FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (9 Viewers)

What do you guys think about the Stanford/UMass game at MSG?

If Stanford were playing at home tonight would be so much easier to pick.

The last time Stanford played MSG, they led Syracuse until the last 4 minutes of the game. But 'Cuse turned on full-court pressure to get back in it, went 5-5 from the field and made 5-7 free throws to win 69-63. Granted that was a while back, the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-Off back in November, but it was still this season.

Last Tuesday, UMass overcame a 17 point deficit to beat Drexel in a hostile environment and kind of caught everyone by surprise. I think Stanford has had enough time to watch tape, see what Drexel did wrong, and prepare for what UMass has been doing to these other teams as well. I don’t think UMass will be catching Stanford by surprise tonight.

I am not 100% yet but I kind of side with the public on this one.

About to lock in Wazzu ML for way more $ than I should :)
Tailed you for .5u last night just to have something to play. Tuned in at halftime to check things out, and wound up watching a very entertaining 2nd half. Great game, nice call, and thanks. A win is a win for me, but congrats on hitting a big winnner for you.I'm having a hard time not jumping all over Stanford -2.5 vs U.Mass tonight in the NIT Semi's. Stanford is already being given consideration by the look-ahead-to-next-year crew as potentially the best team in the 2012-13 PAC 10(12)......thing is, I'm holding a deep grudge vs the Minutemen for costing me dearly in the A-10 Tournament beating Temple outright, and again last week beating @ Drexel. I lost way too many units on those two games. I very much want some of that back at their expense.U.Mass has been playing way over their heads for too long now to sustain it any longer, IMO. First, they upset #24 Temple on 3/9 in the A-10 Quarterfinals. They barely lost to St. Bonaventure the next day in the Semi's when they clanged a 3 pointer off the rim with less than 2 seconds to go, which cost them a ticket to the Dance. Three days later as an NIT #5 Seed they won @ psychotic #4 Miss. St. in double OT, won by 10 @ #1 Seton Hall on 3/17, and @ #3 Drexel a week ago today, outright as a 6 point dog. Three road wins in a row before traveling to MSG,NYC for the NIT Final Four. Unreal. Stanford entered the NIT as a #3 Seed, and won all three games at home, whipping Cleveland St. in the 2nd half when the Vikings best player got injured, then getting a scare vs Illinois St, who took them to OT...the Cardinal responded, playing one of their best games of the season and absolutely butchered Nevada 84-56, but those were all home games vs lower seeded Teams.I can't believe U.Mass. can keep this going. Can they?!?!?!Thoughts?

Wish I knew more about Hockey to play the props.. :kicksrock:time to start paying attention :nerd:
I guess I'm not into the gambling part of gambling enough to want to bet props. I take no satisfaction in tailing a number and then cashing in or losing on a number or player I'll never watch. Seems to me I can do this with the stock market. Now the SOG props do interest me but not enough to make it a regular part of my gaming. :2cents:

It was unbelievable what happened to Drexel vs U.Mass., given what had happened to them in their previous game vs Northern Iowa. Same exact thing: a dominant 1st half, followed by a clunker 2nd half. Bruiser Flint must have wanted to shoot his whole team. I know I did, and probably still do, because I was using that game to get back what I lost on U.Mass./Temple. I can't see that happening with Stanford, who are probably a smarter and more mentally tough team than Drexel, but again, I'm jaded, and have an agenda that I'm trying to rationalize...

I would say for right now hold off because there’s still a lot of time before tipoff.. that way we get to absorb all the input we can, monitor twitter buzz, etc. And I also think there’s a chance we get the hook back and can bet at -2.Headed out for now, but I expect there to be a lot more info to review in a few hours and maybe some other FBG cappers chime in here as well.

This thread has jumped the shark. I wish I could get down with the hockey plays. It's just not my thing. :kicksrock:
Real baseball in 16 hours!
Under 7(-120)!!
Aside from matchbook, 5dimes is the best site for baseball? Has Kurt said if he will be offering lines to compete with 5dimes overnight lines?
I'm not sure what kurts offering for baseball, i believe he stated 10c lines...5dimes have 5c overnight lines($500 limit)Hoping EVO has overnight lines because most of my baseball stuff is overnight

There are a few that are tantalizing tonight. I like Predators un 27.5 for now, few others look possible

Without Keith and Toews I kinda like the Hawks U30.5 at NJD as well.
 no way we can go 0-3 with me tailing you here bud, this one looks like it should definitely hit. I know the games are getting a little stranger since everybody is playing for something different, but as long as STL and NJ can do what they do best tonight i will be happy.

