Just got 1st look at lines for tonight's NCAA Hoops Card. It's a small one, only 8 games tonight.4 are Conference Championship Games:1. 7PM Colonial - #2 Old Dominion (-4.5) v #4 Virginia Commonwealth - Too close to call, IMO, but if I had to, I'd play underdog VCU...2. 7PM MAAC - #2 Iona (-8.5) v #4 St. Peter's - I'm not touching this one either, as it could go either way, but it's tough not to take the big dog here...3. 9PM Southern - #1 Charleston v #2 Wofford (-1) - Wofford looks like a good small play to me here: Charleston beat Wofford twice in regular season play, but Wofford is hot right now, having won their last 5 reg season games, and easily winning their two tournament opponents. Wofford has a SuperStar Power Forward, Noah Dahlman, who's a human double-double - when Charleston beat Wofford twice, it was with the aid of big man Jeremy Simmons...who's OUT, recovering from a blood clot. Some front court players have stepped up for Charleston, but Simmons was one of the only players in the country on Woffords schedule who was effective containing him.Dahlman has been a constant for Wofford, and as the season wound down, he got help inside from rebounding machine Tim Johnson, and their 2 Guards, Cam Rundles and Jamaar Diggs have really come on, giving Wofford a very strong, and more importantly, diverse and consistent inside-outside Game. Charleston is very dangerous from long range, and feature one of the top scorers in the country, Andrew Goudelock. Charleston makes it's living through run and gun 3 pointers; Wofford is a plays a rough 1/2court style. Charleston is awful at rebounding, and that's where Wofford makes it's donuts - defensive rebounds and second chance points on offense. It's already very tough for Conference rivals of equal caliber to sweep 3 games from one another, but with Simmons out for Charleston, it's even less likely.I'm not pouring money into this one, but I'm playing it.4. 9PM West Coast - #1 St. Mary's v #2 Gonzaga (-1) - Too close to call, not touching it.The other 4 Games are semifinals for the Summit and Sun Belt Conferences, and I'm going in deep on one line:Summit League Semi's: #1 Oakland (-2.5) v #5 South Dakota St. - Oakland's biggest challenge making the Big Dance would be taking a game lightly, and if there's one chance this might happen, I guess it's here, because the only two Teams in the Conference with even a remote chance of beating them are playing in the other Semi (Oral Roberts and IUPUI). Oakland has a potential NBA lottery pick in Keith Benson, and they've been predicted to win the Conference right out of the Gates...and make the Big Dance...and win an upset game as a 13 Seed, with a possible shot at the sweet 16. The tournament is being played IN South Dakota, and SD St. looked pretty good against IPFW, but Oakland is in a completely different League. This line should go nowhere but up, up, up, and I'd still keep buying. IMO, Oakland is going to mop the floor with them. The other Summit League Game is too close to call, as is the Sun Belt Semi pitting Western Kentucky/North Texas. I'd like to make a play on Middle Tenn. St. vs Arkansas Little-Rock to get back some of the $ Little Rock cost me yesterday taking out Arkansas St., but that Tournament has gone so far off the deep end, with 3 of the top 4 Seeds going down yesterday, that I'll wait until this round is over before looking for something there. So, 8 games, 2 plays: Wofford smaller, Oakland bigger, at least that's what I see...Good Luck!!!
