FBGs - Are updates happening? Conversations & Alerts icon not displaying, nor who's viewing a topic (1 Viewer)

Is anyone else experiencing this? The icon for view alerts and conversations is not displaying. Also, members not displaying in topics being viewed. You can hover over conversations and alerts and stiill get to them, but they no longer show when you have an alert. At first I thought it was an issue with Chrome on my desktop, but I went to my laptop and the same issues exists. So that told me it was an issue with FBGs, unless there was a universal update with Chrome that caused it.

Nav bar is weird too. Looks like a stylesheet issue.
 
I just got a reaction to the alerts, but the icon doesn't display. So that is working. I suspect the same would be true for conversations. So it looks like it's an issue with displaying the conversation and alerts icons and not showing members viewing a topic, along with a navigation bar issue that @need2know mentioned.

Websites working but the display is messed up. Should be an easy fix for someone

From a programming perspective, it may or may not be an easy fix. Depends on what kind of recent changes went in. I've seen updates to code packages to applications that required a backout to a previous version of the code base and that would be an easy fix, but FBGs may try and fix the issue with the recent code changes (if any). It could have been a bug in waiting and the code hasn't changed, but a more likely reason is an update to a code package to the application that screwed it up. I'm sure Joe will be on this as soon as he reads this thread, or he may already know.

My ui messed up on iPhone as well. No alert “bell” icon. I posted one or 2 brilliant things last night so I’m obviously missing the emoji appreciation for my contributions.

Cool. It seems like I had to go check an unread thread to make them show up after I updated the add-on. They did eventually start showing up for me on this thread, so there's probably a short-term cache somewhere in the pipeline.
 
Current viewers is working for me on my iPad.

But the Bell icon at the top is invisible. If someone does react to reply to a post, I get the 🔴 with a number icon where the bell would be, fwiw.

Yeah, those appear to be styling issues. I'm saving those for last because fixing them will be messy and possibly destructive.

Working on the German YouTube video descriptions now.

mine has been doing this too when I send links... thought it was just my computer or because I dated a german recently :P
 
Yeah, the German boilerplate is now English boilerplate, so we've got that going for us. I've reopened that issue with xenForo.

I can confirm the boilerplate text is what YouTube's sending to the forums (to xenForo) on an unfurl request. But I know YouTube still generates standard Open Graph unfurl output. This is the data sent by YouTube from of my test links from above:

So we have a working theme for XenForo 2.3.4 now. You can test-drive it by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and choosing "FBG2025" from the "Style Chooser" (the icon looks like a paintbrush) in the bottom left.

One nice thing is the new style will automatically mirror your devices' light/dark setting, so you shouldn't have to change that setting unless you're used to viewing the boards in opposition to your default light/dark setting. If you do want to change your light/dark setting, it's just to the right of the "Style Chooser" -- the icon is supposed to be the sun. OK, "light", I get it, but it looks like the cog/gear icon everyone uses for "settings" these days. Anyway, you can click that and choose "System", "Light", or "Dark" and that setting should persist for your account wherever you log in to the boards. You can also pick your "Style Variation" from the "sun" at the top right of the page next to the search/magnifying glass icon.

just chose the new FBG2025 style and it immediately fixed all the icon and UI issues.

Works on my Android phone as well.
 
Nice fix, board looks great with FBG2025.

Something that I find interesting (and probably noone else would) is that if you remove Barry Sanders number out of FBG2025, you get my username on Twitch.
