FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (11 Viewers)

CBB: Minnesota -15

South Dakota's best player sprained his ankle yesterday at practice. If he doesn't play the Gophers win by 30. Even if he does the 15 is a solid play.

Some of these teams have up to six weeks off between games. In that time most have finals, Christmas at home, and chasing #####. Most of these bowl games mean nothing to the individual player. That's why handicapping bowl games is so hard. I like your data. Look up past bowl performance by teams that have had disappointing seasons, possible coaching changes, number of seniors playing for draft position versus avoiding injury...see where I am going?

Again, I like your data. In the past, I have played under totals to some modicum of success, because offense tends to suffer from lack of practice more than defense. Again, along that thought, play the better defensive team sides. It's tough to handicap. Vegas makes most of its money on these games, because they are smart, smarter than you, and smarter than me.

 I know you don't particularly like me, and you probably think that I have no idea what I am talking about. That's cool, and I understand.

For what it's worth.
Double not true. Thanks for the info. I get killed on bowls but I still love it and it is a huge challenge. I think I'll play the outliers for X amount each and see what the results are at the end. Also think any of the games prior to X-Mas are a bit easier to judge as my bowl campaigns tend to start unraveling on or about January 1st.

Also think unders are the way to go but I hate losing unders way more than I hate losing overs. That Temple/Wyoming under last year still makes me mad, back-doored with 3 seconds left.

Update: Only 9 outliers, I thought the UCLA spread was 10 when in fact it is 1.5. I had UCLA -4 so that one is in the no play zone. And I refuse to play WVU under, so that one is out too. 8 outliers I'll try as a test, of those three or four I might play separately because I really do like them beyond the numbers.
Me too, it's human nature. When you play the over, there is always hope, whereas playing unders you might be done with by halftime, leading one to drink another beer and chase.

Feel like I'm forcing it a bit here, having a hard time finding plays I like. That being said:

CBB

Northeastern +4

Richmond -6

Oklahoma +5

Harvard +4 1/2

Kentucky/Samford over 134

Miss. St. -8

San Francisco -2

30-25 +2.7 units

First college play of the year. While I am very average at CBB, I make up for it in stubbornness... GL

Arkansas -4.5

But this morning, Terry Vandrovec of the Argus Leader reported that during a practice last night, Wolters rolled one of his ankles and is now questionable for tonight’s game.

While Wolters did participate in the team’s shoot around this morning, as Vandrovec said, the guard likely wouldn’t be at 100 percent even if he does suit up.

Without Wolters, this game might not have much drama as there aren’t a ton of pieces surrounding the senior point guard.

And if the Jackrabbits weren’t weakened enough, they might also be without Taevaunn Prince, who had some sort of toe injury on Friday.

Together, Wolters and Prince make up almost 37 percent of the Jackrabbits’ scoring.

:scared: i don't like having this much riding against Jackrabbits

That's twice now Ive been ####ed by Jackrabbits
Me too, I tailed. First time was better though. When I was in graduate school one of our graduate asst/PHD students was this girl from South Dakota. I asked her where she went to school and she said SDSU. I said, "oh the Jackrabbits." She was impressed with that and the fact I had spent time on the dark continent which she had done quite a bit of reading on. I recommended a book to her that night and she immediately went and found it and read it. The next time I saw her was about four days later. She handed me a note telling me to meet her at her apartment at 3:30 pm and not to be late. I got there, we didn't say a word to each other except for her yelling "oh God, right there!"Lesson here: don't ever underestimate a Jackrabbit.
Great story.
:goodposting:

I gotta look up that SDSU chick on facebook. No idea what her last name is though, need to look through my old papers to see if it's on there. Mulva?

Gophers -4.5 second half :unsure:When do they stick the bench out there? At 10 minutes?
agreed, minor concerns with that, but i'm hoping Minn's fresh bench can off-set the fatigued SDST teamETA: also hope SDST gives up on the 3's when they realize it is a lost cause and let's Minny build a large enough lead in the 2nd so we don't have to worry about it

Seems to me Minnesota's bench guys are way better than SDSU's starters anyway. Hope so anyway.
