Military Bowl:As I said before I'll be there for this game so I wanted some action. The total is 70.5 which is ridiculous for a neutral site game, even if Toledo is playing. It is supposed to rain tomorrow night and RFK doesn't drain very well and it is gonna be windy on Wednesday. Air Force is one of the best coached teams in CFB and they will have what would probably considered to be a home crowd at RFK. Any tickets not sold by tomorrow will be given out via USOs and family support centers on the surrounding bases in the area so a lot of Air Force backers. I think Air Force runs at will, controls the clock and plays just enough defense to hold Toledo down to some extent. Playing Air Force ML +140Considering under 70.5
40 mph winds possible yet the total is still climbing. lol

You guys see that tribecalledjeffrey is 8 - 0 in the Bowl pool???

He's got Purdue and NCST today...

WMU/Purdue side down from 3.5 to 1.5 in a matter of an hour. I have WMU +130, should be a pretty tight game.
Sitting on a 4 teamer (saints and over in)with WMU ML and Air Force ML. Sitting on another with (saints/over)Purdue -3 and Air Force +3. Finally a 5 team teaser (saints/over)Purdue +3, Air Force +9 and under 76.5. Go AIR FORCE!!!!!

Looks like WMU winning by two and Air Force winning 10-0 would make you a rich sailor.

One of the two parlays will lose, but i was torn on this Purdue/WMU game. WMU has never won a bowl game. Purdue early in the yr was playing as bad as Minnesota. Smaller school pass happy team vs. Big ten run happy team. My prevailing thought was bigger school, bigger/faster players should have the edge. You just never know with the layoff and mental state of teams. Thanks to RN and rest of the board for the Saints/over play yesterday. Nice hit all around.

I can't believe these two are announcing a bowl game. ANY bowl game. She drives me nuts. And did you hear what that dude just said? About whether it's time to go for it instead of kicking a FG on 4th and 10. In the first quarter!!! :lmao:

gonna see if i can get 5 in a row here. maybe one day i can pull it off :bag:

#2 o31 1st half for western michigan and purdue

if this hits #3 will probably be cbb wisconsin -4.5 1h vs. nebraska (nebraska's 1st time seeing that D, surely they will start out really slowly, welcome to the big 10) :boxing:
THERE HE IS!
#3 gonna be pitt team total u68 cbbirish arent scared. won 27 straight at home, know they have to slow the tempo down to win this game. gotta think they keep pitt under this number here, especially if woodall isnt 100%

I have yet to touch it but weather forecast is calling for 41 degrees and winds between 15 and 25 mph with gusts to 40. This won't effect Air Force that much but it will put but both teams in situations where 3rd down and 6 or longer will be tougher to convert. I think I like Air Force even more now but I'm still skittish on the total because Toledo's D is so horrible.

What's the formula to calculate how many wins a team is on pace for at any given moment?

Looking to have an excel spreadsheet update automatically in my NBA Wins Total contest but have no clue about math. NONE.

i.e. - Celtics with zero wins are on pace for 0 wins at the end of 66 games.

heat are on pace for 66 wins. I'm just looking for the math behind it.

Did some Super Bowl shoping tonight with the money I'm going to collect on NFL season bets. My view is the NFC > AFC this year and GB and NO are >>> then all the other teams in the NFC.

10 units GB +160

4 units NO +500

((Games Won/Games Played) * Amount of games left) + Games Won ?

dont see how nebraska can keep up with these guys...especially vs. the number 1 d in the nation :boxing:

It would be just my luck to handycap a game only to watch it go up in flames because the punter all of a sudden decided to wear gloves made of stone.

If you really look at a game and you think you made the right call by critically looking at all the variables, those are the toughest to take. I think if you get good at it you can win 60-65% but I also think this is a small number of games. You can't handicap each and every game without a ####### staff, so you pick the ones you really like then hope to do a little better than even on the others you play. But when the punter is trying to give the game away, yeah that sucks. Both teams giving away large chunks of yards but not a whole lot of scoring.

