Some NFL lines that I think I like for week 1:
Falcons -2.5 over STEELERS
Packers -3 over EAGLES
Falcons should be much better this year then last. Pittsburgh seems to be in a bit of a mess right now, and i do not have much faith they can get it togther before this game. And the Eagles play horrible against 3-4 defenses, and have for the past couple of years. For the life of me I can't figure out why they haven't improved with this, but the fact that they just cut Stacy Andrews and have just begun to have the OL that will start on Sunday practice as one unit can not be that good of a thing.
So anybody have any thoughts on the upcoming games this week? I was thinking about Dolphins -3 over the BILLS as well, but I think the Bills defense will be better then people are thinking they will be.

I will probably take the 2 with Boise at post. Not sure why the line was at 3 in the first place, but equally not sure why it had to move all the way to 2. I make the gm pk to maybe Boise -1. I will bet under too. Looks like SIA took down the first scoring play of the game on all college football games. Sucks, I probably made 5k on those bets alone last year.General Malaise said:

I have a decent middle on a parlay and teaser. Boise -2.5 to finish off a parlay and VT +8 to finish off a teaser. Come on 3-7 Boise win. Might buy some more Boise with the significant line movement.General Malaise said:

I think if you like Navy today a better way to play them is -2 -120 1st downs. I don't have an opinion on the game but bet this anyway. Looking at 1d numbers last season, Navy was up there and Maryland was at the bottom.

I always played 1st score a td. They frequently left these at -170 to -210. They typically are lined -200 to -400. There was many I bet at -180 and the true odds were -400 or so.

I didn't want to share or get into it before the game, but did anyone else think these numbers were off? Greek had Taylor +40 pass AND rush yds vs Moore.Then bodog put up Moore at 206 pass yds and Taylor at 176. Assuming Greek's line is correct (which I am), Taylor is a runner as well and I will give him an estimated number of 25 to 30 rush yds. That means that the passing numbers at bodog is too low on Moore or too high to Taylor. Personally I bet Moore ov 206 pass yds -120 and Taylor un 176 +110. I bet 3x as much on Moore then I did on Taylor. I went back right before the game and looked at my one local credit shop and they had Moore's number at 226 I believe which is closer to the correct number.

Dude, he won like 30K. Last time I was up anywhere NEAR that amount of money and I called to get a payout, it was runaround time. The shop manager gets on the phone... hits you with the "Are you SURE you want a payout? Basketball season is starting soon.... etc" They do everything they can to discourage paying out, but yeah, eventually you'd hope they make good.This was NOT at the Greek, BTW. They are the only place I've used which doesn't bat an eyelash no matter how much you request.

Who actually calls to get a payout anymore? Whenever I was getting them, I just did it on their website and got a check in the mail.

Big fan of this team, didn't watch the game until their last drive, but they brought back pretty much everyone from a very strong team. Get by Oregon State at home and go to Nevada - that's about it on their schedule. Then, in the title game they will be at least +7 if not more to a very strong big school. But even so +200/+300 at worst.

I hope I'm not alone here. You ever have those weeks where you look at the NFL card and you start licking your chops? Well, this would NOT be one of those weeks. This is the hardest Week 1 slate I can ever recall.
I'm having a difficult time even finding a second team to fill in a 6-point teaser! I like the Steelers +8½ (even with Dixon at QB) as the first leg. Don't sleep on the Raiders, folks. I see everyone and their brother jumping on Tennessee betting-wise and in suicide pools. I'm telling you... we are MUCH improved.

I too like the Ravens alot in teasers. I also like the Bears teased down to 0 and the Titans teased down to -.5. I was curious as to why Lumpy didn't list them on his teaser plays for the week. Not crossing zero so thats not it. I think the Bears will have a mediocre season but should be able to give the lions the L. Raiders should be improved but not enough talent to win in nashville imo.culdeus said:

i don't have chi or ten in because the line is right on a bad number....at 5.5 i'd tease the dog to 11.5, 6 and 6.5 are weird numbers, i'd prefer the line settle at 7 or 5.5 so i can bet on the game
bookmaker has TEN at -5.5 right now, greek has ten at -6.5....just kind of want to wait and see what happens to the line as the week progresses.CHI is the only team I didn't watch this preseason. I didn't see any of their games, didn't look at any boxscores, nothing. I really don't know anything about them yet.
