FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (3 Viewers)

This looks like a good bet on Ohio St at this point? I assume they will be a favorite the rest of the way, unless they meet Kentucky in the final? What would you guess would be the kentucky/OSU spread? Will Ohio State win the NCAA Championship?11:00 AM 1511 Yes +260
4.5? shrug.
so 4.5 would put OSU ML about 190ish vs Kentucky? Probably better to just play OSU ML the next two games then assuming Kentucky doesnt lose the next two.

I have 2u on KU at 22-1 that I got when the season started.

Not really a way to hedge now, so I'm just sacrificing small animals to the grambling gods.

I am hoping that they are a big favorite if they make the final, so I can hedge there.

+260

UK/Baylor OVER 147

Ducks +100 (hoping Turco does indeed start.)

Pens/Devils O5.5 +110 (gonna keep riding this train, especially with Brodeur looking long in the tooth lately)

Parlay: Panthers/UK/Kansas +250

gllllll

My evo account was soooo close to being even.. and then I lost both games yesterday and back down 5.5 units :bag:

Baylor +7.5

Baylor ML +310

Risking 1 unit on each

It is called March Madnesss for a reason so WTF....Everyone seems to assume that Kentucky is just going to roll everyone. Indy kept it close for a while and Baylor is a tougher matchup for Kentucky. I think this one is coming down to the wire. (and I need something to watch and root for while prepping for a bases draft tomorrow night :bag: )

:goodposting: Depends on what happens today of course, but right now I think that's right on.
Kentucky/OSU spread wouldn't be 4.5, imo. I'd say pk. They've been neck and neck in most power ratings all season long. If you compare spreads vs. common opponents or common opponents' opponents, they come out almost identical. You might get OSU at +1, but I don't think there's any way it gets to 2 or higher. Public perception is the Kentucky is a good deal better than OSU, but when you look at what the linesmakers think and the market thinks, that's not the case.

Just came out:

@InsideCarolina UNC PG Kendall Marshall will NOT play vs. Kansas on Sunday, according to team sources.

I just think that if you want anyone to bet on OSU you gotta give them at least 4 points. And people who are going crazy over Kentucky will be willing to lay 4 and eventually push that up to 5.

I have no idea what I'm betting on these college hoops games today, but I'm sure pulling for UNC. I drafted them in a Calcutta as my highest bid. I got Louisville as well, and with them winning yesterday, a Tar Heels victory gives me 2 teams in the Final 4. 6u buy in, 48u pool. VERY top-heavy split, even landing one Team in the final 4 is barely getting your money back. Seeing as how both my Teams are, IMO, unlikely to get the the Final, much less win the Championship this is my most likely my last, best chance at making money.

Kentucky and Kansas SHOULD win today, I'd imagine. That short line on UNC/Kansas gives me hope, though. The injury has to be built into that, I'd imagine. I'm too worried about a possible backdoor-ing to bet Kentucky, but I don't have the stones to bet against them...

I've watched Baylor some this year, I think they might be the most athletic team not named Kentucky left. I think I'll play the side here but I wouldn't be shocked if Baylor won this game.

Or notOver backers need that Baylor white guy to start hitting his shots and Baylor to get this under 10.

so far, I'm on:

Kansas -2.5

Kansas ML as 2nd part of a parlay

Boston College hockey

Ducks

Ducks/Bruins Over 5

Devils/Penguins Over 5.5

Debating a play on this one:

Predators ML (+115) - This is tough. Blackhawks are on a roll and Preds are slumping, plus Preds played yesterday while Hawks have been off since Wednesday night. But I really think the loss of Duncan Keith (along with no Toevs) is huge for them. Plus, Radulov figures to start getting acclimated and provide a spark. Preds are 3-0 against them in 2012. Maybe the over is a better play here. Amazingly, the Preds have the #1 PP in the league and Chicago ranks 25th in PK%.

I looked at this one but like the Yotes +110 a little better. Even coming off a game last night they still have more to play for and St Louis is on a long road trip so I don't think the Yotes travel matters as much.

caught my typo and edited it. it's 5.5.

Not sure I can talk myself into the Preds since it's their 3rd game in 4 nights and Rinne has put up some stinkers recently. Chicago seems ripe for a loss though. Keith is huge for them and they don't have the blueline depth to cover it up very well. Oduya helps I guess, but their bottom 3 are going to be pretty shaky.

Any thoughts on Yotes/Blues?

and we move on.............

so is turco starting? i'm seeing mixed messages
nobody knows. since there was no afternoon skate, we probably won't find out until pregame warmups.Bruins reporter thinks we'll see Thomas:http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/bruins/extras/bruins_blog/
Look for Thomas (31-19-0) in net again against the Ducks, although it would not be a shock if coach Claude Julien called Marty Turco out of the bullpen. With the Bruins still not among the teams to clinch a playoff spot, though, it's more likely that Julien would stick with Thomas, who was his old Vezina-like self in LA, turning back 40 of 42 shots. Not many of the shots were point-blank, stellar opportunities by the Kings, but they kept up the pressure petty much from start to finish, other than a protracted lull in the first and second periods that had the Bruins outshooting the Kings, 11-0.