I'm on these 3 SOG props:

Buffalo Sabres Over 27.5 (-115)

Tampa Bay Lightning Under 27.5 (-115)

Minnesota Wild Under 27.5 (-115)

hmm, i think you are on the right side of all 3. TB was an anomaly yesterday, but i don't know what to expect from Boston and i refuse to let those chumps cost me another dollar at least until the end of the weekETA: tailing the Wild play

Going with Stanford ATS. Waiting until the last minute to see if it gets to -2.

Sounds weird, but I think all the UMass "home crowd" hoopla ends up more as a distraction for them than anything else.

GL

I'm also on the Penguins/Isles Over 5.5 (-120), Penguins PL (-110), and 3-team parlay (NJ, PIT, BOS)

EDIT: sorry Bender

It all depends on your objectives. My satisfaction comes in being able to provide my family and myself with a better living. Props have been life-altering for me. In the last 3 years I have been able to put 20% down on a new house, purchase (outright) a new suv for my wife, a new truck for myself, re-model my kitchen, allow my wife to stay home and take care of my newborn (now toddler) son, start a nice little college fund for my son, amongst many other things. I am the last guy to make a LOOK AT ME post, I just want to illustrate that simply without props, I couldn't afford many/any of these things. There are so many variables in betting sides/totals. When betting player props, I have to figure out what 1 guy is going to do. When betting sides, there are 15, 20, 40, maybe even 60 guys that factor into the outcome. Even when another variable is introduced in player vs player props, my win % drops significantly. Now I have to figure out what 2 guys are going to do. Even If I nail 1 of the guys right on, I could still very easily lose. Obviously it is magnified by 15, 20, even 60 x's with sides. If you are in this for the sole reason of watching teams compete and thats all you enjoy is the team aspect and making money is not something you are concerned with, then props are definitely not for you. I promise you though that props are much easier to beat than sides/totals, and I cannot understand why it would make your viewing pleasure any less by betting on Pavel Datsyuk over 2.5 shots on goal. Even if you cannot watch the player on TV, it is still enjoyable (at least for me) to make money

5 Dimes doesn't cut your limits. They haven't cut mine and I've been playing them since November.

The suck of it is they don't offer team shots on goal which I am currently banging my head against the wall over because GR has been absolutely destroying them.

:wall: really looked like the right play here. Not looking so hot with Chi having 22 at the halfway point. Oh well, i think i am bringing my black cloud from March over to your plays.

:goodposting: Without being able to bet props, I would have to get a legit full-time job (something I really don't want to do). Like GR said, it's another source of income. I'll bet on anything I have an edge on. American idol, hot dog eating contest, coin flipping, etc. Doesn't matter. If I think the bet is +ev I'm making it.

And the suck is they are $100 max bets.

I've heard you're an absolute genius at props and I respect that completely. For me wagering is not and never has been about money, I only risk what I can afford to lose. For me beating the man (Vegas) is what it's all about and when I'm on a role I think I know more than anyone about sports which I love. I think betting props would drive me nuts and if I ever decide to do it, you're the first person I'll call.

Yeah that's true, I don't know any better, what is a good max? I know Evo is 300..But it's all good with me though because it also limits how much you can lose :) Plus, that's a unit to me anyway. It should probably be noted that it's not necessarily a 100 max bet, but 100 max bet on (+) lines and 100 max win on (-) lines.Anyway, I emailed them today about the availability of a team SOG prop. Anyone else with a 5D account I encourage to do the same!

Anyone fund sportsbook lately?
You mean within the last hour?
In general. Last prepaid card I got wouldn't work there.
I'm confused at what is confusing here
Why not just use a regular card?
dummy accounts = one good reason. Also, some visa flip the #### out when you process an oversees shady card. Bank of America, being one. They will put it through, but they should down the card and you have to call in to get it unlocked. goodtimes.

Sabres covered early. Bolts with 8 shots through 2 periods. These are funWild under in trouble though.
