This had   written all over it from the get-go.

This is the crux of it right here. And I normally abstain from the usual partisan political threads for two reasons:

1) Both sides have merit imo. No one owns 100% of the truth or the correct way to govern. So I don't hate either side with anywhere near the level of vitriol I see in those threads. The usual liberal vs. conservative threads bore me to tears.

2) No one's changing anyone's mind anyway.

So everyone's all confused that suddenly I'm "political". I get it. But Trump is not like anything we've seen before, and in this instance 1) above does not apply. Trump is demonstrably wrong, and buffoonish and a disaster waiting to happen. It's just a fact. And guys like PII who get all frustrated are blaming the common sense people who are simply stating the truth, when really they should turn such concerns inward and try to figure out what negative events or anomalies in their critical thinking processes led them awry. Someday, the truth of all this will be evident to everyone, just like today we all know OJ did it. I'd like to help my fellow FBGs get on the right side of history now and avoid more embarrassment later.