Taking the Lakers -5 tonight. I know that they are playing thier 3rd game in 3 nights. Just can't see them starting 0-3 or repeating the 1 for 16 from three point land like last night. Utah is a young rested team, but I still think LA finds a way to get the W tonight.

Belk Bowl:NC State -2 right nowThis line has been moving between 1 and 2.5 as people try to decide which side to play in what amounts to a paper pick'em. Louisville has a pretty good defense but it is probably helped by their presence in the Big East which is averse to offense. Louisville has a freshman quarterback who is prone to mistakes and they also have a fairly average running game. This puts the game squarely in the hands of the young signal caller.NC State counters with one of the better secondaries in the country. They are fast, they force a ton of turnovers and they have the best player on either team in CB D Amerson. On offense the Wolfpack have a ton of issues running the ball but when they do run, they win. They have quite a bit of offensive talent that is still growing but they also make a lot of mistakes and can be downright terrible sometimes. NC State is awful on the road, Louisville is good on the road. But this game is in Charlotte so it's nearly a home game for NC State which should help their confidence. I think what it comes down to for me in what is a pick'em game is who is probably the better team based on what we know. Neither is very careful with the ball, and both have had some real stinkers this year. NC State though had in what my opinion is one of the most impressive wins in college football this year, a 37-13 shellacking of Clemson. I think Louisville could win this game, but I think it would be close if they did. NC State has the kind of talent and in game spurts to win this game by three TDs. They won't, but I think this is my deciding factor.Playing: NC State -1.5Considering: Over 44
Thank you for this. Made for a nice parlay.

Layed half off here on The Vile -.5 Playing for a 8 point middle.
I don't like in-game bets, but this is one I probably should do. Thinking....
Ok, did it for .5u
I'm going to be honest. I'm slightly happy right now.
Yeah, real nice call here Ref. Finished 3-1 up 7581 Lhucks units today. :hifive:
I'm thrilled this came in, lhucks units all around. My next muti unit lean on my personal radar is the over in the No Ill Ark St game. That said I'm slightly disapointed that it's the second to last game of the bowl season. I still like the under in the Bama game, but that number seems to be climbing again.

I have two multi-unit bets out, USC/Neb U 48.5 (my #1 play of the bowl season) and USC -1.5. Total is at 63 now in the NIU/Arky State game. That still a play? Haven't followed that line.

All the way down to 46 now, so looks like many agree with you. Ill look at it, good chance I'll have something down on it.NIU total started off at 62. Take a look at the totals in the games NIU played this year. Every game vs a team that has an average O went over 60 no problem. I feel good enough about Ark St being able to put up at least 24 and maybe even more. NIU shuuld take care of the rest. We shall see.

Can't freakin WAIT for this one! Have fun, Doc. :banned:

