Thanks. I'll stay out of it, I just think it's interesting that 2003 timeframe has popped up. Horner's didn't even have one post.
Does anyone honesty believe Horner established this account in 2003 and has lurked for 14 years without making a single post until now? Or that Beaver created multiple accounts in 2003 to save for a rainy day when an account is banned in 2017?

Again, if the above is dismissed as being remote and unrealistic possibilities, what other answer is there? How is someone, who has been banned, acquiring these old accounts? I have thrown out what are the only logical alternatives. If someone has another theory I would like to hear it.

Hey squistion, how ya been?

New accounts have to be approved by the mods and can be checked against banned ISP addresses.

It is probably simpler to find an old account not used in years, like Beaver Cleaver did with Toe Cutter and now Steve, then when it will be inevitably banned (like the 10 others before it) just find another old account.
Just a note of correction: can't really permaban an IP address for consumers.  They are dynamic and change periodically (not often, though)  For the short term - sure.  But sometimes rebooting your modem or simply calling your isp and asking them to lease you a new address will get you a new one.

Only one of three possible explanations, and the most plausible as proven by the emergence of even more accounts that have been completely dormant for 14 years.
I'd fire up an old account just to show you you're wrong, but I don't want to waste one for this.

:sigh:

I said that Steve is obviously Beaver Cleaver (mods can verify). And that the Steve's account could not have been one created by him in 2003 that he then held dormant for 14 years anticipating that the Toe Cutter alias would be banned in 2017. No one can seriously argue this guy has been lurking for 14 years and suddenly started posting, please.

That left only two possible explanations. One was that he has help from someone on the inside. However, if you read I what I said at the time, I went out of my way to say that I didn't think any of the mods were corrupt or could be bought and, so, such a possibility, was "highly unlikely". However since we know Beaver didn't start the Steve account in 2003, it had to raised as a possibility, although highly unlikely.

Dismissing that it appears that this could not have been an original account started by Beaver and also not one provided by the staff - then, it was an old account that was somehow hacked.
This is the craziest thing I have ever seen in here.  :loco:

QFT.  I am lucky if I can keep track of who said what yesterday, and I generally have a really good memory, yet that guy goes on and on about accounts, fake accounts and conspiracy theories about them, like he's getting paid full time to keep track of it all.   I am not sure if it is more creepy, sad or funny.

You guys can buy a notebook down at the Wallgreens from Eminence for 99 cents and get started too

Fair enough. If so, then come up with a better explanation as to how about a half dozen accounts, all created in 2003, dormant for the most part since that year (some with no posts at all) suddenly start posting in this forum with detailed knowledge about the regulars on this forum. Nobody lurks for 14 years and then start posting regularly, that doesn't seem at all plausible.

Part of the crazy is that you give a #### about it.

As for how the above happened, I don't have a clue and don't care because its not worth caring about. But to each his own I guess.

Apparently squishy missed the years of shtick we had with one-off posts. Create an account just to make a single snarky reply in one thread.

Was that in 2003? Because that was when these accounts were created, and I don't see any one-off posts in any of them.

I know you don't know the history here (obviously) so let me enlighten you.  2003 is when we migrated from old yeller to this platform.  Lots of people created a bunch of aliases when registration opened, both for schtick purposes and as a way to dodge bannings (moderation was much stricter then during the ! era).  You don't know what you are talking about and you're looking like an idiot as a result.

The amazing thing is about 100 posters have told him the same thing and he's still convinced he's right.  It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on the internet.

Nice try. Your avatar is Mr. Monopoly (Rich Uncle Pennybags) and your username is Ivan Karamazov, so you used your money and influence to hack a fictional Russian character's account! HACKER!!!

That seems a specious explanation IMO. The reason being is that we have not had these 2003 accounts appear suddenly at any point in the past, just in the last few months. If this was the real story, we certainly would have seen at lease some of these 2003 accounts trotted out periodically, not held by several posters for 14 years.

I'd say it was 98% for shtick and 2% to dodge bannings.

squition I'm usually of the opinion that certain posters get a bit of a bad wrap here (Tim, yourself, etc) because people tend to put too much weight into what people write anonymously on the internet, but you're really off base here man.

This is as close to base as he ever gets. :coffee:

Sad thing is that this probably means that the 10 likes that validate his daily message board existence are really just 1 or 2 actual people.

It is just one or two far-left hacks repeatedly liking several different far-left tweets, not even different aliases.  It could just be himself with how obsessed he is.

You're off the deep end, squis. I know you're in your 60s and that old people get set in their ways and find it impossible to 1) admit they're wrong, and 2) understand other people's point of view, but, man, time to just bow out gracefully from this belief, dude. You're looking like the old codger shouting at the clouds here.
Wait, really?  This would explain a lot.
