FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (10 Viewers)

I bet the NYY under and sent a copy of it along with the Philly to win the series wagers to my wife.

She's a big Yankee fan and it just torques the hell out of her when i bet anything against them!! :lmao:

ETA - Showed her that the Boston line was @ 99.5 and now she is tripping!

"No way the Sox win more than the Yankees"

No talking to her now, she won't listen to logic when it comes to the Yankees. I should get days of entertainment out of this.

I got so excited reading this thinking i missed it......

Not a big deal, sportsbook.com did the same thing on their twitter feed, said highest number was philly at 98.5.....rushed to sportsbook.com and it was still sitting at 97.5

It's the most wonderful time of the year...CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK!!!

...or Weeks, I guess, since the Conference Tourney's won't finish up until the late afternoon of Selection Sunday.

Not necessarily from a betting standpoint, but moreso as a college basketball lunatic, I think I actually like these 2 weeks more than the Big Dance itself. For many of the small-Conference and mid-major schools, just getting that Bid/Invite To The Party is such a victory in itself, and 'just getting there' is enough of an achievement to call it a day, since the overwhelming majority of them wind up one and done...but the fights for those Bids that go on in the one-Bid Conferences are some of the most competitive games of the entire Season. Upsets a-plenty! Pure Awesomeness!!!

I've got just one so far tonight: Missouri Valley #4 VMI (+7) vs #1 Coastal Carolina

Chanticleers were dominant and dominating until a few weeks ago when they lost their starting PG Greenwood (injury) and leading scorer Holloway (suspended) for the Season. They've been sliding since. VMI, meanwhile, finished the Season on a tear, winning their final 5 Conference games. They play a VERY up-tempo style, second fastest pace in the country, and when their 3's are dropping, they're hard to beat. It's exhausting to play them, especially short-handed. They might even be able to win this one straight up tonight.

Good Luck, fellas!!!

I've got another two, both in the Northeast Conference, starting at 7PM...

#6 Wagner (+8.5) @ #3 Robert Morris - another injury situation, where Robert Morris starting PG Abraham recently went down with an Achilles, and his Season is over. That makes Robert Morris very ordinary, and I don't see them double digits better than Wagner in a Tournament situation...

...I don't like that as much as my VMI play, but I do like this one almost as much as VMI:

#4 Central Connecticut St. (-4.5) vs #5 St. Francis,NY - CCTSU is led by Ken Horton, who led the Conference in scoring, and was just named Conference POY. They've got a solid Coach who's been there a while and taken the school to the Big Dance 3 times in the last 10 years, without a player as good as Horton.

As I've said before, please tail small if you do - these are only one-unit plays at most for me, I'm just talking out loud and trying to find some angles.

Good Luck!!!

Adding Indiana-Wisconsin OVER 126.5

Tom Crean made a point to mention after Indiana's last game against Wisconsin that his team has no chance in a slow paced half court game against the Badgers (and he is right). Indiana is not very effective at anything right now, but they will certainly try to speed things up. Not to mention Indiana's defense has been horrible lately and they tend to foul a lot.

GAAACK!!! Three lousy combined points from going 3-0 last night, instead 1-2. Thanks bmj, as well as the guy that posted the OVER in Wisconsin/Indiana. Helped make the night a winner.

10:25 PM Tip-off: Ohio Valley Conference #2 Morehead State (-3) vs #3 Austin Peay

This Conference is all about the #1 and #2 Seeds: Murray St. and Morehead St...with the Conference Tournament format being the way it is, it's going to be awfully tough for Austin Peay to stay with a superior, and rested opponent after having played last night. Kenneth Faried, Morehead's go-to guy is a beast inside, and they're getting strong guard play from Senior Demonte Harper...-3 is roughly a straight-up W, and I don't see Peay able to handle that inside outside punch on tired legs.

Also, Murray State is very banged up inside, so should both Murray St and Morehead St advance, Morehead St might post as a dog in a #1 vs #2 matchup that they have an excellent chance at winning outright with a '+' Money Line tomorrow at 8PM - it's worth keeping an eye on.

Why not, in.

same here, always enjoy taking a team linked to a place called Morehead St.

Indiana/Illinois UNDER 139 - Too many points for these two teams. I think it will take some above average perimeter shooting to reach that total with these two teams. I expected this to be around 132-134.

continued thanks and appreciation bmj, dr., ref and others.

Living like a leach off the plays you guys have been nailing.

1u Missouri St -3.5

1u Wofford -9.5

Still more to come later this afternoon

Had a 3.5 star play earlier when Atlanta Shots opened at 32.5 -115, but not that it's at 33.5 -135 it's not as good. That said, they have been throwing up 40 shots at homeon the regular of late.

Another three star game tonight is Dallas U 27 -115, but that also has moved to U 26.5 -125

the last three star play is another play on Atlanta Dustin Byfuglien O 4 shots -120 EDIT - Now up to -140

Montreal U is a two star play.

