FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (7 Viewers)

Trying to chase steam again this morning, just locked inLouisiana Tech +2Jacksonville State +2.5Loyola Marymount -3.5Those are all -118 vig at Pinnacle (opened at -105), local offering -110 still.
In my experience it's not steam moving those lines, the steam that moves lines waits til gameday(for CBB) so they can get more down on the game. 1 max bet can move opening lines. You want to try and bet when the whole board moves and your local sits there.

Looking at George Mason -10.5 1H and the under against Townson today. Townson spent 9+ hrs on a bus last night due to the snow storm in the DC area and spent the night at a Holiday Inn. They were not ready for an over night trip since its normally a 1.5hr trip one way. Thinking they might come out sluggish in the 1st Half and not shoot well.

New to the thread, figured you guys would be the best to ask:

Hypothetically, if a person found PIT +125 and Rogers MVP at +175, good opportunity for arbitrage?

No, should be finding Rodgers at +190 or better. And even if you do, no I don't like it.

Thanks. If a person was able to parlay a casino bonus to move the lines to PIT +165 and Rogers MVP +215, is that any more attractive to bet both sides?

Yes, much more attractive. I like Pitt +165 a lot more then Rodgers MVP though. I'd play them accordingly, but then again that's just me, I like Pitt in this game.

Thanks!

Running the numbers, looks like the winning QB is MVP only half the time, so there's some edge here but it's very slight. Probably +$50 on $1000 wagered.

Before I forget, Djokivic is GREAT value tonight at +195. Hell, he's good value at +150. Federer should be favored in this match, sure, but not by much. The name is what's made the line too high. It's only a matter of time before the Joker beats him (which he's done already) to win a Granny. Love Federer, he's one of my favorite tennis players ever, but he's getting up there in tennis years. Meanwhile, Djokivic keeps getting closer. Good bet tonight, Novak, at 2 - 1.
Nice call SLBD.
:jawdrop: I was a little pissy after the San Diego St. game, and put more on Djokivic then maybe i should have. For the life of me I can't figure out how people can be a fan of tennis, but mixing gambling certainly helps. I was sitting there with one eye barely open watching the match, definitely enjoyable. Thanks again Sonny

Two more.

MVP not a qb +250 at SB. Obvious play, good number.

+200 someone does the Lambeau leap and jumps into the crowd. I bet this at SB and Bodog. Dallas stadium has very low walls, I'd be shocked to see a Packer not give it a shot here. Low limit bet.

Christina Aguilera to sing the national anthem. The four I saw on youtube of her were (and if you have any discrepancy let me know, I did it quick):1:451:521:552:00
Bet this at a few places for low limits at over 1:50 -120 and some at -140.
this is a good example of why i like the props you post. I would love to play this one, and it is certainly not a great bet (though 3 of the 4 times she went over), but one i will definitely put some money on when i get a chance.

I think it's a very good bet. The only time she didn't go over was at a hockey game 3 years ago. I was very close to playing over 1:53 at another book. I learned last year that previous times are important but this is the Super Bowl, if she gets caught up in the moment this will fly over 2:00.

How is this possible? Does she sing with no music?

What?

I threw 20 bucks at Clay Matthews MVP 25/1 at SportsBetting.
Not a bad bet. Obviously if GB wins, Rodgers is a huge favorite for MVP. I don't think GB will run much and if a WR like Jennings goes off, most likely Rodgers would have as well. That leaves the D for GB and you'd have to narrow it down to Matthews or one of the CB's.

She may be singing to a taped recording... some have done it in the past... some even rehearse it beforehand with the tape... Almost got burned on this once, luckily there was enough leeway in how the casino counted the time. I was really, really, really sure the anthem would come in at 1:45. Like, totally positive, based on when the singer started to when the singer ended. But the casino counted the music at the beginning, too, or something like that, nearly pushing the total duration closer to 2:00. My bet paid off because it was still under 2:00, but, the people who got in at -1:55 didn't get paid, IIRC.

If you recall Carrie Underwood from last year. I will give you my bets just as kind of a benchmark. I bet un 1:42 and ov 1:38.5 seconds. More on the Under, the side that lost.

Anyway, she started off very fast and was breezing her way through. Halfway through the anthem I was counting my money, then unlike other anthems she really slowed at the end. She finished at 1:46 which I believe over 1:42 paid out +300. Ask Lumpy he had it over.

I won't consider myself a national anthem expert and won't rely on one performance, but I think if she does anything she strings it out on the backend more then she normally has/would.

MP recalls this perfectly, underwood was FLYING thru the anthem....90% done in ~5 seconds.....and then she just dragged out that last 10% like i've never seen before, great win. It was one of the few props i bet on last years SB.

