So an old buddy of mine is into trends (and numbers). The guy is classic, very smart, and does his own research. He's truly an exceptional horse racing handicapper but has also become very good at football over the last 10+ years. He does his own research on this stuff from an old book he has

, the guy cracks me up. I like to hear his take on things, including FF, because he has a knack of putting emotion and all the hoopla aside, which is great, he's more rational. He actually reminds me of Yudkin, his style. Anyway, here's an email he sent yesterday:
"
I tallied the numbers going back to 1991 with my old trend books.
Here is what I got not counting any pushs against the spread or creating a pick/em category:
home teams 58-57 ats
teams off a loss 32-33 ats
teams off a win 56-64 ats
favored teams 56-65
home dogs 9-4( we have 2 this year!)
teams with revenge after just playing the team(last year Eagles and Bengals) 6-5
Dogs have a slight advantage in general. Home dogs was the only really outperforming category."
Not much there, and the only thing that does come up is what we all could assume anyway, although it is nice to verify as such. So I ask him how long it took him to do that and he says an hour and a half.
I'm thinking, there must be a site that does a lot of this #### for him, no? For instance, I know covers has some of that stuff but it's pretty basic, what about others? Where do we send "Wags" to save him some time?
Oh, and further research showed KC wasn't a play for him. BUT, that Seattle was an even stronger one, who he is "loading on". And Wags doesn't load much...not like the rest of us anyway, because of course, it doesn't make sense.
