He has. Well, aside from his "have I been posting e6? I meant Nf4" shtick. And I wanted to log off, too! Ah, it's okay. Tim has done a nice job here to say the least.

Lets try option 2. What's to lose?timschochet said:And Kaspy waits about 3 seconds before playing Ra7+
We have 3 choices here:
1. Kd6 as planned.
2. Ke8, to see if he goes back to Ra8 or tries to avoid the draw with a different move.
3. Bc7 we haven't really looked at this- does it make any sense?
You mean Ke8 just to see what he does? Yeah I kinda like that too.Lets try option 2. What's to lose?
Yeah. Second variation is still a draw. But it does look better, I agree.I think we go back to ke8 because maybe he doesn't want to draw, more so because we might should have played f6 instead of kd7. I didn't look hard enough at it. One of our e or f pawns is dead. Let's use it to our advantage-ish. make him move his bishop.
....ke8
Ra8...f6
Bh4...kd7
Ra7+...kd6
Much better
Or
...ke8
Ra8...f6
Rb8...rdx5
Ke3...kd7
kxe4...re5+
Muchbetter, too, right?
After now running this through a bunch off ways, I think Tim was correct here.timschochet said:Kd7 is more direct and it gets our king active. But it's hard to see how we win. f6 might give us winning chances- maybe.
So i vote we move back to ke8.Yeah. Second variation is still a draw. But it does look better, I agree.
The last one isn't a pretty situation, but we are temporarily up 3 pawns to one.So i vote we move back to ke8.
Maybe he doesn't play ra8, which is good.
If he does, then f6. Then maybe he plays bh4 and we are good.
Does this work for rb8 where we stay up a pawn...
If ra8...f6
Rb8...rxd5
Ke3...rf5
I like that you repeated the position first to see what he'd do. He wants a draw so pressing for more now should be fun.Kaspy plays Ra8. His message is "your call."
So now we know he's playing for the draw. Guess we've known that for a while.
I want to play f6 here. Kd7 only puts off the inevitable- we can't win. We might not be able to win with f6 either but it gives us better chances with Wilk's variations.
Thoughts?
Here's the variation....ke8
Ra8...f6
Rb8...rdx5
Ke3...kd7
kxe4...re5+
Muchbetter, too, right?
Fine we can wait. Can't look now, but will be able to look in depth after work in a few hours.
Bump. Anybody else want to take a look at this? That does look better. The problem with Rxd5, as Wilk pointed out, is Ke3. If f5, Bh4 and our pieces are frozen to the pin. But if we don't play f5 we lose the e pawn (Re5 doesn't defend it for long) and if we lose the e pawn it's a draw.
But we can give up the b pawn if we can keep the two connected pawns. And so:
1. Kd7 Rxb5 Kd6 looks good for us.
2. Kd7 Bh4 Rxd5 Ke3 Rh5 looks good for us too. After he moves the bishop we can play f5 Ke6 etc.
The key here is keeping the e and f pawn. So Kd7 looks right to me. Thoughts?
I'm not complaining and I doubt you really want my help anyway but I'd suggest for next time (whether this format or team vs. team) we have a better way to get the current board available to everyone. I tried to keep up but it was difficult. I'm not sure if someone has an easy way to do it and I've missed it but I have no clue what the board looks like right now.
And to reiterate, not complaining - really appreciate the effort you've put in to this Tim.
What does he do after be7? Maybe ra5 is unlikely...maybe ba7 instead. What could be our answer to that?Maybe kc7
Rb5...be7
Ra5...rxb4
Ra4...rb3
Ra7+...kd6
Ra6+...ke5
He has to play ba7 or move his rook, and rb6 or ra8 are answered with rxd5.
Bd6?What does he do after be7? Maybe ra5 is unlikely...maybe ba7 instead. What could be our answer to that?
