Felix Jones hurt already? (1 Viewer)

Doesn't sound like he will miss a game, but can either one of these guys stay healthy for more then a few games? I don't think I'm touching either Murray or Felix next year. If you get one, you must get the other.

It's too early to panic. However, with the release of this information, it appeared like Felix was extremely tired at the end of Week 15 at TB, and understandably so. I suppose it's also possible that he was starting to tighten up late in that game.

For now, Felix is in a holding pattern until the news from Wednesday's practice surfaces.

I was able to overcome Murray with Felix, but if Felix goes out, my championship chances are destroyed.

Hoping this was just a precaution and he'll be ok. I guess putting in a claim for Sammy Morris isn't a bad idea.

Sammy looked pretty good. Fresh legs. Hit the hole strong.

Nothing to see here. It was just a precaution from what I read. He'll play and put up big numbers.
Don't expect Felix to play much if the Giants beat the Jets.
Believe this is false. Below copied from the Romo thread claiming the same thing..----------------Not necessarily true....If the Falcons lose the next two(NO, TB) and Dallas wins vs Philly and loses vs Giants, there is a possibility that Dallas could get in as the 6th seed for the Wildcard. I don't think that under any circumstance should we expect the Cowboys to treat either of the remaining two games as meaningless.

Yeah. Fortunately I have the top waiver spot against my opponent, so I can grab him. I had originally put in a defensive claim for the Chiefs, so I'm just going to have to hope that I am able to get them as the #2 option.

Word is he'll be ready. lats week he got 25 touches which is the most in his NFL career. Wouldnt worry at this point, just giving him some rest.

I think this is probably the case, but the word "hamstring" is scary when you're playing in a Championship game...especially when you're not talking about the most trustworthy RB around.

Think in going to have to put a claim in for Morris.
Would you really play Morris in a fantasy title game? I think not.
If nothing else, it prevents someone else from picking him up. Just imagine if you had the waiver priority over your SB opponent, you didn't put it for him, your opponent did, and then Morris actually had a good week that helped beat you.
Don't know about you, but I would pray for my opponent to start Sammy Morris in a title game

I agree with the above post. Wouldn't think about starting him. In 2005, I made the mistake of leaving Jonathon Wells on the waiver wire, overconfident with a 10-4 top seed team. I let my opponent pick up Wells the night before the game and crushed me. Here is Wells statline: My link. I'll never forget that loss. It's total BS to get smoked by a one-week wonder in the playoffs.

Rotoworld blurb:

Sammy Morris handled the majority of first-team reps in Tuesday's practice.

Felix Jones sat the practice out due to hamstring tightness. We're tentatively expecting Jones to play, but owners can protect themselves by adding Morris. The 34 year old looked surprisingly spry while running for 53 yards on 12 carries against the Bucs last week.

Based on the above, he should be rostered in all leagues. You can sit on him and mull it over for a few days, and decide against starting him if you have better options. But roster space shouldn't be an issue at this time of year.

I'm thinking this makes sense, giving him some rest after having his biggest workload of the season. That being said, I added Morris just in case. Helps that this is a Saturday game and you should have backup plans in place for Sunday.

Only Sunday game is Chicago @ Green Bay ... So unless one has a back rostered from either, or a Falcoln/Saint on Monday night  Cowboys are one of only 3 late games as well on Saturday ... gonna be a tight call.

I rostered Sammy Morris and will start him if Felix can't go. Based on the way he looked last week, I may actually feel better about playing him with Felix not going, than I would playing Felix...since I'm sure he'll end up getting hurt in the first drive anyway (after he fumbles).

I managed to overcome picking him early all season, so it will only be fitting that he screws me in the championship game.

With Romo slotted in as my QB starter, I'm thinking of dumping Sanchez to pick up Morris given my RB2/flex options are thin (Bell/Barber, Hillis, Lloyd).

If Jones can't run, is Morris the every-down-back? Philly can be run on, but their D is definitely coming off a high from the Jets game, and this is a big divisional spoiler game for them.

More RW updates:

Felix Jones (hamstring) was not present for the start of Cowboys' practice Wednesday.

Jones could emerge from the training room and get a workout in later, but it doesn't appear likely. This would be his second straight missed practice as concern grows over his ability to sustain health as a feature back. Jones cramped, needed an IV and ceded to Sammy Morris late in last week's win over the Bucs. Owners need to monitor his status closely heading into Saturday's game against the Eagles.

This is just so much like Felix Jones that it is honestly unreal. Everyone, and I mean everyone, joked that he would get hurt again. Just incredible. Looks like Sammy Morris has a shot to start in a fantasy championship game for me.

Now that people are worried enough to bench him you can expect 24 touches, 143 yards & 60 yard TD from Felix on Saturday.

Book it.

Jones missed practice again. I am VERY concerned at this point. It would be so like Jones to start the game only to re-injure himself in the first series of downs.

what will probably end up happening is felix starting and a true split with morris rendering both backs poor options.

One thing you have to take into account is that if Felix is not healthy I doubt Dallas rushes him back cause it is not very likely the Falcons lose vs TB and also the only game Dallas needs to win is the Giant game. Dallas is playing for the division and not going to put a less then healthy Felix out there with his injury history in game that has no affect for them on whether they win the division if the Giants win vs the Jets. Just giving for warning for the Felix owners.

You mean if the Jets beat the Giants?
No if the Jets beat the Giants Dallas would play him cause then they could clinch the division if they beat the Eagles. If the Giants beat the Jets then the outcome of the Dallas Philly game means nothing in the division race for Dallas. They would then have to beat the Giants to win the division in week 17

I'll be starting him if he plays, but I honestly kind of hope he doesn't. I think Sammy Morris getting pretty much 100% of the carries is a better start than Felix playing hurt, and probably getting knocked out in the 1st quarter with a boo boo.

Felix jones sits out practice again. Vice president stephen jones says team is just being cautious and he will play against eagles

"he's the only one left," Stephen jones said of Felix jones.

Excellent stuff. Stretch run- title game and we are debating Sammy Morris. Love It.

I think the post above me said it best " Anyone with any sense knows this guy does not handle injuries very we....". I dont think anything could be more true and if you have watched Felix these last couple of years then you KNOW Sammy Morris has an excecllent chance of contributing this week.

Don't trust a thing Stephen Jones says.

Flex RB - I am rolling with Sammy over Ryan Grant this week.
