FBG Site Question - T-shirt Idea (1 Viewer)

Not sure what "punk'd" means in your part of the world, but where I come from, it denotes an act I certainly wouldn't want to do to another man!Count me out.

"Punk'd" is a TV show on MTV. It is Candid camera only 1,000,000,000,000 times better and funnier. Definately doesn't have anything to do with acts to another man. I think the T-shirt is a great idea, but I'm not sure if my fellow league members would believe www.blackeyedjoe.com is supposed to be a good source of fantasy football information, but then again one of the league members drafted Kordell Stewart in the 2nd round last year.....Great Idea Joe!

Joe--sounds like a great idea.How about having a design contest. Set up some simple "rules" and have the FBG's or you and DoubleD select the top ____ (pick a number) designs get a free shirt and/or subscription. Open it up until July 1st or so--so The Fanatic can get one for his draft--and go for it.I love a good sense of humor.Edited by Lefty27 to add another thought.

Boy, I'd really like a fake cheatsheet up there. Nothing so awful that it's obvious, but bad enough that someone who followed the advice would reach in every round (you know - Bledsoe rated #4 QB, Hearst at #10 RB, Staley at #9 RB, Morton at #12 WR, etc).

Oh yes. Agreed.Having a printed list of (example) where the player number is a 'key'. Below the 2nd and 3rd digits revel the true ranking. Williams 401006 = 01, Tomlinson 402658 = 02, Barber 412068 = 12. This would be fun.1. RB Tomlinson SD #4026582. RB Davis CAR 4110063. RB Williams MIA #4019654. RB Faulk STL #3058175. RB Barber NYG #412068 6. RB Holmes KC #4038477. RB McAllister NO #407251and so on...
 
Thinking about this some more. If you go with the "misinformation" instead of "punk'd" appraoch, I'm thinking you could get some guys on this board to volunteer some articles for the site. Things like "Why it's critical to Get your Defense by Round 4""Why Clinton Portis will Suck" (Maybe just get permission to update Kamla's LT article from last year :thumbup: )"The Stud QB Theory" (Get 2 or three studs. Cuz, you know, QBs score the most points...)"Breakout Player Articles: Jabbar Gaffney, DeShaun Foster, etc."

I don't mind playing a part in helping you get one over on the guy in your league. But to deliberately mislead the guy, that's probably something I'd have to let you guys do... ;)J

whether it's Coke or Nike or whomever, I make it a practice not to buy shirts that advertise a product. I've always felt the companies should be giving those shirts to me for free for advertising for them. Or at least be selling them at cost. But that's just me. My guess is that a lot of people here would buy them, though. So to answer the question, yes, folks would buy them. Secondly, what happens in a league where all 12 guys are members here? That would make 11 guys who are losers in one league who subscribe to this site. Things that make you go "hmm..."

You total lost the point, there isnt a FBGS logo, web site, nothing on the shirt is advertising. Its a fake shirt, for a fake site to play a great joke on people in your league. Its shennigans(sp?) at its best. On second thought, dont get a shirt, then when you forget about it and someone in your league wears one, you can go to the site and look stupid. like you allready dont.
 
I'm having a T-shirt made up with my team's helmet on the front, and with a logo and FFL World Champions 1996 and 2002 on it...just to brag. :P :P

Now that I've seen this, I may wear two shirts to the draft...one to brag, and one to show them up!!! :wall: :hot: Of course, that may end up making me look like you basic NASCAR racer in the winner's circle ;) :) but I'll take that chance to get the first shots in. :sleep:

Ahh come on you could call it fantsygurugenius.com. I like some of the ideas already that stud QB theory sounds like a good one to push, hmmmmm think I'll make some phone calls
 
I like Shick's idea about blue as the color for the shirt. The yellow "blackeyedjoe.com" leters would look sharp along with the black logo. I also think the shirt should voice a really tempting, lofty claim like, "Subscribe to our website and we guarantee you will win your league." Is that legal? :sleep:

 
I'm in. There are a couple other owners who know about FBG, but are always trying to get me to give up "my other sources of info". This could put an end to the insufferable badgering...assuming they get the hint when they drop in on the prank site. I love this whole gag....XL and maybe a hat

 
LOL...love it, very devious. If only I had leagues where the guys didn't know about FBGs...but I didn't feel right being a staff member and not letting them know.Cheers

hey d-bag, i think the majority of self respecting internet ff players think fbg hats and shirts are for puzzlys. ;) it just so happened all the suck-ups just happened to post in this thread. :yucky:

Oh I'm so buying a couple of these t-shirts!!! Many an owner in my league would fall for this. As for the fake cheatsheets, I would love these also! If you guys could do this it would be awesome!! LMK were we can order I need my shirts for AUgust!!!sos_32@hotmail.com

My wife just asked me this evening if I was ever going to get a new FBG T-Shirt (the one I got two years ago is beginning to show signs of wear.) She actually looked for one on the FBG's website (she got the URL from the T-Shirt... smart woman!) to look for one to buy me as a surprise.I was just about ready to start a new thread about T-Shirts for this year and saw this one. Whatever you do, make it quick. I wear mine all the time (especially in front of my league mates.... they still don't get it)I'd also like to request child sizes, as my (almost) 4 year old boy want's a shirt just like my old one, so if I get one of the new one's, I'd love to be able to get him a shirt just like mine. He'd be thrilled to death!I'll take a XXL and a 4T for the boy.

 
I don't agree with the sentiment on this board about "hiding" this site from the guys in my league.I commish a 12 team league and I told everybody about this site, and the few other places I sometimes go for information. I like the idea of people having as much information as possible so they can not cry foul when I make a good trade with somebody. Information is knowledge and if those guys dont come here, too bad for them. If they do, then so be it. I see no need to hide anything from my owners.

I completely agree. I have the type of personality where I need to be challenged to get satisfaction from any endeavor...winning against guppies is not challenging. All of my leagues are filled with well informed owners. I still dominate them of course, but they are at the very least well informed.
 
I know this isn't as important as everything else going on, but I didn't want this one to be forgotten about. I'd really like a new FBG T-shirt for our draft this year.

 
Muy excelente :excited: I'd be in. I told people in my league about this site, but they never listen dispite my success over the past three years. At least I don't think they do. It would be fun to find out if any of them pay attention.

 
Count another vote for the non-white shirt. I'm all in on this one, XXXL. I also think a subscriber combo with a T-Shirt would be even better.

Why not come up with an original idea instead of using the Punk'd slogan taken from Ashton's show?Like the idea, don't like copy cats.

 
Joe, we're all ready to snap one up, just let us know!Idea #2...Add a ton of pop ups to the site. That'll really tick them off, plus you'll make a ton of $$$ from the advertisements. If you need an example or ideas for popups, just log onto Sandbox.com!!!
