FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

a bunch of my olympics stuff is on the old RB site. Is he grading them by hand?
I'm with you, I've been trying to get an answer out of kurt on this. I've got olympic futures and a pile of NFL futures and I didn't write any of them down, transition happened so fast and I was away from a computer when it all went down. I'm sure kurt will take care of it but I hate not knowing what to root for in the olympics!!

:goodposting: Seriously, i have had to backtrack in this thread to figure our half of the olympics bets i have had, but there is zero reason to watch the olympics unless you have money on something.

Baltimore Orioles +160

Baltimore prefers to hit a lefty and Moore looks like a good fade coming off his scoreless outing vs LAA Saturday. The Rays seem to struggle in game one of a series and are at 2-5 in the first game off a road trip. The Rays offense is without Longoria & I feel comfortable backing Hunter at Tropicana.

CWS ML

A rested first place team vs LAA the day after their four day marathon in 100°F Arlington. And the Angels have to expect Greinke to go deep despite throwing 111 pitches on Sunday.

I like the baltimore play. As a Sox homer, my recollection is that Grienke has always pitched well against us, no matter what team playing for. Again, just my recollection, haven't checked stats.

I like your calls. Baltimore / CWS. I added the Padres for a 3 team parlay.Regardless of what they did against Zito the Mets don't hit lefties well. I can see a let down from a team that is not very good after a nice series win against the Giants.

Scab refs working the Hall of Fame game Sunday. Reports from camps are that they are "in awe" of NFL players. Not sure what that means as far as how the game will be called. Reluctance to call penalties would be my guess. What the hell.... OVER!

:P I don't put any decent money in play until the regular season. Preseason is chump change.

And I'm only playing with what's in my offshore account. Kurt provides a great service, but those days are over for me. Too easy to dig a huge hole when betting on credit.

:tumbleweed: not as excited this week about the golf tourneys. I took Tiger(heavy juice) in all his matchups as i think he probably wins. 4.5/1 odds not that attractive but i threw a unit on it anyway(just in case he goes low first round and i don't get better odds on the weekend). Played Bo to win at 30/1 too. In the Reno open I have Chris Kirk at 25/1, John Merrick at 30/1, and Camillo at 40/1.
Hmm, just took a look and it seems that Tiger is not doing so hot. Are you looking to hedge out of any of these, or let them all ride?

I thought that was kind of funny too. I don't think Kurt has it in mind for all of us to be betting on credit per se, but it is getting close to it these days with playing these with f'n baseball. Either way, I am sure we are all in for a huge football season and will be reaping the benefits by week 4 or 5. Sorry in advance Kurt, but it is game time :football:

Well, it isn't really funny, but i assume that Kurt expects everyone to have all the money easily available, and not really on a credit basis. The only reason i think it is funny is because i know it is not the style for me either, the months of March-June rippped into my "real world" funds and set me back hard. I never would have bet what i bet in the other sportsbooks because it is the credit system, like you said. So, for me the funny part is i know Kurt wishes we had all the funds we are betting with readily available, and because i know exactly what you are talking about. My bank got switched from wachovia to wells fargo, and i can't get any funds into the usual offshore accounts unless i try all the pain in the ### methods, so i have stuck with Kurt's books for sometime. F'n government always screwing things up for us/me. Life would be SO much easier if i could get back into sportsbook somehow, or a similar book, and ride GooRoo's coattails for a few months

Yeah, that's not what betting "on credit" means to me. That's why I was shuked.
Credit Betting

Definition: Betting without needing to have up front money on account to place a wager.
http://pregame.com/EN/main/sports-betting-basics/glossary/terms/credit-betting.htmlHas nothing to do with having money readily available... only that you don't need it up front.

OK sportsbook has week one NCAA UP!!!! Already have 6 units in.

