FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (8 Viewers)

I'm missing Trotzy's return to Nashville, which is a bummer.

I think the under is a good call. It'll be like old times in Bridgestone.

Rest of the Pucks:

Jets (+210) at Hawks-Much like Edmonton a couple of nights ago, this line is WAY out of line. Yes, the Jets are on a 2nd night of a back to back, but they've played pretty well this year in 2nd games of back to backs at 2-3. The Jets have played very well vs. the Hawks, having won 3 in a row including twice at the United Center. The Jets saved Hutchison last night vs. Dallas and played Pavelic instead, and he actually played very well. Hutchison has had a very nice year. And honestly the Hawks haven't been sharp the last couple of weeks. I'm not going to play this game, but this is not a terrible lottery ticket. At all. PASS.

Devils (+174) at Ducks-If I was going better I'd play NJ here. Bryzgalov is in net tonight, Schneider has historically played well against Anaheim. The fact that Jagr is out probably prevents me from playing it, but definitely worth a look. I lean NJ. PASS.

Sorry for the jinx :(

Saturday Pucks:

Jackets at Bruins (-230) Bruins finally doing what we anticipated they would do this year, now having won 5 in a row and playing great defense. Bruins come in off of 2-1 loss to the Rangers last night. Jackets are 2-7 on 2nd night of back to back's. They are 1-4 in their last 5, but it's been a tough schedule. 3 of the 4 losses were to MON, NYR and NYI. Bruins only way to look here and I like them, but it will have to be in a parlay.

Flyers (-180) at Sabres- Flyers have been shut out 2 games in a row and have serious goaltender problems with Mason out. I don't know how you can keep running Emery out there right now, I'd make Zepp the starter and start him as much as possible. Sabres are dreadful and aren't scoring AT ALL right now. They've lost 13 of 14 and have had little success against the Flyers recently. The numbers call for an unders game but no chance that I want any of that unless I KNOW Zepp is starting, and at -120 that does not interest me. No interest here. PASS.

Leafs at Blues (-220) Blues playing well of late, scoring lots of goals, Wings briefly derailed them last time out, but they have momentum. I'm not convinced that this Blues team is a Cup contender, I don't think they have the goalie play to go a long way. As a Hawks fan I was kind of hoping that Rinne's injury would allow us to get back in to the 1 spot and draw a WC game and avoid the Blues in the first round, but after watching last night's Jets game, I really think I'd rather play St. Louis first. The Leafs have been a hard team for me to figure out this year, but I do know they've been bad on the road, losing 8 of their last 10, and I don't think they win here either. Only way to play is Blues in a parlay, which I'll look to do, probably with Boston.

Isles (+110) at Habs- Isles playing great hockey right now. They are making a believer out of me and I think they are really starting to believe in themselves. Habs will be without Price tonight. Tokarski has been pretty decent backing him up, but I don't want any part of Montreal without Price here. Isles coming off impressive win against Pens last night, but are 6-1 on 2nd night of back to back's, so that shouldn't worry you. I like the Isles here, but I'd like a little better number. I'm undecided right now, but if that line sneaks up a bit I may look to jump on NYI.

Canes at Sens (-160)-Canes bit me last night when they put up a pathetic effort at home against the Canucks. Now they come in to this one in a spot where they've really struggled, they are 1-7 on 2nd night of back to back's. Sens aren't playing great but should find a way to win this one. Not sure what to do here, I think the -160 is too rich, which means only way to play Sens is in a parlay, not sure how confident I am to do that. Other thing to consider is that Khudobin will be in net for Canes and he's been somewhat hot as of late. PASS

Preds at Wings (-145) Preds come in off of an impressive win last night against the red hot Caps, but things get a little tougher tonight, against the Wings who return home after going 4-2 on a 6 game road trip. Both teams are without their starting goalies, although I like Mrazek a little more than I like Hutton. I really think that reality set in tonight for Nashville and that the Wings come away with this one. Only way to play it is either in a parlay or a Puck-line at +195. I don't know if I'm comfortable with that type of play with the way the Preds play defense. I'll think on this one for a while. Would like to be involved with the Wings in some fashion here.

More later, going to settle in and watch some hoops.

I'm on

So if I had to add a 3rd book (Sportsbook & RB), what's the best overall for props primarily in non FB season? Bovada?

I crushed the Ducks live 2nd and 3rd period last night. Taking a piece of that to do this:

Shocked and saddened that you didn't play Dre day over 11.5!

