.6
TE - Averaging 13.3
Flex1 - Averaging 12.4
Flex2 - Averaging 10.4
K - Averaging 14.9
D - Averaging 9.5

Look at that paltry 9.9 from RB2. Pretty pathetic when you consider I spent $76 on my top 3 RB's.

Last year, the first three cut lines were 122.50, 120.55, and 118.75

This year, 126.75, 127.15, and ???

The Week 2 cut was surprisingly high to me, as many of the most highly-owned players did poorly