SC -6.5

Tenn -4

Northwestern -1

Iowa -6.5

Houston -37

I'm sure you are right, i just know i thought it was funny because the credit has dug me a big hole in the regular bank account. Lokoing forward to NFL, and some NFL props on Kurt's books to recollect some of it. Either way, welcome back :hifive:

The UFC card for tomorrow is  from a betting perspective. Not too much value to be found, still will be playing some though. For now:

Shogun Rua -370 - 1 unit

Cole Miller -135 - 1 unit

Oli Thompson +175 - .5 unit.

Tail at your own risk with these, not great value but we'll see.

Sure I'll throw some row boat winnings at this. Welcome back, RN! I remember you saying at one point last season, "RGIII is like an ATM in my kitchen." Who you thinking just covers like it's their business a la Baylor in CFB this year?

I liked Baylor for overs. I believe I made that comment during the ridiculous BU/Washington bowl game. I look for games which have shootout written all over them. They can't make a total high enough if the matchup is right.

FWIW the Packers had a "family night" scrimmage tonight with these scab refs. The entire offensive line did a Lambeau Leap after the first offense scored a TD and they called an "Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Excessive celebration" penalty. Family night. Scrimmage. Oline vs Dline kicking FGs for extra hour of curfew. Excessive celebration penalty

Oh, I'm kinda drunk so I hope this might be useful to you degenerates

Tiger = Letdown. The man used to own Ohio. No matchups in the 3rd round for him.Thought about biting on Furyk +175 last night. His putting has stepped up a notch this week and he is always one of the best iron players. Yardage not really a factor off the tee as much as i thought it would be. Kirk and Merrick are in the top 10 and have outside chances at the Reno. Played a couple of 3rd round matchups, but just for some action while i watch. Furyk over OOsty even. SangmoonBAe over Piercy +105. Bello over Kim +105.

Seattle Mariners/New York Yankees Under 8 +100

Taking a chance on the under. So far Kuroda has pitched 30 innings of daytime ball with 0 earned runs.

And Seattle offense is last in the majors vs righties.

Bullpen ERA: SEA 3.22 NYY 3.25 which ranks 9th and 11th in the MLB.

Atlanta Braves -1½ +100

Houston’s offense is last in the league vs lefties and Maholm has not allowed more than one run in the last seven games.

Threw 0.5U at the OVER for Sunday night, did some checking and that's the consensus on other sites. Thanks RN.

Was listening to Bob Valvano's show on ESPN radio last night in the wee hours. He had a guest on from Pro Football Talk (not Florio, but I forget who... I was half-asleep) and he echoed what I wrote. The refs are calling nothing in the practices/scrimmages and the offensive linemen are laughing about how they are getting away with murder. Then they start talking about how it relates to the game tomorrow night, and Bobby V. says "You have to think this really favors the offense -- attention over bettors!" LOL.

I would think refs burying the whistle would help defenders getting away with interference too, making it tough to complete passes or get any of those huge PI calls.

But maybe those are more obvious than holding.

Seems that defenses are usually better earlier in camp as well since it takes offenses longer to get in synch with each other.

I know the 1's don't play much in the first game anyway, but the Saints will be without their best two cornerbacks. And since Arizona has to determine which crappy QB will be their starter, you gotta figure that even Kolb and Skelton should be able to have success against the Saints' 19th-string corners.

i was also banking on a fired up Saints team out to prove something. probably not a factor for the pre-season, but i figured why not. i do like Skelton and Kolb competing for a job though

Well, hopefuly you put the Furyk bet in. Looks like one or 2 of those match-ups you suggested for him may hit (Hello Westwood and his +11 today  ), so hopefully it still pans out as a profit for you overallETA: looks like i got Tiger against Westwood and Scott

Arizona Diamondbacks +131

Backing ARI vs the lefty. And feel comfortable with Cahill who is 5-4 with 2.79 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 11 road starts.

Probably won't get to see the game though. I have an exam tomorrow and have to go to campus to study with the two girls in my group for a few hours.

Late to the game but I like the over tonight, even at 37(i'm guessing it'll drop again before kickoff)

Also getting in as many teasers as i can :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:
