Feeling Good Thread (1 Viewer)

A crapload of travel coming up:

* Weekend in Santa Barbara coming up, college Facebook group reunion
* 3 nights in Omaha/KC/Wichita for work (can't wait for some KC BBQ and a beer with @ChiefD ) next week
* Quick overnight to the armpit of California (Fresno) at the end of July
* Long weekend in Palm Springs with HS and college buddies (and a budding love interest) for my big 5-0, first weekend of August
* 2 nights in beautiful Sacramento with co-workers, may also see college friends (and budding love interest) in mid-August
* Quick overnight to Phoenix for work in September, may see some old fantasy football buddies (from "another board")

Travel excites me, even to seemingly boring places. :D

Drinking my 2nd Coors Light tall boy--one more day of work tomorrow before I have 11 days off to celebrate my birthday and then one last 5 day stint of work and I am retired on the 31st,

Life is good. Life is good.

Congrats! How old are you? Man, I can’t imagine how great that last week of work will feel after all these years.

I always liked that a guy named Paycheck's best known tune was about quitting his job.

my youngest two spend a lot of time at the pool together, 3rd usually does his own thing. Last night #3 joined us at the pool and all three had fun together. I joined for a bit, enjoyed a book for a bit. 😎
that was one of my favorite things about being a dad was just watching my kids play either with each other or with other friends. then being able to jump into the mix to get my fill and then go back to taking it all in once i reached that point. priceless.

Putting together a slide show for my moms birthday party next week. We spent the evening last night going through old pictures with the kids at various stages of little (they’re 19 and 21 now). Dusted off some great memories with the family last night.

I’d been in kind of a rut the past week or so, so this was a much welcome ray of sunshine for me.

I turn 54 next week. My wife is 54 and we are planning for her to retire here in the next 4-5 years as well. But who knows what curve balls life will throw at you.

It's Friday!

IT'S UNDER 90 DEGREES!

Yesterday at 6PM I checked my two usual sources for local weather. One said it was 109, the other 110, both agreed at 118 for the heat index. About 7 a thunderstorm rolled through and cooled everything off. You could see steam/evaporation coming off the road almost as thick as a light fog. Going on 16 hours below 90, GLORIOUS!

Remind us where you are so we know never to move there.

I have been to Midland/Odessa for work. Never really need to go back. I assume where you are is similar to that area.
