I didn't see the game, but saw he had no rushes or receptions in the game... what gives? No wonder Dallas lost.
I agree..something like McFadden on Oakland. The simple answer?Time of possession:Washington - 38:09Dallas - 21:51Trailing for most of the game + never having the ball is not a good recipe for a rookie to get touches.
Sorry to say, if you are throwing because you are behind, Barber isn't a better option to catch and make big plays upfieldI agree..something like McFadden on Oakland. The simple answer?Time of possession:Washington - 38:09Dallas - 21:51Trailing for most of the game + never having the ball is not a good recipe for a rookie to get touches.
Which is why Barber had 8 carriesummmm..........it wasnt garbage time. Thats what backups are for
Technically they only threw the ball 80% of the time.Felix only has a handfull of carries on the year. The bigger shock is that they only dealt barber the ball 8 times. Dallas played the game like they were in panic mode, yet there weren't in a desperate situation until the very end of hte game. I don't get it. Why would you come out with a 90% passing attack game plan against washington???
Only? Anyway, I'll be interested to hear what they have to say about it. It was obviously a failed gameplan. They were not forced to abandon the run. They gameplanned around it and they lost. I think they just got bored, or the coach was afraid to tell TO that they are a better team when they don't force feed him the ball 30% of the plays.Technically they only threw the ball 80% of the time.Felix only has a handfull of carries on the year. That was a joke. Here's what Jason Garrett says (again from the Dallas Morning News Cowboys blog).Only? Anyway, I'll be interested to hear what they have to say about it. The Cowboys have three Pro Bowl offensive lineman, a Pro Bowl running back and a rookie running back who is averaging 8.2 yards per carry. How the heck does that add up to eight carries for the running backs and 47 pass attempts? Shouldn't the Cowboys be able to establish the run?"Sometimes defenses dictate otherwise," offensive coordinator Jason Garrett said after the 26-24 loss to the Redskins. "Certainly, we'd like to get Marion more carries and Felix more carries as well, but the style of defense they were playing was forcing us to do some other things. We have to execute better in those other areas to be able to get back to some of those things you want to do."(Dallas Morning News photo by John F. Rhodes)RB coach Skip Peete explained that the Cowboys had several runs called, but they all had checks to pass plays based on defensive fronts and secondary coverages. Tony Romo checked to passes on most occasions, and RG Leonard "Bigg" Davis and Peete confirmed that Romo made the right pre-snap reads. But can the Cowboys let a defense dictate what they're doing?"You have to aggressively take what the defense gives you," Garrett said. "When they give you opportunities to throw it, you've got to execute and throw it. When they give you opportunities to run it ..."Garrett didn't finish that sentence. The Cowboys' running game never got started against the Redskins.
Oh god, if its that easy then Dallas is doomed for the rest of the season. That was a joke. Here's what Jason Garrett says (again from the Dallas Morning News Cowboys blog).Only? Wade Wilson got drilled in his PC tonight for night establishing the run. It's going to be a long week for him because the media is going to eat him up.ETA: On Felix Jones: "He has a specific role that he plays. The plays that he works on, they aren't really 'come from behind' plays. They are more normal game situation plays. We will get more and more comfortable with him as he learns more."On the lack of running game: "It turned into a game that they were piling up on the line of scrimmage and they challenged us with man-to-man coverage. Sometimes we moved the ball with ease. Other times, we didn't. We had a lot of three-and-outs. We thought we could throw it on them. We didn't. We thought we had enough protection to be able to run the ball longer. We just didn't get it done. They forced us into passing situations. And we didn't have the ball a lot. Partly it was our fault for not having longer drives. Playing from behind, we fought back at the end, but it was too late."I didn't see the game, but saw he had no rushes or receptions in the game... what gives? No wonder Dallas lost.