Air Force scored 45 points in each of its final two games, but no offense has been more prolific since the start of November than Toledo's.Although coach Tim Beckman has since left the Rockets, they seem unlikely to experience any drop off in production for the Military Bowl with offensive coordinator Matt Campbell now in charge. In a matchup of high-powered offenses, the Falcons and Rockets meet for the first time Wednesday at RFK Stadium.Just days after Toledo (8-4) accepted an invitation to play in the fourth edition of the bowl game in the nation's capital, Beckman left the program after three seasons and become coach at Illinois.Although Beckman came to the Rockets after spending more than a decade of coaching on the defensive side of the ball, it was Toledo's offense that came to flourish under Campbell. Athletic director Mike O'Brien originally named the 32-year-old Campbell an interim coach for the bowl game, but has since dropped the interim title."We are very pleased that Matt Campbell has agreed to become the head football coach at the University of Toledo," O'Brien said. "There is no doubt that Matt has done a terrific job in his three years as our offensive coordinator. The performance of our offense speaks for itself."The Rockets averaged 42.3 points this season -- best in the Mid-American Conference and eighth nationally -- and since the start of November, they've averaged an FBS-best 53.8. Running a spread offense, Toledo averaged 221.2 yards rushing and 272.0 passing, one of 14 FBS schools above 200 in both categories."The first thing that pops out to me is they can put up a lot of points," Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson said. "If it turns into a shootout, then, hey, this is going to be a fun ball game to play in."Jefferson likely feels that way because his team is also capable of piling up points, ranking 22nd in the nation with 34.4 per game. He probably also likes his team's chances against a Toledo defense that's prone to giving up a lot of points, as the Rockets allowed an average of 30.9.In back-to-back weeks to open November, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan each put up 63 points against the Rockets, though Toledo managed to win one of those contests. While the Rockets run a balanced offense, most of the Falcons' yardage comes on the ground. Running the triple option, Air Force (7-5) is second in the FBS in rushing at 320.3 yards a contest.Asher Clark leads the way with 1,096 rushing yards, while Mike DeWitt has run for 543 and Jefferson 492. DeWitt and Jefferson are tied with a team-high 10 rushing TDs, and Air Force has run for 38 scores -- fourth in the FBS.Although the Falcons prefer to pound the ball on the ground, Jefferson has proved he can move the team through the air. The senior threw for 221 yards and matched a career high with three touchdown passes in a 45-21 win over Colorado State in the regular-season finale Nov. 26.Air Force may have to rely on the pass a bit more because Toledo has been solid against the run, allowing an average of 123.2 yards, while ranking 109th out of 120 FBS schools in pass defense at 277.9.While Jefferson has made 43 straight starts, accounted for 64 career touchdowns and is the only quarterback in the history of service academy football to lead his team to four straight bowl games, Terrance Owens has made just two starts this season at QB for Toledo. Those came in place of Austin Dantin, who started the first 10 games before a concussion sidelined him. He is expected to be available for the bowl game, but it is unclear who will start.Owens had shared time with Dantin before his injury and both quarterbacks have played well, throwing 15 touchdowns and three interceptions apiece. Owens, however, has come on strong since Dantin's injury, completing 80.2 percent of his passes for 860 yards with nine touchdowns and one INT in the last three games. He found all-conference receiver Eric Page 16 times for 145 yards and a touchdown in Toledo's 45-28 win over Ball State in the regular-season finale Nov. 25.Page is third in the nation with 112 receptions for 1,123 yards and 10 TDs.While Owens, Page and the passing game have been effective lately, Toledo's ground game has also excelled with Adonis Thomas amassing 648 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in his last four games. Thomas leads the Rockets in rushing with 963 yards and is tied with Morgan Williams for the team lead with 11 touchdown runs.Thomas and Williams could be poised for big games against Air Force, which ranks 113th against the run at 227.8 yards a game. The teams had a common opponent this season, each losing to Boise State. The Rockets suffered a 40-15 home defeat to the Broncos on Sept. 16, and the Falcons lost 37-26 on the road Oct. 22.

Air Force may have to rely on the pass a bit more because Toledo has been solid against the run, allowing an average of 123.2 yards, while ranking 109th out of 120 FBS schools in pass defense at 277.9.
I think the bolded is one of those throwaway stats. Nobody NEEDS to run on them because their pass defense is non-existent.Still, even if they are "decent" against the run, the triple-option presents unique challenges which Toledo doesn't see in the MAC.

Looking to make some money, and i think i may have found a nice in. But it will need a collective movement by the gambling nation. Checked out the exotic bets at sportsbook, and Michelle Bachman is +12500 to be elected president. I know this lady is likely certifiable nuts, but there are a lot of nutty people in this country. Is there anyway we can collectively push this lady forward to make us all a small fortune?

We could play it a little safer with the country, and find a way to push her or Rick Santorum to win the Republican nominee. She is at +5000, and he is +7500. I already have + odds on Romney to win this, but am willing to try one of these if we can get a bit of momentum going. I know the politcal threads around here get crazy, any chance we can work with this?

I tried this before with Sanjaya on American Idol and got screwed (i think that was the kid's name), but would love to find a way to make a boat load of money off of this crap if possible. So who is in????
