FBGs Top 3 songs: U2 (closed) (1 Viewer)

U2 has long been my favorite band. Achtung Baby has long been my favorite album made by anyone. I don't think I can do this without editing it daily. But here goes:

1) Where the Streets Have No Name

2) So Cruel

3) Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (original album version)

1.  Where The Streets Have No Name - the rooftop video puts this one just above...

2.  Pride (In The Name of Love)

3.  City Of Blinding Lights

And I echo the earlier comment about the deep catalog - maybe not Beatles level, but definitely Zeppelin level.

Love Is Blindness

With Or Without You

Where The Streets Have No Name

Honorable Mentions:

Acrobat

Until The End Of The World

Bullet The Blue Sky

Red Hill Mining Town

Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are their finest albums......by far.

@comfortably numb

I have no intention of doing any work, so in that I don't have any expectation that you would either.

But if you were to create a playlist on Spotify or some other type service, of all the top 3's that get the final listing in these various threads I would subscribe.

I was thinking yesterday that somebody should start a spotify playlist with either a universal one with the winners for each band, or a playlist for each band with the top 15-20 point getters.

Ha

No problem at all.

Pretty easy.

I have spotify on now and can easily create a playlist. Never made it public or shared though

I don't care if the voting is over, I want my voice heard!

With or Without You

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Pride

I'm so disappointed in myself.  I forgot about God Part II, which is easily my favorite U2 song.  Rattle & Hum is just drenched in greatness.

I had to go seek out the video. I wonder if he used the same choreographer/director that Billy Squier did on Rock Me Tonite.

IIRC, the label wanted to release Red Hill Mining Town as a single and and gave the band money to make a video.  The band was against the idea, especially Bono, who was worried adding RHMT to the live setlist would damage his voice.  So they made a suckass video the label would never send to MTV.

Great tune.  I think of it as the transition between Rattle & Hum and Achtung Baby.   "Instant Karma's gonna get him if I don't get him first".
