I know we have some poker players in here so I'll tell the story. Playing PLO8 with $1600 behind and that's more or less average stack. I woke up to 3x4x5x6x in the cutoff - 6 people preflop for $10.

Flop comes down 4 7 8 . SB Bets $50. BB pots to $210. I flat. Fold. Next guy Pots All in for $750. Button Shoves. SB Shoves BB Shoves. All have between $1200-$2500 other then the guy who all in shoved.

Our move. Calling $~1400 or folding is the only option we have.

Without doing any math, i think this is a fold.

I tanked for about 2-3 minutes the whole time I had a sick feeling that it wasn't going to end well for me. Eventually one of the players in the hand said "come on put it in - you'll get there". I said "I'm already there - I got the nuts........ but you know what, Merry Christmas fellas" and open folded the 5-6 nuts face up. I got a couple of "WTF are you DOING?" and got called a ##### more or less by half the table, but esp by the ones in the hand.

After :20 or so of bickering about the fold the remaining players decided to run the rest of the board twice. It was all out there. The $750 shove had nut diamonds, the BB had top set and the button not only had 5-6 but had a 9 on board for counterfeit protection. Small blind was in the best shape as somehow he was the only one with A-2.

And the funny thing was the one thing I kept saying to myself was if even 1 hit the board I was DEAD. Run out one went 3 9 Run out 2 went 10 8 .

So the A-2 guy got away with Murder and I saved myself $1400.

EDIT: One of the players not in the hand, who I consider one of the best players I've ever played with, came up to me after the hand and gave me a hand pound and said I made a very good fold and that was a fold that only a good player makes. Coming from him it's a compliment.

When you laid down, those were basically the ranges you guessed?

I would've guessed ace high flush draw, 2 A2's, and a 5-6. A 5-6-9 and a top set and only one A2 is even worse.

Chain, are you using StatFox for statistics? I just noticed this on my site, seems like a pretty thorough stat aggregator.

I'm going to check this out today. I have a link to their forum in my bookmarks, so it sounded familiar, I but didn't realize they had an actual website. Also, my bad on those Chiefs stats I posted last night - they were directly from an article I was reading and I didn't double check them. Off the top of my head aren't the Chiefs' two DE injured, because the 'Skins are just starting to do things with the read option that they weren't doing earlier in the season when RG was still gimpy. So that may file under matchups to exploit.

I am going to be pretty disappointed if this movie doesn't live up to the first one. Tons of hype just everywhere.

With that said, will be seeing it ASAP after Christmas, for better or worse.

I looked at this game again today with a fresh set of eyes, and the L3 they've played Manning x2 and Rivers, that's not a walk in the park and they played decently given the competition. Meanwhile, I'm alot less impressed with the Skins over the L4. Averaging 16.5 PPG over that stretch against Min, Philly, and NYG (SF the outlier amongst those defenses). Passing is a huge concern - RG3 elicits no confidence right now from me, and I don't see him as a "value" spot on anything close to an upswing. If we're speculating about momentum/need to win, gimme the Chiefs on a L-3 with the playoffs in front of them vs. the Skins on a L-4 and 4 weeks from the off-season.

Up to -115 now, taking 2U on this one. I think the better team wins here, and will accept the potential push on 3.

I'm betting you will be able to get this for less in live betting. Panthers dont give up early points often.

Average scoring given up by the Panthers defense by quarter this season:

1Q 1.8

2Q 3.8

3Q 3.1

4Q 4.4

Opponents are only averaging 13.1 points against them. I think it would make a lot of sense for the Saints to try to get an early lead and make them play catch-up. Plus ESPN had a segment on it. But the Panthers have only given up 2 TDs in the first half the whole season. Panthers 5-0 L5 to the under and they haven't lost SU or ATS since week 5.