Thunder @ Rockets tonight (HOU B2B)

Golden State @ Thunder tomorrow (OKC B2B)

Golden State @ Rockets Saturday (GS B2B)
Transitive Property of Equality is the following property: If a = b and b = c, then a = c. It's one of the equivalence properties of equality. This is a only a property of equality and inequalities so therefore one must be cautious when attempting to develop arguments using the transitive property in other settings. Here is an example of an unsound application of the transitive property: "Team A defeated team B, and team B defeated team C. Therefore, team A will defeat team C."

Sagarin makes this a 4-point game in favor of the Warriors even with Houston's home-court advantage factored in. The results of the Thunder's last two games involving Houston and Golden State can be explained by the five days off the Thunder just had. Now you have the value on Golden State, especially after Kerr just rested his two dudes last. He knew tonight would be the real test, after all the Warriors took the last three games from the Thunder anyway.

Warriors 125

Davidson is 12-3 SU and 12-1 ATS this season. KP made Davidson -2 and Sagarin made Davidson -4.73. The line opened at PK with over 70% now backing Davidson between PK and -1.5. That's a heavily loaded side. Richmond is 0-3 SU and ATS versus Davidson since 2011, including a 14-point loss at Davidson on Jan 03 as a 6-point underdog. Richmond is only 4-10 ATS this season. I think it's too easy to take Davidson, and the book could have lined Davidson giving up more points as the favorite and gotten equal action. It smells fishy to me so I'm backing Richmond.

Also, a game I'm not playing, but I think Pepperdine covers. They are 4-0 SU and ATS at home versus Portland L4 years. PEP is 12-2-1 ATS this season. KP makes it PEP -8 and Sagarin makes it PEP -7, yet the majority of the bets are on Portland without even giving them six points. I think PEP covers and screws the public backers.

edit: it looks like the money shifted to Pepperdine since this morning, my bad, that last part of the writeup sucks now

Avs (+170) at Bolts- No interest for me here. Av's have been playing better as of late but every time I decide to play them they don't come through. My numbers actually call for a close Av's win, but no way to play that with TB being stellar at home. Bolts have been winning but I don't think they've been playing as well as the win loss total indicates. PASS.

Oil at Panthers (-210) -Oilers are starting Fasth which means the Panthers are live. Even though the Oilers have been playing better I like the Panthers here, but only in a parlay. I also like the over 5.5 here at EV money.

Caps at Stars (-160) Caps off of tough loss to Preds last night, no Holtby in net, 1-6 this year on 2nd night of back to back........everything points to Dallas here. Stars are pretty banged up however. Lehtonin is back in net and he has struggled. Numbers call for an under play but gut tells me over. Should be a pretty good game but I'll PASS.

Yotes at Wild (-210) Playing the Wild at -210. I'll take things I'll never do for $1,000 please Alex. Dubnyk takes on his former team after shutting out the Sabes in his first game in a Wild uniform. Smith is back in net for the Yotes. No thanks. I do think the Wild win this game but I'm not about to put them in a parlay.

Flames (+150) at Sharks-I think there's value on Calgary here but Niemi and San Jose has had really good success historically at home vs. the Flames. I'll pass, but could certainly see a play on Calgary.

Ducks (+125) at Kings-Ducks coming off a win last night against the Devils, but have been pretty good on 2nd night of back to backs, 4-3, have played very well against LA as of late and my numbers call for the Ducks. At +125 I'll probably play them. I also like the over 5 1/2 at +115 here.

My sister's dirtbag husband took off 12 years ago, leaving her to raise three small children as he picked up and moved to Vegas to live the good life.

Just found out he's on his last legs in Hospice care. Cancer finally gets one right.

ETA: He never sent one dime to her and called the kids once a year.

As you were.

I did, but didn't post it. Was a "fun" play.

Final Saturday Pucks Card:

NYI team total over 2 1/2 -110

Ed/Fla over 5 1/2 EVEN

Ducks +130

An/LA over 5 1/2 +115

Ducks team total over 2 1/2 -115

Isles +110

Blues/Sens ML PL +118

Bruins/Panthers ML PL +118

Sitting on Indy at 22 to 1 to win the SB before the season started. Anyone with any good ideas on how to hedge this other than taking the NE ML at -300?

Thinking of taking NE/SEA SB at -125.... TIA

my Pistons
One of the best games I've ever seen. Pacers' biggest lead was 11, and I think like three different times led by DD. At one point the Pistons scored 10 points in three posessions. Had never seen that before. Jennings is good for you guys, too. That guy is real good.