Love this - already my bigest bet on the game. I'd bet it at even..

Couple others.

Magic/Celtics greater MOV then the Super Bowl -115 (bodog)

Carey Price more saves even then B. Jackson rush/rec (bodog)

At sia.

Driver 1h more rec +.5 -130 over Ward

Bodog has a good amount of player props out. Everything seems pretty accurate to me upon my first few looks.

Edit: I won't give any reasoning with these plays unless someone wants me to explain and I'd be happy to.

I bet Obama to pick Pittsburgh -182 at SIA. Missed the -130 at bodog (it's not available now). Here's a good link

Full link is above, here's some quotes from last SB between Pitt and AZ.

But I am a longtime Steelers fan."

He went on to explain that Steelers owner Dan Rooney was "an extraordinary supporter" during his presidential campaign. Franco Harris, the Steelers' Hall of Fame running back, and the team's current head coach, Mike Tomlin, also backed his candidacy, Obama said.

"So . . . I wish the best to the Cardinals," the former senator from Illinois continued. "They've been long-suffering. It's a great Cinderella story. But other than the Bears, the Steelers are probably the team that's closest to my heart. All right?"

Don't forget BJ Raji at +3000. Extremely unlikely of course, but with Pouncey out, he could have a huge game, especially if he's lining up in the backfield at the goal line. Caveat - I am likely one of the few on this board who is old enough to remember Randy White winning the MVP in the late 70's, which I'm pretty sure is the last and probably only time a DT has won the award.

I also thought he was a Chicago fan, so he would naturally have to root against Green Bay.eta - Oops, I see you mentioned him being a Chicago fan.

This is -140 at SB.
Yes, thanks I missed it. $10 max though. :kicksrock:

Here's a nice little parlay I took.

Duke -16.5

Virginia +160

MississippiSt +240

This is a 15-1 parlay. Virginia and Miss St. are home and only 4 and 6 pt dogs respectfully. They could both pull the upset, and I don't have to put a lot on it to win a lot.

This bet feels like such a waste, but it is fun. How do we feel about 1:56?
Still lean over but slight.
Plenty of o -120 at bodog. Why are you laying -140?The difference between 1:50 and 1:56 is pretty significant, I'd shop elsewhere.

Hey MP - what do you make these odds:

Super Bowl XLV Specials - Will B.J.Raji be on the field for at least 1offensive play? Must play for action. Special Teams do not count towards wager.

Yes

-175

No

+135

Sportsbook.com has a $50 cap on all of the exotics. I tried to get $420 down on the what team would BHO... needless to say I was disapointed.

I follow your picks a lot and give much props to your success this season...I am thinking about tailing your first pick since you seem most confident with it, but why are you jumping on Loyola for 3 units. I don't know anything about the team, and am only looking at both teams' schedules on espn and don't see how this team is favored by 5.5 points against San Francisco.... loyola is 1-4 while San Fran is 4-1 in conference... seems like San Fran would be the better team... Why are you so confident with them?

Nothing close to last nights, but Ferrer offers some value in the Ozzie Open tonight. Everybody's assuming Murray will go right through to the Final, while also discounting Ferrer's win because Nadal was hurt. Fair enough, and this one really would be an upset, but the fact is Ferrer's still one of the better veterans on tour and he's playing very well. So the stage won't be too big and he should put up a good fight. Anyway, worth taking a shot at over 3 - 1...

Max at bodog was $60. I couldn't get down anymore.

I think I hit a new all-time low today. I subscribed to Christina Aguilera's twitter pages. :goodposting:

Probably won't be any info on there but just in case. There's still bets out there on what she wears, her hair, etc.

Havent gambled in a while and emptied all my accounts out a few years ago. Looking to get back in - whats the best money in/out method? (Im from the neteller days)

Have old accounts I assume are still active I can redeposit to at places like pinnacle, canbet, olympic and a couple others I cant think of - any new books I should be looking at or stick with those?

You know what would be good right now? Is doing a thread for Superbowl props. Or SB period. Two reasons: everything else in here is getting buried, for one. And two, it actually might encourage other SB/prop/outsiders to follow or contribute. Win - win, in my opinion. :hot: It will also be an easier way to track lines/opinions, as well as go back and see what went down, exactly. And especially for next year, without sifting through this one.

I'm no prop expert so somebody else start her up, why dontcha?! Red? Lump?

:lmao: now that is dedication, good call MP. you should buddy up to her and talk her into aiming for over 2 minutes

the one that threw me off was the 2-18 Jax St. Gamecocks. Takes cajones to make a pick like that, nice job bmj