I hope I righted the ship with my Isles/Blues over play this afternoon, one I like tonight is Tampa -140. Detroit/Yotes O5.5 (-105) is good value, might go that route as well since the Wings have 2 combined goals in their past two games and are due to bust out. gllllll

Looks like sportsbook took down all NFL draft props save mr irrelevant. Cam newton not a top 3 pick dropped like a rock, I wanted to see how far it would go.

For those of you taking hockey shots props.... Atlanta at Carolina on Wednesday night. What's the ATL shots line set at? 36?

Flyers/Rangers U 5.5 (-130)

rarely do the Rangers get a 5.5 number because of Lundqvist so take advantage of that by playing the under. Boucher is very capable for the Flyers and the Rangers have issues creating scoring chances a lot of the time. gllll

Chicago Bulls +5 against the slumping heat.

Spurs have lost 2 games at home all year and can cover the small chalk (-2.5) against the Lake show.

Bulls and Spurs today.

also taking the Flyers today too, they should win this one

I was catering a wake yesterday, and missed out on all the hoops action until getting home late last night...just like bmj to have a late play (Fresno) to take advantage of, and wake up to a winner - thanks, man.

For the record today, I'm already on Tennessee ML and Penn State +5. Just want to put out there what I have money on if anyone's tracking.

Big play coming up at 2PM: Missouri Valley Conference Championship - #3 Indiana State v #1 Missouri State (-5)

The line here has moved to -5.5 since I bought, but I'd take it up to 6 comfortably, maybe more. This game was supposed to be Missouri St vs Wichita St, and those two are the class of the Conference. Missouri St had a much easier time vs Creighton last night than Indiana St with Wichita St, who made 2 late runs that Indy St had to ward off. I've got spread for a unit, and ML (-220, now -230), for more..

Missed out on VCU, but trailing Ga Tech and NC State which both look good.

I VERY BADLY want to bet Bucknell. I'm just having trouble with -11.5, in terms of how much I'd like to risk. They should kill it tonight. I'll post in advance if I decide to commit.

Good Luck, all!

Wisconsin/Ohio State UNDER 129 - This is a coaching match up that consistently sends games under. Their game last month in Madison was sitting at 47-32 with about 13 minutes remaining, a huge run of points pushed it over (not to mention Wisconsin hitting 50%+ FG AND 3point %). Ohio State on average gives up 56 points a game at home. I think both defenses flex their muscle a bit today and keep this under. This total should be more like 124.

Holy crow - Bucknell line has dropped to -9. Game is a home game for the Bison, as Patriot League Games are played at the higher Seed. Taking a VERY long look at this now. Anyone else with any thoughts?

No thoughts, since I wouldn't know a member of either team if they fell on me, but I saw it was 9.5 at Sportsbook and played it since you seem to like it a lot.

I can't believe the Rangers have five goals, that's a week's total for them normally.

anybody looking to burn some money:

Dancing With The Stars 12 (ABC) - Odds to Win (All Bets Action)

07/01/11 Chris Jericho +500

20:00 ET

book it!

Missouri State didn't exactly work out as planned, and although I am still liking Bucknell, it's still a big enough spread that I'm not risking enough to make up for those two Missouri St losses (spread and money line), and put them out of my mind, so I've gone and done some digging, and come up with something I'm very confident in:

7:30 PM - American East Conference Semifinals: #2 Boston (-4) v #6 Hartford

The AE Conference Tournament is being hosted in Hartford, so this is a home game for them. Also, they upset #3 Maine last night to advance. Boston has been the best Team in the Conference down the stretch, and they sport the entire Conference's best player, John Holland. I feel very strongly that the circumstances surrounding Hartford are why this line is as close as it is, and that the Cinderella Story for the Hawks ends tonight.

Good Luck, all!

Is that already back on? Who the hell is Chris Jericho?
Well, I have no idea if it is back on because i don't think i can ever watch an episode of this without pulling my eyes out, but jericho is as former WWE wrestler. Charismatic guy, threw ther money in there knowing damn well i just wasted $40. If you have any better ideas who may win Z, please let us know. the accounts can't afford to throw money away these days, so looking to back out if possible. here are the odds: Chelsea Kane +350 Chris Jericho +500 Hines Ward +350 Kendra Wilkinson +200 Kirstie Alley +500 Mike Catherwood +1000 Petra Nemcova +1000 Ralph Macchio +250 Romeo +350 Sugar Ray Leonard +350 Wendy Williams +500 I don't know half the people on that list. i think you can throw Hines Ward out, i don't know if this is the show for him. Sugar Ray may have a chance, and Ralph Machio has a chance. in fact, i am going to throw another $40 out the window right now and bet on a male winner at -125

Memphis Grizzlies +6.5 tonight against the Mavs looks good to me. Memphis are looking to make the playoffs, Mavs are on a very impressive streak but are due for a loss. I don't know if they'll lose outright but it will be a close game. Memphis smacked the Spurs in the mouth the other night at home and almost beat them on the road. And call me paranoid but almost all the public being on the Mavs makes me feel more confident with this pick. Good Luck
